Just checked in your thread (actually disconnected from Cmon forums) happy to see your perfect paintings again. Awesome work as always... those underskin vein spiders... look so real!
Just passing by to say hello! Happy to see your last miniatures show quite an improvement from last time I logged in these forums! Good push of that NMM! I'm still working on improving mine, but NMM...

Just passing by to say hello, I hope you and your wife would be perfectly safe (regarding Covid). Came in just to check some of my favourite CMON WIP posts, I love that you still have your bloody...
Just passing by to say hi! Hope everything is well (regarding Covid).
Regarding colour sets... don't buy full ranges, you'll get a lot of colours that you hardly ever use (taking a lot of your...
Just passing by to say hello. :)
That shine on the mask looks very good!
Thanks a lot for the good wishes for my wife, she is getting better and better every day. Today we have walked a couple of Kilometres!!
Seems that my PC is not recognising my mobile phone anymore,...
Beautiful!!! Looks excellent krule!
I would say, keep at it like now, then once mounted up, you'll see if you need more or less rust/grime/verdigris. ;)
Beautiful NMM
Pustules incoming! take care ;)
So menacing creature/hyena .... Love it Denis!
Sorry to all, I've been out of these forums a bit too long. Again, instagram is too easy and fast to use compared to posting here....xP
Meanwhile my wife is recovering from a major surgery (that's...
Love the textures you got there! I have just had painted this very same model! ^^
I particularly love the shine you gave to the hand. The video you posted on insta shows better the work ;)
The control of NMM that some people around, like you, achieve don't ceases to impress me.
Great work with the plants. Monstera looks excellent, I would recommend to curve the foliage a bit though, not only on the Y axis, but on the X and Z too... if that can be understood. ;)
Check the...
Some impressive work around here too! Love that can of soup... Typography was perfect!! And I like AngusMcbride paintings a lot (I knew about him through ICE Middle earth Roleplaying covers)
Long time without entering the forums and I have just had 3 pages of refreshing work from you. (shifting from orcs to human, and to TMM, has to bee a nice feeling!)
Love that purple tones on the...
Great work on the 40K miniatures, specially on the conversions. ^^
Looking forward this random encounter... I think you really excel at fantasy minis ;)
Been following on Instagram, I am just checking in around this forums a bit again. ;)
I really wont be able to paint at all there... (or at least even less than I do now) my mind will go nuts. Princess matt is a killer xD
On a more serious note... serious painting is that of this...
Great work on them. Those miniatures are great, I think I love every version I see painted of them! xD
Looking great KB! :)
Nice trophy SaintT!!
Wow two pages of updates xD
Great work as always BAM, thank you also for the orc SBS! Much appreciated :)
Loving the red/orange/pink undertones on the "crest". Thank you for the terrain closeups too!
AGreed, fabric on the waistcoat and skin on the face plus eyes... killer combo! ;)
I was not expecting that blood spill! Scary surprise xD
Thank you any way and thanks for the extra info... Desert sand and Sandy desert.... terrible naming error... hahahaha
Nice red, and I like the dark areas that you left around it, makes it pop a bit more and gives it character. ;)
Again thanks for the SBS ;)
Do you know if that AK sand is coarser or finer than the Vallejo Sandy paste... it seems coarser to me, but as you added the picture with some more "dirt" on top I am...
WOW that prone one is a *stealing the wording* golden idea!!
This last terminator looks really nice, reminds me of an old pc game... Spacehulk. ;)
Yup, I agreed with Foxy. On a side note... they really need to go to the dentist to check their gums and teeth.. xD
Congratulations mate. Those zebra pelts, the flying gobbo and the skin colours look precious!
Beautiful artwork... and very inspiring indeed.
Looks like you will have to deal with lots of bubbles there.... ^^'
Not sure if the leg (with flesh on it) suits the image (maybe you can cover it...
The sculpt on the wizard looks quite smooth (not super sharp I mean)
And yes printing lines are quite noticeable on the bust... let's see how does that does with a bit more paint on top...
