They used to be worth quite a fair bit. Not sure nowadays, as there are a great many things that equal or surpass the sculpts.
I'd venture to say a vorag would still easily fetch $50 or more,...
Sounds like you are aerating the paint, or if it's solid flecks, you will need to strain the paint. Pics?
I paint it straight out the bottle, with a lot of weybkending, but it may not be to your...
Word.
A toast to Dragonsreach!
Nobody wanted to them, so I gave them away to a mate.
AoW has a lot of nice models, but they're quite badly engineered. They are also severely sloppy with packing - I have a lot of their blisters, all missing pieces.
Have you tried the baking soda /...
That link gives a 404 error.
I think the store is stuffed. Better off searching eBay and FB trade pages.
There was a recent Kickstarter to reboot Dark Sun. No associated miniatures, but an updated ruleset, IIRC. It likely a specialist collection at the moment.
Personally, I don't know any Dark Sun...
They are very, very old. Originally made by Ral Partha, IIRC.
What exactly do you want to know?
Ah, I can't help then. I don't collect Westerners or Saracens.
Yew, of course. But what Helldorado stuff exactly?
Are you after starters, or specific units, or characters?
Doesn't matter. Couldn't find it in the house. It's probably in the Storage King warehouse.
Do you have a list of other things you want? It's a tough gig to dig stuff up, and I don't really want...
I think I have the original starter box of Immortals somewhere.
But shipping from Australia means the costs would be quite high, and may not be cost efficient.
You can easily achieve a colour transition by wetblending undiluted paint.
Good to hear.
I've used Hasslefree since forever, and they're good folks. Unfortunately, they ran into troubles some years back, and because they are small, it snowballed and they got in way over...
Sally says that they got a communique from you yesterday and your issue has been resolved. I guess that means the only thing left is to wait for your loot :).
Well, give me your order number and email address, and I'll ping Sally about your case.
They've had significant problems. Stalk them on Facebook - Sally is pretty active and responds there.
I remember seeing these on Kickstarter. Never bothered backing due to price point. And I got enough big beasties.
Very cool sculpts, unfailingly polite customer service albeit somewhat slow and incompetent, and a weird resin mix that is bend rather than brittle.
And an absolutely excessive amount of mould...
Stalk them on Facebook. They're pretty regular about posting stuff on their Facebook page, including delays and resolutions. HF have been slow - one order took 2 months to get to me, but I'm never in...
Aye, congratulations!
I will take Death, mate.
Nuts! DR got in before me :).
That's a fairly rare and expensive piece, treat her well.
Yeah, sorry, I haven't checked my messages on CMON for years. Add me on Facebook - my name is 'Kelvin Goh', my profile pic is my wedding pic.
I'll put you in touch with Scott and Paul. You may...
Very nice project!
Among the artists who may be able to help you would be Craftworld Studio, Scott Hockley, or Jessica Rich. It may be tough to get hold of either Scott or Jess, but they do good...
Different artists do freehand differently, but all exquisite. What, exactly, are you after?
Bohun does geometric tessellation really well, while Natalia Sobol (sp) does filigree real up well, and...
They post regularly on Facebook about the issues they face. It's probably easier to hit them up on Facebook.
Lack of time is my primary driver. But also because it is like art - I want to see the interpretation of an artist that I like, and have that on display for my enjoyment.
I'd suggest hitting them on Facebook and asking about your order. AFAIK, they are still trading.
That's rather unusual. I consistently buy from Hasslefree because they regularly deliver to Oz without any drama.
Karol Rudyk's new Chaos Dragon is a beefier version of Galrauch, if you're after an alternative.
The Titan Dragon is still available from CMON. Your version is also no longer pristine.
I reckon it would be less valuable than the CMON version, but I'm no expert in valuation.
I would...
Just looks like standard MDF terrain. What's so special about it?
It just means that any data sent between yourself and CMON shop is not encrypted. This makes it vulnerable to a sniffing, a sort of electronic eavesdropping. There's easier ways to grab your...
Banshee has mixed these styles successfully. Iirc, he did a 75 mm Colossus in this way.
I'd just pick up some bottles of P3 Coal Black. It's really useful as a all-around shade colour.
There's special glasses for the colourblind, but they re expensive. But they may be an avenue - search for Chroma glasses or something.
No way, mate. I've left resin in there for a week. There's no effect on it.
That's unusual.
I've used Biostrip on resin, plastic, and metal with excellent results. Nothing like this blotchy thing you wound up with.
White is the lightest possible colour for a highlight, and contributes to contrast. While important, it isn't the alpha and omega, and one can achieve contrast through careful colour selection.
...
The green skin is pretty well done. I would suggest pushing your highlights to pure white.
Higher contrast, in terms of darker shades and brighter highlights. Also, contrast in terms of colour selection - you have this somewhat in the red and green, but the grey bones aren't bright enough....
By converting to greyscale, we can see that your paint requires contrast. We can do this by highlighting to pure white, and adding green to your base red to shade.

