Not a bad end to 2004, as this was one of the last figures that I finished during the year.
Originally I was aiming for standard blueish NMM armour, but I mixed too much GW Rotten Flesh into it as I was going along; it turned out obviously more green, but in the end I ran with it. I am not unhappy with the results.
You can see the obvious Kaple influence in the form of painted-on nicks and scratches on the armour. In addition, I took it a step further and added a scar over one eye -- unfortunately, I rather flubbed the photo job due to the odd angle so the shadows make it tough to see.

AleKnight 04-Jan-05 #116633 | | Rating: 9 Scary good! I've yet to paint this guy and I know it might only be one tenth as good as this. Nmm is not one of my favorites, but his armorhas a great weathered look.
The face is awesome! |
imperial guard man 02-Jan-05 #116392 | | Rating: 8 I like all the small details like the stuble, the slight whitness in the hair, the faint scar on the eye and all the little niks and cuts on the armor very charactful. The NMM on the sword looks good but maybe next time blend the whitish glare part a wee bit more as it seems a wee bit rough. Over all a very nice mini. |
Ritual 01-Jan-05 #116268 | | Rating: 9 Very full of character! The armour looks great and the face is simply excellent (I was going to write 'beautiful' but that felt wrong somehow ) | |
