To me, the "or" means "if it fails", because that's the only other option within the context of a morale check....at least as far as i can see in the rulebook.
Edited, they fixed the Castle Walls...
If that's the case, then it's one of the most botched rule writing i've ever seen...as it implies that there is a void existing around the "pass and fail" condition, yet that is outside the context...
My logic may be flawed, i don't know...maybe i am wrong too, but so far that rule had never been a subject of discussion in our games. To us it was clear that the rule of the War Machines took them...
I am not being rude, i am trying to save your time on this one.
I feel you translate it wrongly . The unit must pass (i.e. succeed a test) or suffer consequences. In order to pass a test, the unit...
They might as well start stating "phone with an internet connection recommended" on the boxes...and just stop printing the cards while at it?
It'd be a shame really. This is not a backdoor...
Indeed, and CMON is going along their chronological line too (starting from Robert's death)...at that time Denerys is with Drogo and her dragons are not even born yet.
You may not agree, but that's what it means as written.
If a unit cannot make a type of test, then you can't apply any effect related to success or failure of such a test: the event just cannot...
Yeah the Scorpion Crew and the Stone Throwers won't ever have to take morale check, so they can't pass and they can't succeed either. Paid mutiny states in its first sentence that "that unit must...
There are some on eBay at a "scalper's price"...
Otherwise the stores i usually check are all out of stock on them.
They might have proven a tad popular...pure speculation but i expect a...
I believe the reason they used the plural form (unlike the poor fellow) is because they have 2 occasions to use them.
That's good piece of analysis right there; If you think you'll need Stag Knights, might as well bring he Noble to enhance their purpose. I am still a bit nervous with a 7+ morale unit harboring...
Do you use the Followers of Bone at all with the Weeper?
So, which ones work well with the lists you run?
I'm curious about Mance Rayder...i found him a bit underwhelming. I could see the "cluster" of Morale 6 Raiders and Trappers, but outside of that,...
What commander have you used in those lists?
The starter set promises to be one of high mobility and aggression. All light cavary has not been seen often (if at all), except with the starks under Brandyn Tully...yet Dothraki will hit much...
Interesting to read for sure. With the new panic rules, it's a bit less of a problem to put a valuable attachment on a 7+ morale unit, too. I initially had discarded the sentinels a while ago due to...
Indeed, i think that the whole panic management will change. It's going to be interesting as Bolton players as we'll relearn some tactics. Also the Bastard Girls have entered the more useable range...
Oh for guardsmen i'd say we'll see them a lot, due to the synergy with Lannister supremacy as you mention and the fact that panic-induced wounds bypasses a massive 3+ defense, but perhaps less across...
I must raise my hat to the development team. They really did a good job with the revamp of panic tests.
It was simply too easy to protect against panic, and the Boltons suffered from that. This is...
That's the nice thing about print on demand services. Wargame vault is one of them and Malifaux has been using this for a while now. It's has been very useful to us. They could open the service for a...
As much as i dislike what they did to the Flayed men, i think that the bastard girls will perhaps be fielded more by Bolton players thanks to Vicious on the melee attack. At least i'll definitely...
I've suggested that as well so i wish they'd offer a deal like that. It also makes it more interesting for un-initiated onlookers if the game materials feel of good quality.
I can't decide what unit suits him best: Stag Knights or Wardens?
Stag Knights are faster (that inch matter!) and punch much harder, but they cost a ton...and with Stannis in there, will be having...
It's a combination of many factors, but in the games we've run with them, Giants were key in anything that worked.
Free Folk are made to overwhelm the foe with numbers; their tactic deck is loaded...
As in the title, i guess it's time for the one true king Stannis to have his own forum.
I suppose you're more the target audience then. I care about balance, and i care about theme and coherence just as much. With creativity, theme can always be represented in a balanced manner. I also...
If they focus too much on the competitive crowd, then yes this is what's going to happen (Malifaux is an example). GW is different as they focus their balance on what they want to sell more of.
...
That's still in the wild, but there was an artwork of a Vargo Hoat model with a helmet at one point. I think it was for a Game Night kit #3 set.
Mounted Stannis would make a lot of sense when he...
