I made two sets of horns for the little weirdo, but he didn't like them. I think the pipes on the back of his head just interferes with them. So I settled on giving him more jaw, and some ears, to...

I made two sets of horns for the little weirdo, but he didn't like them. I think the pipes on the back of his head just interferes with them. So I settled on giving him more jaw, and some ears, to...
Man this looks great!
I like him a lot, the complimentary colors work super well together, with the bright cloak triangle shape focusing on his face.
I like that almost everything below his belt...
Thanks Dexter! That is a good point, the head is too small. I am thinking about adding a lower jaw, and maybe some cyborg eye augmentation, to buff it up a bit.
Horns sound fantastic though, I'm...
Ok, a couple of things: THIS IS GREAT!
I love the highlighting on the armor. It give the shapes extra volume where it counts.
It is very neatly painted, something I still struggle with.
The...
Thank you Graishak! Yes, I am planning to make some gangs of scavengers and whatnot, going to try and do them loose and fast, so in order to not spend way too much time on the heads and guns,
I...
Nice, I like the color choice, they work!
This looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the way you shade the material in contrast to the gems, amazing contrasts.
Simply stunning - all that hard work & effort paid off. The highlights on the wings are spectacular, and the subtle work on the face is great. Well done!
Thanks! Haha! That news print is super old, I don't think anyone wants that batch of Doritos anymore :)
Thanks ekipage, much appreciated!
Thank you Dexter! Yeah I'm super happy with it...
Super cool Dex, love the direction you are taking this.
Definitely going in the right direction here! Looks awesome.
The master of intricate detail right here. It looks gorgeous Jocelyn!

StToad you are killing it! You are really nailing these skin tones, eyes, teeth, they look utterly fantastic. And your painting is not just technically great, it is expressive as hell.
It is...