It looks great! let's see how that base is! :)
Congrats on the move! and also for the new painting place! Make sure you have leg space underneath the new paint-station! ;)
CC.... hahahahahahahahaha
Ditto Krule... I think those shifting colours would be better appreciated on bigger surfaces.... although I might be wrong...
Candy for the eye ;)
wow that's a lot of printed things! Turtles and those little crates and barrels look pretty good! The thing i like the most as you mention is that they do not show the typical "printing lines" .
hahahahaha
It must have been an absolute pleasure... to receive praise from Karol I now understand better your choice of profile pic.
And I agree with Rhett, you have to look twice to notice it is an actual...
Oh! beautiful sunset, thanks for sharing, it has an inspiring gradation!! There are also hints on how metals reflect the light!! :desire:
Nice advancements Coyote! looks like this piece is demanding the best from you. I am sure it will be one of those a step up pieces once finished ;)
I find it less Hulky now with the head on... the tabard? (cloth on between the legs) hues are really cool.
:worship!::worship!::worship!::desire::desire::desire:
hehehehe
Really beautiful work. Cannot say more.
I really like what you did with the lights on the helmet. Also, the skin advancements look good.
Brilliant idea John, that hand on the column is something else! Now it gives the impression that he is choosing wether to hit with the club or throw a piece of column!
OH! It will be great to watch you three develop these models. ;)
hahahaha I also haven't advanced anything in the last week and a half. Here is starting to get hot and I've been busy with other life amusements and obstacles... xD
Now I see it much better, I was...
First of all congratulations!!!
Super! That Miskatonic incident is great! Love the wood grain and the freehand on the parchment... Great work.
Me too, and I continued playing thrones into the...
Excellent advancements.
Don't forget to have an eye on the NMM if you are still pursuing the sunset ambience light (should you have that planned ignore this line!) ;)
Looks like some kind of Joan of arch... Like her lots... but there's a lock on my wallet. xD Thank you for sharing though...
And yes it looks a bit chibi/manga RPG to me too. No SD...
The new green mix... looks more green and less white if that makes sense... I wouldn't replace the old mix, and consider both as variations on the skin tone?
Love both figures but the flying one has...
Great action shots! Really happy to see you painting again... missing your Lovecraftian minis though :P
I identify the bearded shirtless man as a drowned god priest?! (I've been playing A game of...
Check this reference... it might help. Not the best out there, but still much better than the one I am able to produce now...
http://www.coolminiornot.com/387592
This other one is from the...
Loving the turquoise bits against the gold. :)
Those things held at the end of her hair tips... are they lamps? and if so.. have you planned doing OSL on them?
Skin looks super clean and smooth now.
OH! Congratulations!! It seems that some judge saw your efforts!! :D
Watching this develop and unfold :)
This is perfect! Love that you can get to that point. Really happy for you mate :)
Looking forward your next work with this much more "organic" bust, really intrigued to see what you have thought! ;)
Already voted sire ;)
Deadlines have that issue... sometimes they help you to push further, (this one I think it did) and that is enough to be happy about. And sometimes for whatever reason you feel a bit deceived for not...
Nice picture! It shows the duel perfectly! gogogo don't stop it now... ;)
Arcadia Quest started as a kickstarter game, then as a kickstarter there are a lot of components/heroes that were just produced for the kickstarter bakers, so there is plenty of "limited edition"...
It's a very impressive work, specially as I seen on Insta, with even the face tattooed. An authentic display of tiny doodling tattoo.
On the other hand, and this is a personal opinion, technique and...
Voted and commented ;)
Silk was spot on!
And as far as a sunset light... well I first saw the images and then read the text, but my first thought was that the miniature was hit by a heavy and hot sunset..... (till the...
Exactly this! Happy to read you again!! Welcome back Toaddy ;)
On the marines.. specially like the face of the guy without hood. I will be running away in front of it, looks like he is saying some...