Yeah there might come a time when it's hard to know if the cards have been modified or not. We don't use smartphones when we play so i hope they do release a pack sometimes to keep track of things.
I echo this sentiment entirely. Boltons are my favorite army theme so far.
After the Blackguards's disappointment, this.
They lost 50% of their resilience with that change, it's absolutely...
Indeed, it's quite a lot of miniatures, but we really like the game/setting and it's the only game of this type that my wife likes (huge bonus there). Admittingly a bit annoyed with 1.5 Flayed men,...
Got the same issue in Qc city with the Thenns. It's actually the only unit i do not have atm.
edit: found them online after all (ontario), 3 of them incoming.
Yeah i didn't mention that one, given she's the "Blue guard" of the rainbow, i suppose that's 100% certain.
I had hoped that Tyrells would be "green" plastic to differentiate them more on the...
So Loras Tyrell, Margaery Tyrell, Olenna Tyrell, Renly Baratheon (like Stannis, perhaps Attachment version or NCU), Randyll Tarly, Mace Tyrell?
Short answer: we don't know
Fun answer:
It'll most definitely be released but there's not been any clues as to when and if the stats will remain the same. There has not been any mounted...
Edric Storm seems to be right, and Andrew Estermont would fit...as he's described as really tall and having a pointy beard.
The fat one could be Axell Florent?
I suppose that this Stannis...
Can we identify everyone?
Stannis, Ser Davos, Melisandre, Selyse and Shereen...but the kid, big fighter and fat one...?
Bone Followers suffer from a comparison to Thenns.
They have the same move, same dice on attack profile, but get +1 attack skill to hit in return for -1 defense. But then things go south: Thenns...
I love the Cave Dwellers for sure, but i've used them more as flankers than main infantry. The combo of both units is excellent as well (Thenns as anvils, Cave Dwellers as hammers).
I wholeheartedly agree, the Thenns are certainly their best infantry unit by a long shot. The only thing i wonder is if they'll become a clutch seen in every single competitive Free Folk army list....
From what i gather they'll have many sculpts over time. Likely they'll start as babies and then infant/juveniles...the books are where its at really, and so far they aren't nearly the size of the...
That version is pretty much unplayable and someone's wet dream.
I agree, but wanted more opinions as i have fielded them twice only. I was not impressed on both accounts. I'll change it to red.
The game is balanced overall, we know this, but i wondered how people perceived the different units within their factions? Here's my ranking:
In black are units of regular value, ranked in power...
I agree, the design seems to attempt to be a force multiplier for the triggers from failed panic checks, but in reality, it's a pretty bad tradeoff for a very marginal chance of getting more...
If anyone has been reading my posts about Blackguards, you probably know my opinion on the Horrific Visage ability.
I've ran alot of statistic checks between a unit having Vicious and another...
Please Delete
I'd probably also use what's already here for tough monsters (until they come up with rules for them). The Giant sustains one wound per 2 failed defense saves so that's an idea. This will allow you...
I think if one unit should have Horrific Visage, it's dragons. Also, they ought to have a morale value. They might not be keen to flee, but usually they are not wounded by anything...most people are...
Agreed, but nothing in the game has this good a chance to kill it so quickly. 11% on the first turn, precisely. We can all understand that the 6pts cost of the Kingsguard needs to be compensated...
The King's guard has been a puzzle for me so far...and with the advent of the Stone Thrower, able to literally pulverize this unit, it's not getting easier.
I get that we need to protect them...
No worries i am as much a fan as you are. They've done a great job so far, and more is coming so what's not to like. I think they suffered some leaks early on within their test files about the units...
They have been around for a while indeed. I suspect that the unsullied artwork for the unit is a placeholder. Shouldn't they be a tad smaller than normal men?
If the bloody mummers are any close...
I was looking at the new Bolton Flayer's card and the old Dreadfort Captain's and kept pondering.
The Dreadfort Captain's appearance makes him fit alot more with the Blackguard (plate armor and...
Yeah, i honestly think it's Cercei's and "Hear me Roar!" tax for that unit. We both agree on its value, this unit is a 5 pointer if you take the Neutral faction alone.
