Nice ZombieZermans! :D Braaaaains! or should I say; Gehirnennnnnn!
Took advantage of the nice weather over the weekend to get a bit more sprayed, a pair of Bomberzombies (Grindhouse Games - Incursion) and a British Steel Suit (Westwind - Secrets Of The Third Reich)...

...whose head I had a go at this evening :)
Cheers, B.
Lovely Union Jack pans! :D
Very nice B! The Union Jack is cool!
Thanks Meph, geometric patterns aren't something I've practised much for freehand so I'm rather pleased with how it's turned out :) Bit more weathering to go once it's mounted and I may even have a go at chipping for the first time!
Nice to see you back about Kath :good:
Cheers, B.
Now that Union Jack helmet is COOL!! Love it BPI mate.
dfb
Nice helmet! I have a couple of those bomber zombies so I look forward to seeing what you do with them
helmet rock :good:
bomberzombies ftw!
Thanks guys :) here's a closer look at one of the bombers...

...just that bit of flesh put in this evening.
Cheers, B.
Hi guys, I have done a little bit of painting but mostly prepping, spraying and testing colours...
http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/a.../SOTRWIP01.jpg
...so everything is still very WIP :) My first ever tank too! Never glued together an Airfix kit as a kid so this one has been a long time coming. The 14 piece track was intimidating but seems to have gone on okay, just need to do the same on the other side :D It's a Tamiya 1:48 Stug III. Incursion Bomber Zombies and Slugger Murphy to the rear, SoTR Brits make up the rest.
Cheers, B.
That's quite an army you've got going there, B! Looking good!
Thanks Kath, I'm just waiting on a Westwind order with the other bits in to show up now :) I seem to have got my gaming group enthuised for it at least, as a change of pace from our weekly D&D session, so getting figures on bases so that they can be played with is taking priority over pretty paintjobs. For now anyway ;)
Cheers, B.
Awesome work. Love the WWII zombie idea. Great paint job and nice work on the union Jacks
Hi all, some bits done, a unit of US Armored Infantry ready for spraying. Some things learnt there, the sprue of guns looks the same but the hands are in different positions. Took me a while to realise :) Also it's easier to pin guns in with a single piece into the body than it is drilling into both hands and wrists. Wish I'd clicked to that one earlier too. A little bit of paint on some Brits and a German Sniper put together this evening...

...base is plasticard with a square tile pattern but along with the frosted CA it's not at all clear is it? All will become clear once painted :)
Cheers, B.
Looking good B! I like the yellow. I need to take speed painting lessons from you. :)
Hi Kath, progress doesn't feel so swift from this end ;) Still, put together the second German Sniper yesterday evening before heading off to games night which means, along with the US unit, I have the minis for the first scenario in the book, just need to glue up another dozen Zombies and the second will be playable too. Then I need to mount and cut all of the tokens and templates, unfortunately the woman in the local craft shop reacted as if I'd just asked for enriched Uranium when I enquired after mounting card or foamboard!? Didn't even offer to show me the thickest card in stock in case it would suit my needs, just turned away from me and recommenced shoveling her lunch into her face. I shall not be returning.
Trial run for the game on Sunday, fortunately the guy I'll be playing with is an old hand at Wargames so the issues I've bumped into with the rules should be easily resolved. I suspect that they're conventions that I'm just unfamiliar with due to coming from a D&D background. Of course he just bought a box of fifty-some 1:48 Russians and a couple of Tamiya tanks and had everything based and painted by the end of the week! Never hard to spot a (ex)commission painter :D
I've also checked that the minis all fit okay on my fantasy terrain and they looked fine, so between three of us I think we could cover a table tennis table with enough bits there wouldn't be much room left for minis :) Just be an odd mix of hills and jungle from a 20mm Vietnam Cthulu campaign, Warhammer and 40K plastic, along with Renedra style odds and ends we've each collected over the last quarter century. I'm looking forward to it!
Oh, and I'll have you know these valiant and manly zombie slayers are definately wearing brown/khaki and not yellow! The horror ;)
Cheers, B.
Had a go at painting the first sniper on Thursday evening. Got him basecoated and then had my first go at camo. It didn't go well :D So stripped him on Friday night and got the basics redone, then finished him off today...

Seems to have gone okay :)
Cheers, B.
So that was the base that was hiding! Nice job! And camo's gotta be tough! But you did a great job with it.
It sounds like you guys really are ready for war. lol! Just a fun note to add because your lists of all that stuff reminded me of a guy I dated years ago. He painted scale models and him and a friend would do WWII stuff. They'd go all out with every detail, some of the nicest painting you'd ever seen. Then they'd take their armies out to a vacant field set them up to "do battle" and start throwing firecrackers and cherry bombs at the models. Wouldn't stop until everything was utterly destroyed. Then they went out bought more models to build and it started all over again.
