Welcome! Enjoy your stay
My god you've been busy!
Have a look on youtube. There's one guy who shows you how you can improve cheap airbrushes so they are much better:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkqCwc5-tbA
There loads of advice out there...
Yup, very cool
Welcome, I'd say that's waaaaay above tabletop!
I think the main issue is that each slab is a fairly uniform colour, with a few exceptions (and they're the more effective ones). Maybe add some more variation within each individual tile. I painted...
Agree with Vikey, contrast helps it pop
Clean job there
Great work
Welcome to the forums
Very cool!!
Nicely varied for a predominantly grey scheme
Impressive work
Lovely work, although the dark bits need to be darker imo
Personally I charge 100 for a sculpt (with mates rates and multibuy discount possibly dropping that lower). I know people who do less and a "good" sculptor will charge more, with a well known rep at...
Awesome, although I spy a couple of eeny weeny mould lines on that left arm
Love that. The weathering is great
As good as the last one!
Lovely. Great leather
Why I don't use them (generally)
They lean towards bigger scales (54mm and up) and although you can use them on smaller stuff, it's much fiddlier and:
I tend to over blend, losing the contrast,...
Looks like fun, some good work
I thought procreate was a putty?! Nice one Mike
Welcome aboard
Ah just read this and was getting ready to donate! Sorry to hear about it, I'm sure you generosity helped him greatly
Creepy. But cool
fenris?
http://fenrisgames.com/shop
Dragonforge?
http://www.dragonforge.com/Painting%20service/for%20sale/gaming_bases.htm
I can't be arsed to look through them, but they're a good bet
Make your own tools. Old paintbrushes and cocktail sticks work well. I have one with a rounded point on one end and a circular wedge on the other and one with a bit of wire glued (or drilled into)...
Some good looking stuff there
A damn good start.
One thing that jumps out for me is a mould line on Laurel's hat. You need to start from a good base so make sure the model is clean to start with
Bout time you finished him, been following the updates on fb
Cool. As it were
done, hope it helps
yeah another vote for Martyn
lol fair play to them
Finecrap was only a stopgap due to hiking metal prices before they could go all plastic. Hence it's shoddiness
Never played by the minis are great
rose and co 22 or w+n series 7 size 2
1) Is it preferable to completely finish one area at a time, or should I do a complete base coat first?
Whatever. Some great painters do areas at a time. That would drive me mad. I like to block...
Lovely work
I don't tbh. I prefer basic stuff on machinery on the whole and fancy stuff for banners. But that's me. Appreciate the skill in this though
Wow, that's a LOT of yellow!
Nice work there
Great stuff
It is ott, but it works for me
Cracking pj
I like him. Could do with some contrasting colours to brighten him up a little though
Is it good porn?
Not bad that
Good work although a massive shame that no attempt seems to have been made to cover the gap where that werewolf type fellas head (the unarmed one) meets his neck
agree with you zab
Nice, that gazelle was especially lovely
very cool find
I'd tidy up the edges of the bases with black tbh
superb base
very nice work
Hmm it's a toughie, centaurs are always going to be expensive to a certain degree. Heresy does two (on offer atm)...
I like a little description too adds the human factor to it. Every mini is a battle for me so I like to share my experience
Good to see you've been productive
I shall be keeping my eye on this, she;s a lovely sculpt
It's interesting being able to look back and read conversations like this. No chance of bad memory twisting things. Wish I could do that IRL....
Ah you always have a polite face!
One month to go and few places left
Tis a shame, I think it will be very informative
Wowzers, good work
Places are filling up guys. No one here interested?
Ever wished you could sculpt but need a tutor? Why not try the best, the Industry himself?!
I'm getting Kev down to Cardiff for two days on the 1st and 2nd August this year. You can get one day...
As much as my patience will put out for, usually about 4 hours per mini..
