That little fella needs to brush his teeth! ^^
Hehehe, yeah, they do look good. :D
Great work on that Silent Dwarf, and on the mimics, too, so far. Remembers me of some (very) old adventures where you could stumble over such trapped chests  (Such a pity that modern RPG's get more and more one-dimensional...)
Do you know already what to do with them once painted?
Haha then mimic chest is ace, reminds me of Diablo gaming!
Thanks guys :D
I'm all for classic monsters in my games. I didn't have a specific use for mimics lined up but they can be shoved into an adventure pretty much anywhere ;) Owlbears & Rust Monsters always tend to crop up I find :)
When I finally get around to DMing again the characters have just been ejected from the Elemental Plane of Fire back to the normal one but a thousand years into the past. So the location that they bargained to be returned to is correct but instead of being ruins the city is mid-siege from the chaos wastelands that led to it becoming a ruin. The Gnome bard/ranger, who's currently wearing red enamelled full-plate, just dropped into a narrow alley of a burning city, made eye contact with a little girl who's hiding behind a water butt, then looked up to see three chaos beastmen in the alley fighting over the head of a little boy (her orphan pal). Chaos beatmen in this case being Gnolls with random mutations. I intend for the party to all emerge in the same block of the city & spend a session regrouping (or doing whatever they may decide) then on we go with inner city fighting, rescues, guerilla tactics, etc. Plenty of room for a character to emerge in a burning warehouse with a mimic guard/trap in the office by the back door :D

More mimicry...

lol! Too cool! I like how the eyes pop out of the wood...but the dude with the green arm on the back left, your epoxy blend isn't quite there like the right side.
Those teeth! Those are big TEEF!!!
Hi Kat, I think I know the bit you mean. I only greenstuffed the eyes & their socket/surround, all of the purple bit to the rear is as it came :D I'm not complaining, they were free!
I'm pleased no one's screamed about the orange. Not as candy smooth as I'd envisioned. Do my highlights on the black claws work anyone? Or would I be better off darkening them again and just glossing? I'll try for a better shot of the orange eyes at some point too, they do actually have white reflective spots to the upper outside ;)
Sheffield Irregulars IMP is next weekend. I have my ticket though I've lost my lift so will have to go alone on the train. Just need to find minis I've painted this year that are worth entering! I've booked off Thursday/Friday to sneak a couple extra painting hours, just need to not get distracted cataloguing music
Cheers, B.
Claws and orange both work for me!
Me too, the claws look great. And the orange is showing up as red on my monitor. Orange eyes sound fantastic!
You sound like me going to a model horse show. How many minis are you taking and which ones?
The beginnings of my Heresy Were-Turtle...

Not sure what I'm taking yet Kath, need to read up on the rules & ctaegories. Probably just the little witch. Easy to transport :D
Cheers, B.
lol! Looking great B! Oh what was the name of that thing? Not Rodan....Gargantua? The giant turtle from the Godzilla movies...his spikes on the back of his shell glowed. When he flew he withdrew into his shell and had sparks coming out of the leg holes and spun in a circle as he went along. Hilarious stuff!
Little witch? Was that something you painted or something...er...someone else? ;)
Hi Kath, that would be this one...

I've never seen a Godzilla film. The horrible cartoon with him & the annoying little one was on when I was a kid but I have no nostalgia for it. If I remember rightly the newstand magazine Manga Mania that I bought for a couple of years had the original strip in it but I was getting it for Akira, not sure that I read the rest :D
:) B.
Oh man - you've got to see those old Japanese b-rated movies. They are so fun! And back in the day they were a cultural icon to a certain extent. So bad and everyone knew it but we loved them any way.
And I just checked - his name was Gamera not Gargantua. lol!
That little one is cute! I like the shadow effect you got on the face and eyes from the hat.
Some more shell done...

That's really nice, B! I like the colors and the blends!
Yup, that's a very good looking shell.
oh lol, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtjes theme song just popped into my head and it won't go away! Gaaaaah!
That shell is neat. I like the colour choice.
just looked through the wip, page after page, you need to get another hobby mate as you seem to have this one beat really eye poppin stuff. i just went and threw my paints in the bin far too many flash gits painting too much good stuff!...n ya know who ya are!
Thanks very much guys :good:
I think you may be rather closer to the truth there than I currently care to admit :shame: :rotfl:
So here's yesterday's progress...