You have a couple of things I'd like (the Last Bard and the girl bust), but I'm afraid to ask what shipping is like to Sydney.
There's a post on the homepage of CMON, stating that they're overwhelmed by the volume of orders. They estimate backlog will be shipped by end Jan or something.
2nd from right is the Crow, from Rackham Confrontation. Out of print.
Would you mind dropping me a PM on Facebook, instead, please? I very seldom come in here any more. I'm 'Kelvin Goh' on Facebook, with the profile pic of my wedding photo with my wife.
I've got a spare Ninja Lady I'm never going to paint.
Done. Nice work!
What mould lines there are remain horrendous to clean. I am still not impressed with pvc.
I will happily take finecast over PVC and restic.
Guilaume Vanson or Erick Sosa on Facebook possibly have expertise in this.
Daniel Kelly, also on Facebook, would be able to tweak the models suitable for 3D printing once STL files are delivered to...
I've been a while around, too, but I hardly come here any more. Facebook has replaced the vast bulk of my forums.
I used to buy an awful lot of stuff from CMON. But lately, I've been seeing a few of these types of posts, and I'm glad I've curbed my buying significantly.
Seems like we're returning to the good...
Charles Agius has been around a whole, but hasn't released anything recently, I think. I got the studio version of Azrat, it's really well done. I also got Mara somewhere.
Really nice sculpts, but...
Many of the folks I got to know on groups in Facebook all credit painting with their partial recovery. The most serious case was a veteran who got shot in the head. He survived, but suffered PTSD and...
Suggest you search the galleries for work you like, then contact the artist in question.
I have work from several artists, and I can personally recommend Cathy and James Wappel, Shoshie Bauer,...
I would personally recommend Aleksandra Cana (Craftworld Studio in Serbia), Shoshie Bauer (Chicago), Jason Fowler (Australia), and Tommie Soule (UK).
I would avoid the bigger studios, such as Blue...
I'm not seeing any items for sale on that link.
How much is shipping to Australia? I would like the Lion Knight 2nd.
Try James and Cathy Wappel on Facebook, DR. Maybe Shoshie Bauer, too, as she lives near Chicago.
Mate, I think we all understand. Losing somebody is non-trivial.
I'm starting to see reviews of Creature Caster stuff on Facebook groups I frequent. The reviews are more often positive than not.
I'm not sure if this is Shiny Syndrome at play, or they genuinely...
Mike is quite ill, still, I think. Check out Ben Komets on Patreon, he's kind of taken over producing vids and tutorials.
AnotherPainter - terrain tends to be heavy. Shipping by air may be prohibitively expensive. It's the OP's call on shipping method, and insurance against loss or damage is always available.
This entire Trump affair reminds me of how Pauline Hanson and Obe Nation came to power in Oz.
That's about all I care to say - goodness knows Dragonsreach is sick of all my posts on Facebook by...
Some folks on FB even pointed out that the painted Spider Demon was photoshopped, rather than painted.
Now they're opening the Creature Caster store.
...
Wow, I had no idea these issues were so prevalent!
No, sorry, mate. I already sent off a box to Redpiano.
Also catch Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood on Youtube. It tells you part of the story when Noctis got hurt as a child.
I finished a Helldorado army in 2016.
My resolution in 2017 is to finish a Khorne Bloodbound army. And possibly get started on a new Confrontation Griffin Templar army for Confrontation EVO.
Mate, I do, but shipping from Oz can be really expensive.
I wasn't every impressed. I keep seeing Bones models being dumped in miniature exchanges, which is why I no longer participate in them. I even received a few - they all uniformly went in the trash....
I found a big bunch of SMOG stuff. This is a range of OOP 54mm resin models that were uniquely weird and wonderful.
$50 USD a blister, plus post.
But buy 2 blisters or more, and I'll offer...
It's just incentive. How is it any different than calling thr mail order line cause the first 100 callers will receive a free dishcloth?
Got to put more of my KD stuff up for sale. Everything is NIB.
1. Illuminated Lady Encore - $50 USD
2. Gryphon - $250 USD
Quote prices do not include shipping.
Please feel free to haggle....
I think the concept art was done by Eduard Guitton, the same guy who did Confrontation artwork.
Hi everybody,
Unfortunately, due to a lack of interest, I will be cancelling this project.
The good news is that, quite literally, all the stock is in. Every single miniature in this...
Don't think anybody has one at 32mm.