Take a look at p 8 "friendly" definition. It seems that he can heal himself as he is "friendly" to himself by that definition. If they want to be exclusive, they'll use "other friendly.."
Sworn Brothers for sure, there's few things more efficient for 6pts in the game.
The Bastard's Girls are pretty much his signature unit from the neutral faction, the synergy is right there.
Our Blades are Sharp is one of the most destructive card in the game. Since Ramsay has...
Yeah he's a freaking monkey :P
Since it's an order, at least they can only do it once per round.
Btw, do you guys recruit scorpions now that crossbowmen are out?
Agreed.
The difference i can see is that Crossbowmen -can- shift, while the scorpion cannot. So for the scorpion, the "from the front" is sufficient.
A target charging the crossbowmen could...
Sounds about right. In any case, you can always go wild and hire Lannister Knights lead by Gregor Clegane. Few giants will survive: D3 wounds + 9 dice with critical blow and sundering, re-rolled. If...
Yeah Tywin can seriously annoy Free Folk
While Giants don't usually care too much for weakness tokens (2+, even with a forced re-roll, is kind of easy), they really do care for what Tywin+Pycell...
What's funny is that they limited Scorpion Crews to 2 per army, but not Giants.
In any case, if you have access to Vulnerable (through the tactic board or another mechanic), the giants will fall...
It didn't start that way, most things were "soft counters" but we're seeing more "hard counter" things popping out, which i guess is normal if they want to diversify the factions. The most obvious...
Pyromancer Melee is great if you can boost their attack a bit. They have crap defense anyway so don't really care about the gian's ability. If Joffrey is your commander, one of his cards will boost...
Styr is about defense, and those Thenn Warriors will be really useful for him. Good morale (6+!) and decent defense (4+). With protection from charges/flank/rear modifiers, and able to taunt enemies...
Yeah now i think Asmodee is handling all of this. At least i was referred there by CMON's csr last issue i had. Never had a bad miniature though.
That said, i am pretty certain you can get a...
Couldn't find that listing. I assume it's gone.
We haven't done so, at least so far. I have a feeling that objective scoring is part of the game balance, otherwise "deathstar" tactics may prevail too much? How did it go for you?
Any hits (no matter how many) from the giant's attack ability will trigger its effect, causing direct wounds thus cannot be blocked by defense saves. I believe Joffrey Baratheon, First of his name,...
That's probably what i'll do yeah. Too many hammers for my "suspension of disbelief" to work with. I'll definitely convert some of these to swords for a better look, and some of those hammers will be...
My only issue with this is the following extract's note from the rulebook's p24:
Sometimes a unit will be granted an ability it already had, such as playing a Tactics card that grants Sundering...
I agree, at this time i can see no way to prevent the unit from applying both effects. Can't say about the intent. The Precision Enhancement tactic card from Othell Yarwyck prevents defense saves on...
Brandyn Tully and Gregor Clegane as "Mounted Behemoth" version would be a valid target, yes, but not "The Mountain that Rides" as stated above.
What do you mean by "minimum activations"?
75239
Here you go, pretty nice models with 4 sculpts.
So i've received this unit yesterday.
75227
I really like this unit, the miniatures look nice and it is quite deadly too. It's basically elite Lannister Crossbowmen. I do like the weaponry...
This unit is all eggs in a basket. 9 potential hits, with severe drawbacks and some good things (no morale, but can't retreat nor shift and has absolutely no attack in melee).
I'd have thought...
Even though i won't play them, i can't wait for them to be on the table :). It will probably renew some interest too, as i think they are really awaited for.
Seems that Blackguards are definitely going to be like previewed. Oh they'll work fine for Lannister and Baratheon, but i am more concerned for Neutrals (specifically House Bolton).
That said,...
You're correct on this one, but i still believe that the unit should be able to benefit from critical blow. The rulebook does state that similar effects are cumulative.
Your way of reading it could be perfectly right, but what i stated above is a valid (imho) way to read the card though, and i am not "adding" hits during the resolution.
I am applying both...
The wording is different on both effects, so they should stack. IIRC nowhere is it stated that these effects, which are based on the roll, replace the actual rolls to hit (unlike the Giant's Mighty...
