My first attempt to marry a mini to a real base. This is a repost of CMON Contest 4 Mini but the original attempt to just use putty to make a ugly yellow base just didn't work. Since this was a crystal base and this was my first attempt, I didn't put in any grass effects. I even tried getting away with not priming the base, which sort of worked, except for the sides. (That's not ink pooling up on the edges, but normal thick paint.) I did a few touchups, but the mini itself is mostly the same. I'm interested in how the base affects the presentation of the mini. Comments welcome.

Not great, but underrated. Try using matte varnish instead of gloss, and thin your paints more. This would not look bad on a tabletop though. | |