In our latest update, I took more zenithal-primed shots of the miniatures. Please drop by the Kickstarter and take a browse.
Thank you for looking.
Hell Paladins, Warrior Elite...
In our latest update, we have zenithal-primed pics of the Hell Paladins and Fei Dao, and a scale shot.
Tomorrow, we will have similar pic of the rest of the miniatures.

Phoenix Miniatures first Kickstarter, the Unknowning Dead, is now live!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1873471704/phoenix-miniatures-the-unknowing-dead
Please share with all your mates.
I found that if I start from something like Skorne Red, it looks brown, not red. I used to do reds the way you described, from an average red-brown, but it always turned out far too dark. This time,...
Thanks, Max. So, deeper shades on the skin I can do. The white highlights on the red, though, if I understand you correctly, these are too prominent, too forced?
I don't care about the snipers,...
Thanks, Dragonsreach. How can I remediate those weaknesses? I'll have another go at the skin, I think I know how to fix that, but how could I fix the red?
Hi everyone,
Here's my latest submission: http://www.coolminiornot.com/400252.
However, I'd like some commentary on it. I thought this was one of my better pieces, but the scores do not...
Oh, no, I haven't even cleaned and prepped my entry yet ;)!
It's finally happened. Good luck, world.
Easiest way is probably to look for one on Facebook groups. Gw stores also have local competitions from time to time.
Happy to take the Scarecrow and the Prowler, mate. Please drop me a PM and we will sort things out.
I wasn't too impressed after watching this video review. I reckon I'll just stick to my Tamiya Clears, they seem more versatile.
https://youtu.be/MtJMjnTdzWk
If you get in a bind, I can do a model or two for you right now, to get you started. Have a look at my gallery for ideas.
Out of curiosity, who did you go with? What quality are you after?
Shoshie Bauer (get her on Facebook) is highly reliable, but she's only free in Jul (sorry, I chewed up her June schedule). She's...
Moloch looks very interesting. Not a fan of Siren's wings - I don't think they suit her, and take away her grandeur.
Sticker shock is very real when you first look at commission painting. I remember my first time receiving a quote well.
Honestly, $40 for standard quality is pretty good. You will pay easily...
Den of Imagination did a single model for me way back. The communication was professional and civil, but the work was substandard. I was highly not impressed. They appear to specialize in big,...
Best thing to do is probably to trawl through the galleries of painters who catch your eye.
I have worked with a few professionals, and I would recommend James Wappel, Jillian Walker, Shoshie...
The 'green glow' from under the armour is not readily apparent. The armour looks gold, in its own right, albeit a bit washed out (a green glaze over gold will do that) - it will need some...
My specific process would be:
1. Basecoat black.
2. Stipple Model Air Metallic Black on the upper half of the carapace.
3. Stipple Model Air Aluminium on the upper third of the carapace.
4....
Suggest using iridiscent paints. Could probably also try a metallic stippling and then hitting it with a thin coat of a candy paint.
Will post a review of sirts when I get them.
Just bought a bunch to try.
I got it! I will do Azael, the iconic Acheron sorceress. Facing her will be heroic Griffin Templars.
Albeit doomed Templars.
I have read a lot of good reviews on these. Never tried them personally, though.
He was in the trailer. He was ... doing something else before he got caught up in this fight.
Jessica Rich needs no introduction. She penned a short article for a blog on painting, and posted it on Facebook.
I've shared it here, as it is a good read, and some points she makes deserves to be...
I will definitely have time to do this one.
Mash-up sounds really appealing. I have a Deadzone 1st generation plague that will do as Abomination or Hulk, or maybe a Helldorado Greater Demon of...
Sure, mate, I'll take it. I dropped you a PM requesting the total cost, too. I'll Paypal once I get the total amount, including shipping.
OK, I will take it. How much shipping to Sydney, Australia?
The Rackham zombie just sold for $31 USD on eBay. If you wish to get rid of it, I would pay the same amount for it.
Done. Hope you get a good sample.
Rosemary & Co. series 22, size 2 or 1.
Having discussed this with a couple of miniature manufacture companies, the average profit is 20%. There's a company that does 40% profit, but that is split between a number of partners. My own...
Sent you a message, mate.
I have the dark angel army from nova charity, a few years ago, that Mike Cho participated in. Would this be something you are interested in?
I will take everything, depending on price. How much do you want?
Thanks! Appreciated. I'm sure I will hit the WoK stuff first.
Received my stuff from Khonner. Thanks!
Er, I don't recognize any of this stuff.
Max is absolutely right - you cannot 'hope' that the public will love your product. There must be some concrete driver for it.
When I say 'pilot', I mean to create a model in limited run, say, 50...
Brilliant, thanks! I've got a big collection of assorted old Warzone/Chronopia, this will fit in nicely :).
I've just started doing this, and it appears that the steps are just about the same as any other company.
1. Identify a niche your models would fill, i.e. target audience.
2. Test if there is...

