We will have six models available immediately for pledge rewards. You can see the original art of these models here: http://www.hangar18pinups.com/bawidamann-series. We have another 6 models that we...

Yep, even tho I didn\'t win anything, just 3 honorable mentions, it sure felt good to be back! Especially meetiing with the ever so nice and humble Todd Swanson, Adam Roe, Erven, Brice Cocanour,...
3 entries and currently working on the potential 4th
You\'ll most likely find me at the Demon Lounge - otherwise, I\'ll be wearing my paint club T-Shirt: purple with \"Colorado Miniature Painting...
Yeah! Let\'s make GDLA worthy as the grand finale of all North America Golden Demon show. Reading the posts and see who is coming makes me feel fortunate to compete again this year. I\'ll just sit in...
Congrats on all the winners - looking forward to seeing all pictures of the winning entries.
That\'s a hint guys - post more pics asap, will ya? :D
Hey Matt - it\'d be very nice to see you again. It\'s been... oh... how long since I saw you? Gen Con 2004 was it? :)
Lili
I have nothing done so far. 2 of my entries are not even either assembled or primed lol
Dirty: one thing that Kirk always tells me whenever I have doubt of entering certain mini to a contest: \"Go ahead, enter it. You have nothing to lose\"
... or like Ollie said: \"You won\'t win...
Yeah I\'ll be there this year with couple Colorado painters. Plane tickets and Games Day tickets purchased already. This will also be my husband\'s first experience of entering Golden Demon...
Yeah, unfortunately I won\'t be at ReaperCon this year.
Flynn, that\'d be great if you could accept the award on my behalf :)
Thanks Kathryn for choosing my mermaid as the best in your mermaid...
Hey matti, I live in the US and Ebay didn\'t allow me to bid because you only ship to UK areas :~(
Would you be willing to ship to the US??? Please??? :innocent:
Congrats, Mrika.
100th mini and yet one of your best, IMO. Your diorama/vignette has gotten really good lately.
Cheers,
Lili
I agree with previous posts regarding teammates and painting culture here in the US. I remembered back then before I entered any painting contests, we used to have a large painting group religiously...
Marmoset,
to answer your original question, yes, you will have different winning chances if you go to different GDs. Someone already mentioned that you\'re competing with what\'s the best at that...
I saw a lot of great work there. Thanks for the pictures. Congrats to the winners, especially EricJ for his first demon and Tim for his first Slayer Sword :)

Tim ... I only know 2 Tims: Tim Lison and Tim Holly. So may be Tim Holly?
Amy (amypaintminis) won silver in single fantasy (or was it Large Monster?) last year! And she\'s going again this year. Go Amy, Go!
]:bouncy:

Good luck to all of you! Can\'t wait to see photos of your great work.

No, I won\'t be :( Just can\'t pull myself together to work on modelling project lately as you can see the number of minis painted by me last year :P I was planning on going to Baltimore this year,...
Cocanour. hmmm... a little tribute? :) I wanna see! :) So you\'re not going to GD LA? I\'m skipping this year ... again ... :(
I was planning to go this year, but just got promoted at work, which...
Oh trust me. You\'re not the only one :) My project for GDLA 2004 consumed a ton of hours. I even took couple days off from work and slept only 5 hours every night and it still wasn\'t done on time....
Maybe next year Eric. To me GDLA is the most convenient Games Day compared to the other 3. Baltimore is fun (crabcakes, yummmm!), but the airfare and lodging are a bit much for me. Chicago is fun too...
WOW! Looks like GD LA this year is gonna be great. Almost tempts me to go there this year, but I think it\'s too late to start on even a project now :P
Dirty, I\'ll make sure to go to GD sometime...
That\'s true! My husband\'s store, Valhalla\'s is one of the biggest RPGers and LARPers gather place and almost 30-40% of them are women! :)
Me, myself - I\'m a WFB and WH40K player even tho...

give it a try.... I used Bestial brown as basecoat, followed by snakebite leather.
For highlight, start with bubonic brown -> bleached bone -> white (thin line or just a dot)
The result will...
1. least mold lines
2. joint fits well without having to struggle with super glue or even pinning
3. natural dynamic pose
4. challenging to paint - eg. wide area that needs smooth blending, fine...
I do have to say that people misuse score \'1\' a lot on this site. And on the site like this, the score talks more than personal message.
When you get a 0.5 or even sometimes 3 points drop from...
vince, here\'s how I use FFW:
1. I mix FFW with water 3 part water, 1 part FFW
2. I never really mix FFW directly to the paint bottle. Yet, I mix it on the pallette.
3. FFW is acrylic based...