Wow! I specially like the girl and the Gremblin/goblin. ;)
Great!! Busts are quite more "expensive" in time investment, but they are worth the effort. (Well I have three of them unfinished... I must revisit them and finish them off!!)
I've played BB against lots of just primed miniatures, you could already play with them like that and they would look hundreds of times better than just bare metal/primed/base coated! Keep painting...
No sure cherry blossoms are usable on the samurai dress of a man, I would say they (samurai) would be choosing some geometrical pattern instead. Have an eye on that, specially if you decide to take a...
That's learning with blood and tears isn't it? hahaha it hurts me just reading it.
LOL messup the roles of the actor.... hahaha
Just to let you know that your Boromir bust is displayed on the gallery within the "top last seven days" Congratulations ;)
Yup you can tell if they are opposite, but also is a mixing exercise were you get to know the properties of your own colours.
i.e. I was not expecting to get a nice burgundy colour from mixing one...
Beautiful scales! reminded me of this project from Demihuman... lots of scales too!
I agree with the rest, you got a nice work there, way above regular tabletop. I specially like the expression on her eyes and the general colourscheme you gave her.
I would say wolf too, but it's too big for that so maybe a warg? :S It does not matter, the black-blue fits the scheme nicely. ;)
Vote ready... 3,2,1... Gallery launch! xD
Dave is looking reat, although you spotted it right, pictures are a bit dark and in them the green slime at the base reclaims a tiny bit more attention that they should. IMO
On the last one it looks...
I like the chosen colours for the hair and the pelt. :guitar:
Oh! I forgot to say that I also did this, but still no pictures of it. xP
Effectively it was a nice idea, thank you Chaotic!
Exactly this very same thought :search::brushlick:
Sry I answered late, I did not see your post Graish xP
It's a pitty that miniature that you bought, some manufacturers do the ads with a 3D image sculpt, that's not the ultimate look of the "printed" or "casted" model, take care with that.
GW plastics...
Big thanks, Coyote and Ten Ball.
@KruleBear:
The eyes on this miniatures are great for practicing, most of them are even bigger than the ones on busts!! So you have more room to move your brush...
Try a Violet lipstick? xD
I am always amazed at how easy NMM looks on your models... You are still improving the end result even more since that beautiful Thor miniature.
Relieved that you and your family seem to be save and sound. Congratulations on the finishing of all that bureaucracy and specially for that adoption. :)
On the kickstarter flood of miniatures.... I...
Hey what'sup? Missing your posts... have you been busy with some other magic castle/dungeon?
Thank you, been doing some more, will share them too. Colour mixing practice is quite relaxing, although yellow pot paint flies away... xD
Thank you John, that means a lot for me. I'm very aware...
Unsurpassed levels of griminess... xD beautiful picture, a close inspection of this would be truly inspiring.
Hoping your pain will be completely away in no time.
Super good for the time invested. Much better in fact that a lot of people out there selling themselves as "propainters" ;)
NMM on blades looks super shiny, and skin does not have that "armour" feel that Sergio always says, also it has quite a lot of colour hues for a first approach to his colourful technique... thumbs...
I want to give you some some reputation points (star icon on the left) but since you are almost always giving great advice and tips, it is constantly telling me that I can't that I need to spread...
The effort spent on painting just, all those tiles is just mesmerizing... oO'
mmmmm I am not sure wether the GW shop or you would be the one most happier.... xD
having that temptation so close....
Oh! Big challenge take your time assembling and cleaning mold lines!
Also happy belated birthday!
Just for your info and interest... do not know how long it will take for them to put this out to the market.. but:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BhiuTXulBF1/?taken-by=angel_giraldez
Microbeads.... or another layer of disgusting things... LOL hahaha
Your next work should be an impolute high elf / eldar... just to compensate things ying/yang you kow... xD
Congratulations for the water effects! They are so scary to use... you seem to get out from it safe and sound.. ;)
Base ties them both tightly, it is a nice scene already.