I'd think perhaps 10, total. The more time span, the bigger each faction becomes...and at one point the product line is just too large to be sustainable.
So let's see:
Starks
Lannister...
Thanks alot. I was kind of forced to attack walls, last game, because that "awesome bastard" Brandyn Tully (attachment version in a Stark Outrider unit) was so hard to kill.
I do hope that it's not too powerful, that would be bad for the game as a whole. That said, the Baratheons are thematically much more straightforward than say...Lannisters, so it might be easier to...
I wasn't referring to surge forth...i was asking about when they get to activate after the wall is destroyed (be it their work or another's unit), or if they want to move away from it for any reason....
I suppose this has been solved before but just want to run by this forum.
In a recent game we had a question about this. It didn't start any argument or anything but we wondered if we understood...
I wish that the app was available on a normal web browser, but i suppose that's just me.
Walder Frey + NCU Joffrey could be very nasty.
By the way, was the stat card for the Bolton Blackguards on display?
What are the point costs for the units ? my guess was Wardens (5), Sentinel (6), Stag Knights (7)
Bumping this up a bit...i'd like to know how to solve these situations
It also depends on the game size you play at. In 50pts games those units might be easier to fit in.
That said, i agree that some units do raise a few question marks.
The Warrior's Sons are...
It seems that CMON sometimes partially previews cards, like what just occured with the Baratheon Wardens. The first time we saw their card, they didn't have their second ability "target opening". I...
For those of us who aren't too "facebooky"
Here's some interesting info posted by the Bolton Connection (M. Shinall we thank you).

I agree.
Perhaps they are tied to the production cycle of the factory they work with, too...and then it's boats and delays can make things go out of stock for a while.
As for power creep,...
Most of their games go the way of the dodo (i.e. extinct), especially fast in some case, but Song of ice and Fire was supposed to be very different from their usual model.
I do hope they'll fix...
What i could find on the interwebz is a picture of the card on pinterest:
Stormcrow Lieutenant:
Improved Armaments:
When you control [wealth], this unit's Attack rolls +1 die and gains...
That's more than two cents!
Good ideas around for sure. I am also glad to see a recommendation for Eddard Stark. I think he is underestimated in some places (from what i read).
I used them with Tyrion as well. Got them in a good position and forfeited guardsmen activations for extra shots. Their attack is good against anything really. Guardsmen are great for this because...
I come to the same conclusions as Warlax above: The ability is too easy to control by the opponent.
Plus the coming factions will have great morale: Dothraki have like 5+ across the board, and...
I honestly think the Chosen will be exactly like Eddard Stark's Honor Guard: using regular miniatures. They'll probably be included in the Hero Box (with Rattleshirt) rather than the unit box set...
Just posting this in case someone ever wishes to use them:
Amazons and Cowboys health:
We switched the health values between Amazons and Cowboys teams. There are multiple reasons for this but...
Thanks that's quite interesting. Would you place them on the flanks?
I was thinking of using one of these to protect Scorpions flanks. Basically i was thinking of them as the "rank and file" in a...
Let us know how this goes. The situation or opportunity for a "double-zone" combo is not that frequent or optimal, but it's there.
You need to be sneaky in hiding your true intentions, as you need...
Quite correct for the Outriders's ability. Littlefingers still creates some unique combos like getting 2x the effect of a zone in the same turn.
https://www.cmon.com/product/a-song-of-ice-fire-tmg
That should do for the list, then you can always google the name of a box to find pictures of the figures.
Just so you aren't confused, some...
There has to be Guyard Morrigen at a point though, the guy was in both camps and apparently quite valued by both commanders despite the change of loyalty: Renly's "Rainbow Guard" and then he was put...
Ah you're probably right, i read it as if it was one or the other.
For sure the charge is legal.
The alignment option is only relative to the target of the Charge during the attack.
If i was unit C's player, i would charge but make sure i'd shift to a 50% with...
I am really interested in this.
Once the attacker has chosen 100%, at one point unit B will want to align as well...woudn't that move unit C to 50% towards it since it cannot do it itself?...
The last season of the show was a push, but the biggest one will come when the last book is published. Sadly, it'll also be the last until a spin off show gets done. Then, it's up to the community to...