No, I don't. I just hit him up on Facebook.
1.75 inches translates to about 45mm. It's quite a bit larger than standard size (which is normally 30mm).
I honestly couldn't say how much it would be, because there is no standarized scale. It...

Ah, OK, now I see, you need a high end digital printer. Cexwish is the only guy I know of, as I stick to traditional methods.
At what stage of production are you at?
They look 3D printed to me, but I'm no expert. I had all of my stuff hand-sculpted; as you noted, this does take quite a while.
You could also contact Max Cexwish from Massive Voodoo; he's got a...
What about sculpting by hand and then casting? There's plenty of very skilled casters around, and I can recommend a resin caster if you want one.

Thanks, folks. Please remove my name, Webmonkey. I'll see what I can get done, but I have doubts about me finishing this at all.
Oh, the poopy nappies happened already. I was carrying him, and bam! All over the place. Ah, well. It's that sticky myconium, too.
Thanks, everybody.
I withdraw. My son has just been born.
Yeah, that would work. I've come up with a crazy idea to hide her one-footed-ness, by building a base with a recess so I can pour in some tinted resin. Let's see if it will work. I'm building the...
Ah, sod it! In prepping my model for this challenge, I accidentally lopped off her foot. I'm going to need to find another suitable miniature now.

When!
More models? Lots and lots of models :) !
There're so many to choose from - Nocturna, Pegaso, GW .....
Brushes. Paint. A willing model.
Maybe a medic on hand wouldn't go amiss, too.
Will try. I have a couple of Effin Cool Minis models that show a lot of flesh that would suit this challenge.

Bohun has quite clearly stated why he quit P&P.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Enjoy yourselves, but so much that you would want a paramedic to know what you'd been up to :).
CMON has been a popularity contest for a long time now. I use it mostly as a repository of my pics. The votes don't mean anything to me. Of late, though, I have become quite interested Iin seeing how...
I like the Mierce cyclops.
Water. Agitate rapidly and apply before it separates again.
I've also heard of folks that have experienced success using olive oil neat.
If there's frosting, try re-spritz the Dullcote in a warmer, albeit drier, environment. If that doesn't fix it, paint over with diluted olive oil, leave dry overnight, then re-spritz.

While I would love to watch this , I doubt I will get to in the cinema. So many things happening at the moment!
The models are really nice. I've got some of their first Kickstarter stuff. Resin-y, easy to clean, sharp detail, and best of all - very reminiscent of Rackham :).
Ares Mythologic and Nocturna currently take the cake for me, for fantasy. They both do 54mm and 70mm.

Thank you for the response, Dragonsreach. I understand it's really hard to gauge with the survey, as I cannot show anything, so thank you very much for the time and effort.

I am trying to do a market survey with respect to my new line of miniatures. I would appreciate your responses. This survey closes on Fri, 23 Oct.
Thank you.