On the pink handles... I would make them more dark... and/or a bit less warm so to say say, let the colour on the mid shadow be the colour...
Voted. ;)
I think the best part of your work on this miniature is the face, followed close by the gauntlets/gloves and the sword.
Seems like an awesome plan to do! one to look forward each year. :)
Must admit that dino ass is sexy.... hahahahaha
Seriously you are doing one excellent job after another.... ;)
Beautiful colours. I like the snowy base too.
I see the improvement on the chest scars, now they seem more recent/fresh than before.
Also the improvement done on the face is very good IMO, red reflections were nice before, but now (that I...
It looks technically better than the first. Well done MaM! :)
I know American cofee is usually something more like dirty water... but... that's a lot of cofee in any case! Take care master painter, and take some rest and a water cup! ;)
With 13 coffee cups I...
Mmmm I might try that, it seems a good plan thanks :)
Well I must say that I was not aware of it until I read your post. :sleepy: So I went to kickstarter and search... But since I still have...
Thank you fox!
Should I finish the orcs (8 of them I think) or paint the greatest villain Lord Fang, or maybe the Sisters of pain and pleasure? hahaha still lots to paint.
Nice and solid works! I took the time to vote for each and everyone of the miniatures in your gallery, hope you put some more there ;)
Feel free to vote for mine, since except for a couple or three...
pheewww you were lucky! or perfectly cautious!! ;)
As hairster points bigger models are quite a bit exhausting and demanding... keep at it you'll finish it off in no time!
I really think you are being a bit too much demanding on yourself Joce. Take care, and breath a bit before doing another Iron Heart! ;)
+1 ^^
I would like to add that this makes me think of a "duel" that AndyG did some time ago. It was a dwarf vs Banshee but the colours were also "warm vs cold" he even did an article at figurementos...
Always thinking this. Do not know how to manage it well. I suppose the best is have a balance of 50:50 but I cannot do it, unless I think the model has a goal, for example painting x colour, or...
Thanks a million mates! :)
Time for an update!
I have been able to finish off another hero from Arcadia Quest. Now I have them all painted!!! Hooray!.... well not all, just all of the "good"...
Welcome aboard!
There is plenty of smurf fans around so soon they will came over here ;)
All I can say from the picture you posted is that it looks brilliant indeed, I see lots of nice scratches,...
If this is the beauty were is the beast??
LOL
How did the resin pour ended?
Voted ;)
The abomination is looking for a nice and cheap shoe shop... because walking amongst lots of spiky and rusty things is quite dangerous... hehehe
Nice basing!
Oh! saw the bad news on insta ;( sorry for that issue... I am sure it will be stuck at some point of the mailing process, and it will arrive at it's destination late, but safe and sound.
Great base! crossing fingers for the resin to go in well!
Looking really good so far... I don't see any problem with the horns... they look ace from this side of the web. ;)
OH! I see, kind of in the same stage myself, I've been using my Arcadia Quest models to practice NMM a lot and OSL a bit. You can read and watch all the videos in the world, but if you do not try it...
Beautiful colours as always Sigmar. :)
Which was your experiment? because at this stage it looks right :S
Thank you Fluister for the explanation, might try to do something similar :)
The rocks underneath look great too.
Super! they look even better as a group. Is it me or you have refined their eyes? Maybe are just better pictures... but it seems to me...
Yeesss!! This last one... I think it's my favourite from the group... I will let myself down till I see a picture of them together though.
Big thumbs up for the accomplishment ;)
It's great to see all of them side by side... It's always interesting to compare works on the same miniature... some time ago (1-2 years?) there were threads here in the forums with people painting...
Welcome Darren!!
I think so... first time posts/images need to be accepted by a moderator... that's a lots of people first issue when registering aboard, so don't worry about it unless it keeps...
I agree with the rest on the red... but what I like most is the texture underneath it! Is it done with some light skin colour in a criss-cross pattern or similar and then painted over with the red? I...