In my very humble opinion here, i can't say how successful it currently is or how long that success is going to maintain itself. The difficulty to purchase a box is either of 2 things:...
Sometimes i wonder if i am just caring a little too much about these things...but anyway.
One of the new cards for the NW is a warmachine modification called "Ready! Aim! Fire!" . That name is...
Ok so we have
Wardens - plate, shield+warhammer (weak offense 3+ defense and 6+morale), kind of a more stalwart version of Lannister guardsmen.
Stag Knights - plate, 2 handed hammer + crazy...
I assume it is because when a unit is "destroyed" it cease to count as being "on the table" for the victory condition. The stark card comes in with a "wait don't remove the models yet!" but it's too...
From what i get of it, the Stark card triggers when a unit "is" destroyed. It means the unit is no longer valid for its presence on the table by then. Basically the Stark player won't have an...
It's been discussed before in shady corners of other forums and these, but typical medieval armies used a lot of spears for their general infantry. Now obviously the 7 kindoms have access to much...
I'm certainly not the most experienced Night's Watch player, and i'd like to know how the dedicated ones have used this unit? I've found that the 8+ morale make it less of a tarpit than i expected...
I see it about the same:
Tully = stay within Starks
Arryn = Neutrals
Tyrell = This is the most complicated to speculate on right now for me. They side with Renly, but the timeline will...
I really like that you took the time to create that nuance within the rules.
In the case of Rickon...would you get the "additional" VP for doing so? The wording seems to indicate the need to eliminate the unit rather than just Rickon, unlike Joffrey whose ruling is worded...
That's what i am afraid of with neutrals as more factions are released. Each unit or attachment must be balanced with every other unit or attachment in the game...even tactic decks combos. I know...
You might be right, in fact let's hope so, because the Black Guards definitely need an extra "omph" to help with the killing.
They are both very strong, with Varys being more popular due to his obvious effect. I'd say Littlefinger might be less used but it's simply a matter of practice. There are ways to create very nasty...
Oh god...yeah, the annoyance! I lost a siege game solely due to that awesome bastard. And you can use your NCU to add insult to injury with the Maneuvre/wealth zone. With Eddard they can heal on...
I think the "cut them down" ability has to cost 2pts (The Hound). Ramsay has it as well (plus theon) for 3pts. That said, Prey on Fear would definitely be something new.
I’m going to go on a limb and state that currently you can’t really go wrong with Starks units you mentioned as far as we found out. They are all great for the job they’re made for, and sort of...
I agree entirely, the current wording is clear even though its implications can be rather extreme when the initial unit fails a charge (enough to make me wonder...)
"Target 1 friendly unactivated...
About that order, a question came up in the Free Folk forums about the Raid Leader:
1. Unit A activates, and use the order "Combined Assault", targeting unit B.
2. Unit A attempts to charge...
I understand that the 2nd unit can't attack anything else...but the failure of a charge is already really costly (especially with raiders), i wish it still allowed the 2nd unit to attempt it on the...
They might be a month late or something. The Game night kit 2 seems impossible to get so far too. That said, i'm in Canada and things got messed up quite a bit here. My "pre-order" for stark and...
Not every unit comes with an attachment, but i do hope you are correct.
Thanks for official answer!
This does bring on many tactical thoughts to mind...if i get the higher roll, and want to avoid facing a defender with 3rd round "first player" flank charge, i ought to...
I've not seen anything like it but...then again i don't follow facebook much. When did you hear about it? If it is as you say, I could see the Flayer into the cutthroats even more...as cut them down...
It's the only game of this type that my wife likes to play...so it got the vote for the all-in.
We had 2 of everything so far, but it's been really hard to follow up this spring as retailers are...
The starters are pretty good value to get into bigger game sizes, but it's best to go in sequence:
1. Pick the starter from your favorite faction.
2. Figure out which commanders you like to play....
I wonder if they'll include a new attachment. The Dreadfort Captain certainly looks the part already, but if they get something new, i hope it grants vicious.
It'd be very interesting for the...
I play the boltons alot, it's in fact my favorite "faction", but i have much more experience with Roose than Ramsay. Reason for that is purely thematic.
