I bought a small box of Ferrero Rocher for £1 something before Christmas to see if the box would fit a Lord of The Rings movement tray and it does :good: Enough height, I think, for Standard Bearers too plus the boxes will stack on the shelf & keep dust off...
...so I went to buy some more, £4 a go now :bad: I'll have to wait 'till I spot them cheap again, that's a bit too much to pay for a cheapo plastic box :)
Anyway, the Pod O' Orcs has been submitted to the Gallery, if anyone would care to vote, thank you...
...so that's 5 entries into the Gallery by the end of the year, just! Thanks all for following along my little WIPpy blog, let's see what happens next year :)
Best wishes to you all for 2010, cheers, B.
I was feeling too thick-headed today to paint more of the fur so made a start on a base...
...just feeling my way really, lots to work out with regards to colour & any further decoration.
PS thanks for the comment Skelettets :)
Hurray! I have a CMON Gallery Ranking now :D Proudly displayed in my shiny new Sig ;) 4234/7007 to work up from (or slip down) :) Cheers, B.
A potential base decoration for the Be-Clawed Beastman...
...a metal Gnoblar Trapper body, plastic Gnoblar feet & plastic Daemonette claws :D
I've had the body left since buying the Trappers blister for the man-trap, I didn't realise that he was supposed to be inside it though & filed his hands & feet off the trap thinking they were roughly cast bits! The feet come from the baggage carrier on the Ogre Bulls sprues, I've not managed to stick them on at a great angle but by time I'd fiddled with tiny pins for a while this afternoon I was just glad that they stayed on :)
I pinned the claws as well & tried to use liquid poly to smooth the edges/gaps but will just have to claim mutation for any odd looking parts :D He's very much one of those figures that's hard to read without paint on it & there are still a couple of elements on his belt that I hope will reveal themselves to be something!
gah! your speed make me feel even more slow slow slow!
cool gnoblar, putting claws on everything right now? :)
you are gettig pretty good at the green, that one beastman is really great! :claply: i do think however, that the red hoofes mismatch a bit. matter of taste perhaps, but i think would paint them in a more earthly neutral color.
congratz for ranking ;)
Hi Skelettets, claws on everything! By gum yes :D Many moons ago I spent hours poring over the Chaos conversion articles/photos in White Dwarf 104 (1988), a few years back I was vaguely aware of a Chaos Mutation sprue but I never got my hands on one and in the end my modifications were non-existant. Finally I have the oomph to play about a bit, I confess it's the Massive Voodoo guys who inspired me to buy the Daemonette sprues (along with a Christmas present voucher), Picster's Yellow One is ace :hypnotized: If I can get this project done it'll be entered into the local GW painting comp. in mid. Feb.
There won't be time to work on my other daydream for that contest, there's a new pack of three Tyrannid snakemen & the tails are a nice size for a Chaos Spawn upper torso, Ogre Bull with some Belly work or...
...rumoured new plastic Minotaurs!?! shhhh.....
Much fun to come, cheers, B.
As SkelettetS said you're a very quick painter and you also paint good! The base is very good and the beatsman is well painted, nice green on the skin.
Good luck for your next projects.
Cheers Cheelfy :good:
First quick go at bringing the horns/hooves/claws up to a colour other than Blood Red. Bestial Brown, Snakebite Leather, Vomit Brown, Bleached Bone...
It still needs a wash & maybe some neatening after, what do you think so far?
Me again :)
Fur on the BeastClaw highlighted further...
...and a shot of the pair...
...how do you think they sit together?
Cheers all, B.
They sit very well. I love the blue fur of the beastman.
Belt buckle done, well almost. I thought I knew what I was doing with the rust but it's been a bit tricky, either too uniform in colour or too spotty, as it is now. Hopefully a couple of dabs of Baal Red & some very fine Chainmail to highlight the Boltgun Metal will do the trick. Once the top of the cloth & edges of the belt are darkened I hope that it'll look okay...
Cheers all, B.
That's a very unique looking beastman. Looks like it is fun to paint as well!
Thanks Cheelfy, I'm still not sure if they'll end up on the same base or as a pair that tie together but stand seperately, I just don't want them to look as though they're from different planets!
Cheers ScottRadom, I just hope he works out to be unique in a good way :D I do like these plastic Beastmen, having put paint on most of a box now I'm fairly comfortable with them, so yes, good fun :)
I've just highlighted the Gnoblar's robe & painted in one of his belt tokens (like a Space Wolf tail token but I've painted it in the same colour as the Beastman's fur) but my stupid camera battery has run out again so no pic :(
I'll update tomorrow, cheers, B.
An hour & a half at the bus station, my service finally arrives, driver turns lights off & says he's not going back out in that! Having watched buses slide sideways down the slope though I don't blame him! Walked home & there's at least another inch of snow come down while I was out, so I'm in my front room, with a recharged camera battery...
The Ice-Cream Man and family bought me some minis for Christmas & apparently there was a certain amount of disappointment from one little girl at looking on this thread over the holidays to not find them all embarked upon! So here at least are some shots of projects for the year ahead.
Warhammer 40K Witch Hunter Crusader, he reminds me of Deadlock from the A.B.C. Warriors...
Mordheim Centigor, I think this guy may be next, yay, more Beastmen...
Mordheim Freelance Knight...
Cool stuff eh? All mail-order only, so a mix of minis I've desired for ages but not been able to purchase (ignoring GW in store delivery etc). I received a similar mix from another friend as well as my ArmorCast order of Shawn R.L. bits but will save them for later in the year, if I post too many bare minis I get too anxious about painting them all & it spoils the fun!
Cheers all, B.
I am no expert but wouldn't that mini need a little more highlighing (specially on the skin)? Other than that, it looks great.

bpi: its very refreshing to see a blog like yours take shape over the past year. your skills are really starting to blossom and it shows in your minis. cant wait to see what you do next!
i really think you should paint that mordheim knight right now, loooove that model!
That's a pretty bold color scheme BPI, maybe the fur is too bold imo, maybe a wash of a more neutral color would bring it down a bit. But that's just me :D
Nice base as well.
Thanks for the comments guys. GreenOne, I set out with the intention of bunging a thin Devlan mud & then Gryphonne Sepia glaze over the whole thing once done which should tone it down a little as well as tie it together, fingers crossed :)
Just a minor metal & rust update...
...more to do from the looks of it :) Does that even look like a chain on the back of the Gnoblar?