Cannot help with the flow-aid... I just use glazing medium or satin medium on my sc75 paints to make them work easier for me.
For that blue... pale orangey... pale pink... violet-red?? teal...
Thanks for answering Maxxx ;)
Thank you for the update DR. ;)
I agree with the rest nice greens there!
Also the squig is starting to look great.
Love all of those subtle colour shifts, cannot say more. and congratulations on that Silver!
Just discovered your thread and wanted to comment...
Really excellent and clean work bringing all these old almost "relic" miniatures back to life... some of the posts in the thread made me smile...
Having the same problems... (no posting pictures, too many redirections... and also problems at log in)
Irina kind of reminds me of Miranda Otto... ^^
Also does the gold rush man include the dog, bucket and rocks on the base? It looks like a nice project to paint... ;)
I thought the same plus... I think I have something with red-haired women... xD
Hoping you won't have uploading pictures problem like others around.... ;)
Congratulations for that finalist placement!
That spider lady will look excellent on top of the game tiles!!!
I envy you... I just could not pass the beauty of those Arcadia Quest miniatures (despite having horrible moldlines sometimes) and...
Been three days in a row with problems at log in. I also have that blue text at top. I suppose they are doing some kind of maintenance on the site.....
Sry 'bout that incident... I am sure you'll have it done faster and better than the first try!
Also, remember you can partially strip with Vallejo AB thinner (if recently painted, brand is because...
Thank you Guawol and KB!
Uploaded to the gallery! http://www.coolminiornot.com/426302
Now onto the next mini!
Minotaur added!
Pictures cheat a bit, since white is reflecting a lot of light, IRL they look a bit overtextured. But I am happy for a "first" time ^^ Hope this helps others ;)
66443
I might tweak a bit some...
Thank you both for your words, I tried a last time yesterday afternoon/night and got it done, I searched over the web and remembered an AndyG NMM article, at the same time looking for axe pictures I...
Best of luck at the comp. Looking forward those final pictures ^^
Agreed on the lava too... reminds me of scenes of a couple of movies (star wars and LOTR)
Also I wanted to thank you for your article on NMM on figurementors, it has recently helped me on a fight...
Love the face of the top right one! Has the kind of evil smile (you reflected it even on the eye) that a rat with a thousand companions behind should have. hehehe
Really wishing you good luck at GD....
Got the same dilemma with my arcadia quest miniatures... took the same path of leaving the bases just "blank-black" because those also have an attachable colour base system. I've seen some people...
It definitely looks fragile!! Take care... it looks like the kind of thing that will put your nerves on test... Make yourself assured and test the assembly of each and every piece before you advance...
This last one was FAST! It also looks somewhat more defined/focused than the previous four?! IMO.
Thank you for the encouragement SS.
Unfortunately yesterday night I failed again, so this time I stripped the axes to start over on a future try. I do not find the way to make them look properly...
I wanted to finish the minotaur today but I got problems with the axes... redid them thrice but I still do not like them... NMM steel not working since I am failing totally at the light...
No way! get your antman coat on and have fun surfing them! ;)
Will continue with them for sure!
Update! I have been working on the minotaur. Today I have just finished the NMM gold. It now...
I saw your update on insta... great improvement!!
I would say though (seeing them this size) that at least on my monitor the sword is missing a bit of the superbright shines, but on the other side...
Great work so far, I really like the wooden platform has some nice tones.... you'll have a ton of fun playing with these with your friends.
Don't forget to coat them well to preserve your work! ^^
Agreed!
Also I am still overwhelmed by the size of the miniature... and I am not even painting it! LOL
GW has gone wild with the scale of things... ^^'
Maaaannn sucha ton of work you presented there!! Judges must have been busy!! xD
Congratulations on your wins!! Great cards too! (I suspect your Janet is behind them... she does an excellent job...
Me too! did not see it at first glance! ^^ Great scene, good luck!