I find out that Ramsay loves his Girls and...
If it had remained vicious at 7pts, i'd have been much happier, really.
It's starting to show it's age but still i think it still applies geneally.
That said, how do we post links? it keeps being flagged as spam and i can't post for 15+ minutes.
Alternatively,...
In many cases for us, the attacker must destroy at least 1 wall to achieve victory.
One of my primary reasons why i thought the attacker had to get the first turn is the defender's reinforcement...
The one who rolled the highest can also give the choice of deployment zone to the other player.
It's just that, thematically, it's a rare thing to see the besieged take the initiative.
Perhaps we didn't get the full spoiler of the unit, though.
As the title says...i wondered if the attacker was always the first player in a siege?
Yeah, though i would wonder at what impact he actually would have in a battle...then again, we do get Arya.
I have the exact same list for the Heroes set 1. Since they need to add attachments useable by both, they likely will add Guyard Morrigen (who was part of Renly and then Stannis's army).
I wonder...
This explains why Melisandre is not in the set. They wanted it to be almost fully useable by both kings.
As a side note, i expect the baratheons to be the next faction to get a 2+ defense cavalry.
ha! thank you so much...i was certain that something was wrong and i couldn't remember it for some weird reason while toying in the asoiaf builder.
Solved - please ignore
One unit i'd want to see is "peasants levy" neutral troops with spears. A Generic spear infantry to represent the barebone fighting unit of the 7 kingdoms. We're clearly lacking in spears atm.
I do hope most troops will be useable by both (would also make more sense financially...otherwise some unit sets might not be sold as much), i think it's mostly for characters that it'll be seen....
I still wished we had green miniatures for the Tyrells :P
Thanks for that, i'm not that far in the books so i had assumed that the show would at least follow this. Seems not!
Then what do you think of Tyrells?
With the targaryens announced, it i am happy to see the scope that the game is taking on. We have many factions but some questions remain on a few of them:
Others/White Walkers
Tyrell
Greyjoy...
Indeed, what remains to be seen is if he'll be a commander or an attachment (unless that too has been released?)
The Thenns are really one of my favorite unit theme for the Free Folk. I wonder if we'll get the Magnar to lead them as a commander or an attachment. Have we seen their stats yet?
The Bolton...
We managed to get them to change "Stark Longbowmen" to "Stark Bowmen" , so they did care about some of history's lesson.
I knew you'd bring the usual "but it's a world with dragons" thing...and i'll leave it at that.
Very interesting. Indeed when jousting, dueling, for ceremonial or social events, anything goes and displaying an impressive helm can work. For sure, one of the oaths of the Stag Knights include that...
I can't wait for the baratheons to come out...but there's one itch: The Stag Knights
The stag knights look very odd...stag antlers on a full helm belongs to high fantasy more than anything. ASoIF...
They need to get faith tokens to "buff" themselves up, but it should occur in a High Septon list. I am quite curious on how this list would perform. Once the poor fellows will be released, it might...
They are quite good by Free Folk standards, so i could see more than one unit in a list. They are fragile though...and i think they need the cover of infantry (raiders) or a bulwark unit (giants) to...
To be honest, while they are called "stark bowmen", they fit the bill quite well and they are probably the best you could ever ask for House Tully. The ability to shoot over units is perfect to "rain...
The giant's attack ability will trigger as soon as it scores a hit.
The Tully Sworn shields ability would also trigger, but in this case it is futile: blocking a hit doesn't prevent the hit from...
Oh yeah, i look forward to get hands on that unit. They're also our best bet to put Roose and especially Ramsay as attachments.
1v1v1 are tricky to build/balance a force for, imho. Now for 1v1 i have a decent grasp of neutrals (Boltons) so i can discuss more.
The big deal with your list is the 2x Flayed Men. That alone...
I think they will get long range, it doesn't make sense for crossbows to be shortranged. That said, i expected the scorpion to be the long range unit for NW
The short range trackers are really...
As far as i know, it's just a curiously formed spacer :)
Flayed Men are not just nasty on paper, they're really scary to fight against...and that's the whole point of Boltons in general.
That being said, there's a few things to consider with the Night's...