Ah.. yes.. Monique deNoir.
I agree that\'s one of Jen\'s best work. I like the one that Eric Louchard did, too. But there\'s something on Jen\'s version. Simpler yet very effective technique. Not...
To Mengu, thanks for your comment. :)
You don\'t have to vote 9 just because everybody else does that. You have to vote what you think. Well, now my wolven is at above 8. I hope it\'s not because of...
I dunno if I should weep or just laughing hard, but I did some experiments posting here in the last week.
One thing I noticed, if your fig got posted during weekend noon. it\'s mostly guaranteed...
I rarely have male fig in my collection. So I\'ll vote for the male fig :D
Nadin, I assume you\'re using Mavica digital camera?
Here\'s a tip that may help you get better pic. Digital camera has 2 types of zoom feature. There\'s optical zoom and digital zoom. Optical...
Bent Brush, it\'s true that it\'s harder to paint well on larger fig because it really shows how bad/good your blending is.
I think what these people are trying to say is it\'s easier to put a...
Blue, purple, red, dark green, camo green, bluish grey, yellow, creme/bone color, bluish green (ya know - green mixed with blue)
Problem color:
purple (of course), yellow, black (in highlighting...
My husband got his army deal yesterday and a poster with full listing of the new releases for Chaos.
They are COOL! :D
I love the new daemonettes, the new sorcerer, champion, slannesh champ,...
Hmmm.. maybe we can ask Chern Ann to add another category ie. Size, Manufacturer, etc. and then make the Top 10 for each scale ie. 10 - 15mm, 25 - 30mm and 54mm - above?
what do you think?
Well, I take the \'humble painters\' way ;)
I always prime my minis black and work all the way to the brightest color. To me it\'s easier to do it that way.
I tried priming my Eldar Guardian...
I guess the only way you can replace your pic is to delete the current one and upload the new one. That\'s how I did mine, unless there\'s another way that I don\'t know ;)
Goatman.. you\'re...
Goatman <pat on the shoulder>
just be patient :) Chern Ann mentioned that once you reach over 100 votes than your score will be more stable.
Your irix is great. I can\'t do any better than...
Cool... thanks for all your input. It\'s a great idea to matte varnish everything before adding details and not messing with the earlier painted area. :)
I\'m currently using Citadel matte...
Hi all, got a question here:
I was in such a rush to finish my paint job for a painting competition so I varnished the fig. Now I want to add something to the cloak of the fig.
My question is,...
I also had experienced painting in the living room but it always gets hot fast because my house is facing west, so it gets the evening sun - ugh :( Plus Denver has a very dry climate so my paints dry...
Purnice.. hmm... where can I buy it?
I also like the idea of using foam. What kind of glue did you use to cover the foam?
Sculpting a rock with sculpey can be frustrating especially for me --...
I use Citadel and Geo-Hex paints (Regal Realms & Howard Hues ).
Lately I use Howard Hues alot because of the earth tone that they have (less saturation), and cheap, too! can\'t beat $1.95 for...
OK, has anyone actually pinned a rock/stone and attach it to the miniature for a vignette/diorama? you know, like the one Jen Haley did with her Monique Denoire or you guys just use pure sculpey???
I guess, if you\'re really want to say what you think about crappy mini(s), you may want to say it by using personal message to the painter.
If you post it via Public comments it will be a public...
I played it couple of times with my friend. The rule is pretty simple. You definitely need the card to play, so don\'t lose it ;)
Also remember that Confrontation is a skirmish game not a battle...
Non metallic metallic is a technique on how to paint metallic item without using metallic paint. Honza explained this technique pretty detail on his Razheem (you can find it in CMON - just browse...
I usually take just the front and the back pics
NMM stands for Non Metallic Metallic:)
The mini that you pointed on your link is a Confrontation from Rackham
I play WHFB - I have O&G (1500pts), Dark Elves (>5000 pts), High Elves (1500 pts).
At my local store (Valhalla\'s Game Center), this game is the most popular one in tabletop mini genre.
This...
I use micron pen 005 for painting eyes and I always paint eyes first before I paint the face.

It depends on how dark the skin color that you want to achieve.
For nubian (african), basecoat with Black, follow w/ Scorch Brown and highlight w/ Dark Flesh with a little bit of Snakebite Leather...
I\'ve stopped drybrushing since I found the layering and blending technique (and of course - the popular NMM technique). I sux in drybrushing - dunno why but it\'s always turns out sloppy and dusty....
I\'m a slow painter (at least that what my husband always tells me :))
I\'ve tried so many times to paint a unit in production style -- it never worked and I usually spend 8 - 14 hrs per fig...
Borg (DoubleD),
sure - no prob, I can take the pics of the painting contest at BenCon. Do you just want the winner figs or all the participant figs? And should I send those pics to you?
Keshley
Hi,
I use the Sony DSC-F707 (5MP). The nice thing about the camera is that it lets you do all the manual settings for it (shutter speed, aperture, etc), so even though the lighting is not quite...
That\'s a cool idea! I\'m all for that.
Hi all (especially those who lives in Colorado),
just want to let you know that there\'s a convention coming in Denver, CO area.
Ben Con is a non profit gaming convention and this year they...
