this was my entry for the french games day 2005.. IT WAS FINALIST IN THE 40K SINGLE MINI CATEGORY..
I think it was one or maybe the most difficult category i've ever seen, not because the high quality of the finalist instead because of the big amount of this impressive minis.. about 8 or 9 miniatures that could win a trophy..
this is my last paintjob and conversion job and i am very proud of it. because i think i have improved my level a lot, and finally i have staring to achieve the ambient and environment that i would like to create in a miniature.. i have a lot to learn, but i think that i am going up.
40-45 hours to conversion and paint it.
the arm, the abdomen (it is bigger than the normal ones because i think cadians are too small), the base, the broken parts of the chothes and the chaos mutant dead, great part of the rucksack, the 90% of the head are sculpted with green stuff
it represent a sergeant of the 17º regiment of Alphant, and i tried to achieve a dynamic sensation, because he is running to fight against the chaos forces. that is what i sculpted all the wrinkles in the same direction, and all the movement and the position of the elements in the base they are put and sculpted to increase this movement, in the direction of the elevated arm, with a curve movement. the hair, the wrinkles, the arms, the legs, the elements of the scene, and the with the sheet of identification they support this movement..
greetings to all my friends, the old ones, the new ones that i met in france05 (lik kaple, a great man) and all those people that i am gonna meet one day!!
see you!
please tell me your opinions..i will be so pleased too know what you think.
about the colours: I tried to use a very limited palette and all is based on that dirty grey , green and dark red, all the colours have part of those colours. to achieve a general look, that makes a realistic ambient..that is what I tried
