The process is pretty straightforward, a base of midtone (in this case screamer pink) 2 thin coats. Then start shading the recesses with successive layers of very thin shade tones...

Got a chance to put a solid day into my GD entry, started on the other part. Bit of a gamble with this idea but hopefully it will come out okay.