You can shift the yellow to a bit more orangey so it will not "disturb" that much... alternatively you can try to do it in green, both options can be worked upon what you have now since yellow is...
Very nice violet. Intrigued with those duo-tone under-shadows!
That eye is already a killer!! Looking forward seeing all that bare skin to develop... ;)
Not being an English speaker myself... I would say that "deffo" is a shorthand for "definitely".
Don't go mad about the voting on the gallery, sometimes you will get downvoted, sometimes not. It's...
I just think it's about they haven't got time to do it.
CMON has gone into a LOT of kickstarters, they are almost literally flooding the market with games and miniatures, one after the other. The...
Looks EVElyN better with the upgraded necklaces and hair!! xD
Glad that these experiments/exercises served to someone else :)
Between mixing, preparing, painting and cutting I spent a bit more than 10 hours doing them!
SC75 is the only full range I have (not...
Colour wheels done with watercolour paper and a selection of six (Sol yellow, Aldebaran red, Antares red, Tesla blue/Mediterranean blue, Violet, Irati green) SC75 colours:

Not quite sure, seems like a vibe to me, instead of doing a consistent basecape you seem to do a "translucent" base and "mark" some highlights and work upon them. But it's a bit difficult to judge...
I don't think so CC, at least at the moment.
On the other hand, I've been painting on paper lately... specifically a couple of colour exercises, a colour wheel and a swatch palette. I shared the...
Looks like your approach to painting is quite different, I like it. I also like the finesse lines on the head-kerchief and the general "pale" palette. Whites on the shirt look spot on too. Nice...
Sounds like a reasonable plan, that poor 00 must be exhausted specially if you also used it for your busts or bigger minis....
Additionally I found this on the gallery which strongly reminds me of...
Looks like a n1 W&N without belly. ^^' It seems quite sharp though!
I pledged an early bird for the Artis Opus kickstarter, so I will patiently wait for them to arrive in July. I do not own any 000...
That means quite a lot!!! Congratulations! Volomir is one of the great spanish painters, he has a blog/website that gives advice and insight into the miniature painters world, has thousands of...
Impressive freehand (so straight!) and also violet colour. I've seen now quite a lot of versions of this figure and I think the horns and tail addition is a great idea to give the sculpt another...
Sooo good! Keep them coming to life! go go go!
I saw it yesterday and I got a bit deceived too. Too many actors made it a bit void, I also got bored two or three times, FX were splendid on the other hand. I listened a group of people nearby...
I have seen some youtube videos of Miniac, I like his honest advice an approach to the hobby and I've just seen his yesterday video, and it includes an online competition (his first).
For those...
Congratulations for that gold!!!
Getting better and better! ;)
Grouped together they look even better ^^
Welcome aboard everyone!!
Hi Graishak!
You have done well following CC's advice and joining the forum's WIPs! ;)
I think the biggest problem you have now is paint dilution, I still struggle sometimes to get the correct...
Love the orange/violet combo!!
I think the same.
I would like to add that you have to ways of aproaching NMM, one is like super shiny (smooth and high contrast) as seen almost everywhere and the other is with texture, like...
oh! congratulations then! You were pretty close! which mini won first in the end? ^^
It will be a pretty WOW moment when they are finished and show up as a group. Because I do not know what I like more... the NMM Cooper with verdigris included or the skin or that green OSL. ^^'
...
I would say this picture is somewhere in between 6-8 times bigger than the real thing. (just throwing an approximation without having a similar original)
WOW pretty impressive will share with a friend who also hoards "bits of metal" xD
Thank you all, you are all a great encouragement for me. :brushwave::brushwave:
@Hairster: ultrachin! hahahaha
Hi there! just wanted to comment that I really like the used feel of the armour. Nice drawing patterns too.
Beautiful work Werner!
Thank you CC, I am just missing one hero from the base box (Johan), then I must finish the orcs (actually at 60%), the minotaur, Mr. Fangs and a couple of the bad cheeks and I will have finished this...
