About Oil Painted Minis

Biography:

Originally I studied Wildlife painting at University and after many years I have gone back into miniature painting.

Noe I am using uni skills as a foundation combined with 9 months of miniature painting alchemy. As I result I have found ways to use oil paint and oil pastels to paint miniatures. Acrylics are the base coat and wash, the oils do what they do best - smooth blends and give out rich colour.

My miniatures are well protected with oil based mediums. I have evaded varnishing allowing miniatures to be touch dry 2 days after painting and no future 'cracking'.

Oils give out vibrant colour and make blending a breeze - giving the smoothness of an airbrush with the accuracy of the finest bristle brush.