A solid minis, two things that jump out at me are the mould line/slippage on the standard handle wrappings and his base just feels too big for him
Jeebus, that's a load of models! Weathering is good!
that top thing looks mental. i would love to see more angles...
hehehe good work
I just meant from my point of view, few people were out the night before so it wasn't the same for me. Didn't even talk to you, wasn't going to shout when you sat down and figured we'd catch up later...
Try doing a push mould of real bark if you are happy to use putty. Also crackle paint can look good
Looks great but i'd rather have one zoomed out view of the base and the rest of just the figure
Your stuff is still inspiring! Bastard
Some incredible airbrushing
Impressive work
Haven't finished then, have you?!! Liking the damaged look on him, hope the base fits in
It was there. A decent show but quieter than last year. No stand out new companies though
Looks great
Cool. Is there a way to see your old vids?
Cracking build but could do with a but more variety in the colour. Maybe some different tints added to the paint for different stones and roof tiles just to break it up a little. Alo myabe some...
Some smart stuff
Stop only when you stop enjoying it
Some striking stuff. Airbrush work is clearly your forte!
Very good work
Class work, good to see you still finishing stuff
Anthing like those suggestions tbh. As long as its not like x28 or whatever one of those stupid gw paints is called!
Do you like them? If so, carry on! The paint is clean. Personally, I'd rather more contrast and some grass on the bases
Sounds like they all went to a helluva party! Congrats
Are you happy with your results? What level are you aiming for?
I'm with max, I start in the middle with grey primer. Halfords if you're in the UK. bright colours take to it well but so do darker...
I'll wager your friend is very happy!
Lovely painting but the base seems too bland compared to the detail on the minis
Count me in, I'd risk it for a tenner! Pm me and we can do business. One request for the final product, call then paint what you want but please specify what colour it is somewhere on the bottle. As...
Happy belated birthday
Lovely paint
Magic sculp. It's more clay like in texture so doesn't have the elasticity that gw has. Can be cut and sanded as it's hard as hell when dry. Sylmasta a+b is similar but i find ms a little smoother
Good stuff. Love a scratchbuild
Some great looking stuff there. If i had the cash and, more importantly, the room, I'd be there
he's a talented sculptor who uses other peoples concept work, in a dodgy fashion. He also has a rather foul mouth. And if you know me, you;d know it must be bad. I'd never buy from him
Like it but I feel that something needs to be done to those lenses, they seem too plain
Brilliant!
makes me want to paint inq stuff
Cracking job there
They seem decent enough to me....
Make your own. Use tooth picks or wooden skewers and carve them to the shapes/sizes you want. Then coat in a few thin layers of super glue to seal it. Once dry, use some very fine sandpaper to...
Very sharp
I would have the item glued on to the armature and then use the item to support the fingers as you sculpt them
Victoria's Minis are based in Oz - cracking stuff
http://victoriaminiatures.highwire.com/
As are:
http://www.guildofharmony.com/
Done, look forward to seeing it with paint. Other than primer that is
Good stuff, the dio is my fav
Decent work
Trim it down/off, don't try and hide it or it looks sad
Seasonal merrytide all!
Hope you had a good one!
Is that the troll with the re highlighted belly?
I agree completely
Lush work!
They've got a great old school vibe
Brilliant!
Cool, I like that
Yeah he's a decent sculptor but with access to amazing tech..
Love that old school mini. Gotta get me one..
Lovely stuff
thoroughly impressed
Well done guys!
Great work
Very cool, like it's out of an old WD
A fun mini!
I thought you'd gone nuts. I'd say it's a zombie clown bust
I believe the blood of an innocent is the only way foreward
Lovely textures etc and I'm on the fence about the effectiveness of the smoke. However, the lizardman being shot seems to not be reacting to it, it looks like it's a smoke gun. Also, I don't see the...
No idea, it's been a while...
lol I remember him....and finn18, his cryptic admin alter ego
Great nmm there! Although, I'd say the base overwhelms him
Nice piece
yeah great stuff
Great stuff
Welcome back dude!