You can't go wrong with your list, really. It's just good.
Our experience with the Night's watch is that it can take on pretty much all comers rather easily, but we've also noticed that they...
You're right, it would be far too good to be true :)
In fact you only trigger the giant's rule once.
That's because the rule for the giant's Mighty Swing is "if this attack generates any hits"...
To further the thought-box, here's my view of the attachments available:
Dreadfort Captain: Probably the best bet to keep costs slightly more reasonable and help with the generation of panic...
We surely agree on their purpose. As you say, they seem to be dependent on attachments to get more out of Horrific Visage. The engaged unit will be taking twice the tests, but won't fail by as much...
As far as i remember, I think our guess so far (since it's been discussed a bit) is : Harma Dogshead, Ygritte, Rattleshirt (The Lord of Bones) then it's a toss up with The Magnar of Thenns, the...
I ran into the same issue as well here (Canada). So i've been unable to pre-order anything since the deal with Asmodee.
Also possibly a dervish unit, typical of desert folklore/mythos
With the latest release of their card, i am pondering at what they mean for neutral forces atm. We certainly understand how great they'll be with Lannister elements (Cercei, Lannister supremacy, The...
That's seriously long shot speculation, but i expect light infantry with javelins and spears, then light cavalry with the same sort of weaponry. They'll certainly have bowmen too. Their words is...
Don't despair for the Greyjoys. At first we can think they don't count for much, but this game is about the war of the 5 kings after all, and in every rulebook, there is a part about Balon Greyjoy. ...
Can't find them, let me know if you've got any clue.
Thanks!
Yeah i would appreciate that too.
That's why i think Denerys might be available both as NCU and NCU commander. They both might provide access to dragons, though perhaps in a different magnitude.
Also, the dragons might not be entirely controlled...which could imply that they sometimes fry one of your unit or refuse to stay into battle. This unreliability could help balance their power.
That's a long shot...but here goes:
Units:
Unsullied infantry (great morale, good defense especially against charges)
Dothraki light cavalry (great offense and mobility)
Freed Slaves (cheap...
It depends on the scenario. See the giants as massive pillars around which your rather unreliable clansmen run around. They are both anchors and hammers. So you have to apply those pillars where...
Stating the obvious here, but the followers of bone will go along the tactics of our friendly Lord of Bones...whatever he may do. I agree that vicious is a likely trait among them. I don't expect...
They are quite slow to flank with, and won't be able to stop cavalry from passing through. However they are tailor-made to hold an objective, wherever that may be.
Anyway, we'll see how they turn...
The Tully Sworn shields also have a 3+ attack, which is great for a defensive unit. I agree that Starks will prefer Cutthroats (cheaper, anyway). Also, you won't feel their abilities are identical...
As an attachment, i agree he's good, but I am a fan of Roose as a commander so i often forget about it :). That said, sitting on an objective in the middle of the battle usually get some attention. ...
That's what i've done so far and i agree, it leaves much room for creativity (and thematic lists).
I'll definitely try them in a Tormund's list, in which Tormund is actually attached to the Cave Dwellers.
The idea is to have a Raider unit with Raid Leader nearby. It'll charge in and activate,...
Yeah but in game terms i believe there'll be just one Baratheon faction, otherwise the Faith Militant would have been on its own as well. It's entirely possible they keep him for the Tyrell faction...
Good question. I certainly expect Stannis's force to have great morale, but it might only come from him rather than be across the faction. You know what, i expected them to have a bit of everything,...
I agree he's hard to design, but the thing is, they were the same faction in the lore. Sure it didn't last long for Renly, but since we can play with Ned Stark leading an army...the game allows us to...
Something to chew, at last! From the On the Table Gaming facebook page :

That unit will be much better than cutthroats to take objectives with. Now i understand what Michael Shinall was...
Speculation
Starter set Commanders : Stannis, Renly
Starter set NCU: Melisandre, Ser Davos Seaworth (if one of the two is not in the box, then it'll appear in the heroes set 1)

My post came out wrong maybe, i didn't think you were doubting it. I am not the OP, but i just wanted to give you clues as where to look for the info. Sadly, that's the only thing we know :P
