Ahoi Hoi!

Gee, dodge that... my first pic has been deleted due to a problem at the Image Shack Server... kind of crappy, but it is, as it is... Now, again... hope, that you will comment and rate it again, I would be very happy......

My Second Contribution for the German Games Day 2004... it won Bronze in the Diorama Category... *jippie*...

Again first of all I had to made up some fashy, interesting idea......

It had to be a Battle Scene, because this would tell a story perfectly... The scene should show some kind of action of which you might have asked yourself once what it would look like...

I found my inspiration on the cover of the Army Book Tau... I chose to use one of the new (and in my view absolutely brilliant......) Tau Battlesuits as the first protagonist... and some plasma......

Now, the main part of this Diorama is the shooting effect... According to general believe or knowledge plasma is a superultrahot and blue substance... I experimented for a very long time with various blue stuff... and finally I found a transparent, meltable stick made of plastic......

After that I continued my search for a fitting enemy... Tau Battlesuits usually strike from above, using their jumppacks while unleashing the hell out of their various deadly weapons over their enemies...... So the enemy had to creep on earth... It was not very difficult to find something creeping, slimey, small... something nurglish...... I chose Nurglings...

I used a standard lighter and other hot sources to melt the plastic to a shape I was pleased with... the Plasma missile was created......

After installing the whole suit and missile on its estimated position I started to arrange the nurglings... and here there was a surprise: An *exactly* upwarts staring Nurgling ... Simply PERFECT for a quite funny and interesting scene... the last few seconds of the poor little fella......

All in all the Category had been absolutely tough and I am very happy about the bronze......

I hope you like my diorama... please leave a comment if you like......

Cheers,

"Matt Cexwish"

Brilliant diorama, though I think the picture is a bit too bright, it drowns some of the colours. @Seiya: That's just a load of jibberish. Figure out what you want to say before you write it down. God.

Of course...... I found the Plastic Rod in a local store for Architectural Equipment... they have a Website as well... check out http://www.modulor.de ... There you can find the stick, it isnīt expensive at all, but be warned, I used the WHOLE 1 m Stick to get a piece like this, because I had to melt it...... So itīs hard, donīt be frustrated if something wonīt work some time...... An alternative could be the Gel Denso from Vallejo... if you are good you can have the Plasma formed out of some of this, and I think it will look very cool, too...... Happy trying......

I like it a lot. Very beautiful piece. The plasma effect is perfect for this. Can you please tell me where you found the plastic rod? The nurglings in particular are very fun. Hope that Tau has some other weapons to use!

The painting looks rather nice - very clean and precise. Your punchy style on the edges of the armour are not quite to my taste, but I can admire the ability here. The scene just doesn't have enough impact for me though. The Nurglings are so tiny and rather uniformly spread, it almost looks like the guy in the battlesuit is playing on one of those whack a rat games. There is absolutely no feeling of jeapordy and it really takes away from the impact of the scene.