Nice one, never seen him before!
Very nice work, especially like the underlighting effect. How are the acrylics different?
I agree with some of the proportions being off but as he's a demon, can't really complain too much. Some of the details need to be sharpened though. Good stuff though
Not bad at all!
It takes to primer brilliantly. I use auto primer too
yeah looking forward to the vid!
Yeah I wouldn't trust normal clays for that sort of thing, stick to proper modelling putties
very nice. Maybe just a little blood or some stains, keep it simple?
I'm on it!!
Nice work Pete, two questions about the McVey dudes, how did you do the leather on the one and the skin on the other?
Love the guy you had at Salute but he doesn't jump out at me, as technically...
Gorgeous Work
Fuck, I had mine put down on the 11th too... I know how you feel. Sorry to hear it
Nice, who did that?
A solid job
It's your best work so far. Pointers I can see are:
If anything, his face is too smooth. At that size, he could do with even more texture.
That said, there are some bits that look like texture is...
Email him. He's a super nice fellow. If he can accommodate you, I'm sure he will
Dramatic!!!
Really like him
Lube. Cheap (I nick it from work as we go through it by the ton) acrylic retarder
Diagnostic radiographer, specialising in cardiac and interventional work (although I used to do MRI too). I also do basic tech support for the dept (to free up IT's time for more important stuff...
Stonking work
Another vote for Halfords. Smooth as hell and an actual primer (ie it sticks to the model well) rather than chaos black which is just black paint. They also do it in grey which is easier to paint...
No, he doesn't seem rational. He should be locked up
Cracking although the photo could be zoomed in more...
Great paint
looks great
Love, really great
http://www.coolminiornot.com/pics/pics16/img52f753fc4cf0c.jpg
Fair play, you've got talent there. Love to see what you could do with a big budget! Are the people from films or people you know?
well it works, a unit of them will look suberb
Maybe have a wire holding it up, with tendrils sculpted over it
Very nice model
yup, liking that
grimdark, love it!
Very clever, very cool
Lovely work. The base, although beautifully done, is too big for my liking though. Love the snow on the ground below
Yeah I was impressed by that one, some fantabulous minis there!
Mortgage, car, food, girlfriend....
Only bought a few models in the last year. Thankfully a few kickstarters that I had paid for came through to give me my fix :D Still have more than I'll ever...
Yeah, the golden era. The fact that my old hex stuff has outlasted some of the newer stuff proves that it's not just rose tinted glasses imo!
We shall see you soon..
absolutely gutted fella...
Nice and grimy, love em
Or you can buy em:

by this guy:...
It's one of those I have always wanted but the price is always higher than I can afford/am willing to afford.
Cool, I like him
He *was*...
Happy birthday
I'd ask him what native American tribe he's from because, chances are, that he's also an immigrant. ..
Cool! I'm glad you have extra shots as it makes more sense then. Awesome scene and great comedy. Can't wait to see the video with the plasma conduits. Also interested in how that paper works
Superb scene, loads of details!
Yup, like him
Pretty cool
Nice and dark, love it, smooth too
Lovely stuff
Your tree is even smaller than mine!! Nice one

http://cdn.iwastesomuchtime.com/121720131444100.jpg
I look forward to seeing it on sunday. It'll win something for sure!
I've been on geek to geek. It's new so still quite small but it's cool when you can be so open about your geekiness...
They look cool
Salute and Euro are the only ones I must go to. As mentioned, there are local shows. Where are you based?
A great piece, congrats on the gold
Good work, been a while since I checked this and you've come on in leaps and bounds. I think that you still need to sharpen some of those details a bit to crispen them up. Have you tried magic sculp...
You won't regret it! It's good stuff
Bloody lovely, how did you do the glass then? DO you just have some broken glass and layer it with the water?