That does look good, the transition works! Congrats on finishing something :p
Looking forward to the gold NMM!
Man this is epic. The texturing is out of this world!
And congrats on getting on Volomir's list, well deserved!
This looks fantastic! I love the colors of the orc's face and all the metal bits too, but everything else looks just as good. The textures on the leathers, cloth and the wood are all super cool. Well...
Hey Graishak! I think you did a great job, especially on the freehand stars, they look much crisper and sharper. The face has got a bit more color to it too :)
As a follow-up, especially now the...
Hi everyone, sorry for my long absence. For some reason I was being blacklisted, and couldn't post. I contacted CMON and managed to get them to sort it out with the 3rd party service provider.
Still...
This looks really interesting my friend. A great looking model, and I can see where you are going with the paint job. Have you made any further progress on this?
Epic work StToad! Love the lighting on this guy.
Looking forward to where this is going, the start you've got on the base is solid!
I'm glad you are on the mend, and I'm sorry about your dad's loss. I'm happy you can spend time with your son and paint.
The mini is looking great, keep it up!
Man, fantastic work. The tinkerbell piece is beautiful, and you did a super cool job on those feathers.
The dwarf piece is epic. I love all the little highlights on the base, and the paint job on...
Such epic work man, Morty looks phenomenal, and the Assasin is great. Nice going!
Great work on the Sister, the glow effect works very well.
It breaks down a bit in the transition on the cloth, where the glow fades into the red - what I would suggest is to make that transition...
The vampire looks great. The paint job is clean, the cloak has some cool gradients.
Personally I think your nurgle stuff looks better, but I don't think this looks bad. It might be an opportunity...
Wow the eyes look amazing.
It might just be the lighting / camera settings, but the skin has a kind of greenish tint. Did you intend for that? I think it looks great. She's clearly and android :) so...
This looks fabulous! Your first miniature you say? Makes it even more impressive!
I love the look of the oily metals, and the base is great.
Looks great man! I take it she'll have the signature glowy eyes?
Thank you so much John, it makes me happy to share my work with people like you around :)
Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words!
Thank you very much Kretcher - gotta keep up...
Both these space marines looks amazing man, the one with the shiny NMM is awesome - voted & commented.
The speedpaint looks great too, tight and focused. Well done!
These look super cool Sphynxy! That baby is the most terrifying of the lot. :D
Nice job on the marine, I like the chipped armor and weathered leather. Crisp!
Flesh-coat-guy looks pretty cool. I have a suggestion: paint some freehand lines with a darker flesh color on the coat,...
Beautiful job Arkaan! Such an amazing amount of colors, and it reads super well, the work you've put into the textures is awesome.
Man, this is next level Rhett! Everything is in just the right place, perfect! Not only the colors, but the values too. Magic!
Wow, those marines look cool. The super smooth bluewhite armor, the flaming sword, the smooth cloak (love the colors), awesome!
This is some awesome work Graishak! I love Uncle Nurgle, the way that dark yet shiny orb of an eye peeks out from underneath the rotting cloth is super cool.
The whole piece is stunning!
These look awesome BaM, they look like they have an extra 1/4 inch of crust rust all around with leaking pus and ooze. Great!
Well done, I think the wings look stunning! That is some super cool subtle blending between the different shades.
Very nice, I like his eyes, and the skin looks suitably nasty.
eki, this is phenomenal! Under the normal light this bust looks simply stunning. I think you nailed the cloth, the skin, the gems and especially the eyes - they are beautifully done.
And under the...
I've been working on and off on the Joe Pineapples sculpt, mostly because I got stumped on the furry trim on the collar of his coat. I tried a couple of different methods to reproduce the look of the...
This looks amazing ekipage, I love the eyes too - you nailed them.
The dark skin tone also looks great.
Regarding the clothing, maybe change the hue a tad (make it warmer or colder) in the...
These look awesome Kretcher! So much character!
That is a fantastic looking model, I can tell you are having fun with it!
Crust supreme right here!
This looks amazing, the metal texture is awesome. I know those dots are getting to you, but I have to say they look great too.
Looking forward to where you go with her skin and face.
Mate, that looks awesome! I think the way the texture goes smaller on the curve of the backdrop sells the effect 100%, and painted up it looks even better.
Keep talking to us, we are listening :)
This looks freaking awesome, well done! Love the heavy crusty rust weathering, and the slimy goey disgusting mess is fabulous.
seconded, the leather looks great!
And the skin, the face, the beads, everything :)
I think it was a wise choice to change the dress color. The blue contrasts well with the darker skin. But to be honest I have no experience painting non-caucasian skintones though, so you are on your...
Welcome to this forum, glad to have you here.
I have a love-hate relationship with stripping a mini - if it is one I really want to paint well, and don't mind the work, I'll strip it. (Ebay...
I'm sorry to hear about the diverticulitis, hope you recover soon. Man, that's a shock about the Covid, I'm glad you didn't get very ill.
So far I don't know many people who have gotten it, but it...
Love the work on the giant squig too!
I agree with BaM, the minis look great and you are absolutely killing it with the bases!
The stone texturing on the dread pirate's base looks amazing.
That's a striking color scheme, I love the black edging between the reds & whites. It really pops!
It is looking great so far! If you can get another print with the modifications, great - but otherwise I think this will still kick ass!
I salute your patience and determination. Keep going please, I think it will turn out stunning!
The AoP board looks fabulous, and I love what you did with the Blightlord!
Voted and commented on both of these!
Stunning work, as always!
Dude, these are super cute. Happy New year too!
Superb work Graishak! Man, starting off 2021 in style!
Love the weathering you did on the Reanimator. The colors you used work very well together.
Also the little OSL dwarf looks good, I think you nailed the effect.
Super awesome!
Superb work on the deathguard my friend.
I'm glad your family members recovered, pressing thumbs for you. Stay safe.
That is a tremendous start on the barbarian, love it!
Nice work! That is a pretty cool Dredd sculpt.
Most excellent work! Blender is a tough nut to crack, I can do basic stuff in it but that's it.
Do you have access to a hackerspace somewhere? They might be able to print it for you, maybe even for...
Welcome! Nice work on the paintjob, I like the model too.
Thanks mate, much appreciated!
Happy new year everyone, hope 2021 is a year of recovery for all of us.
Looks great Graishak! Happy new year too!
Here's to a much better 2021 for you. Looking forward to what you conjure up with this awesome sculpt!
The final piece looks great! Love all the colors you have in play, the green goes well with the desaturated blue and the bright orange. Very cool piece.
Thanks! yeah, that's what 2 years of the forever war does to units :)
Thank you maxwin, i really appreciate your kind feedback!
To answer, yes, all of these are scratchbuilt from paper &...
Wow, impressive work!
Stunning work StToad!
As much as I love the ruddy skintones and wrinkles on your last couple of pieces,
this is almost more impressive - I find drawing females a lot harder than males, because...
Love the disco demon! And the metals on berserk dude look great!
Love the tentacles Graishak! Very cool.
Awesome work!
Superb! Sorry about the earpiece, but then again, I'm sure you'll be able to scratchbash something cool for it.
The glowy panels look awesome.
Man, such amazing work. Glad to have you back again.
Love the necrons, and that Joss figure looks great.
The hot pear, um, I mean air balloon is such a cool conversion ;P
As for the primer not...
Excellent! Love the gold on this guy, and his face is looking pretty awesome!
Nice work! The final piece looks very cool, lots of interesting details.
So people usually put varnish on minis to protect the paint job, especially for pieces that will receive a lot of...
It looks great! I like the blade too.
Overall the paint job is great, and I like the highlights you places everywhere, looks very cool!
Yes, matt varnish will knock shine off things, just be...
Awesome job Dexter! You have such a great touch with these natural bases. That frozen effect looks crazy!
What, no way! That looks so smooooooth. Awesome start! The skin looks finished already!!!
Thank you very much! Weird, I always feel like I make the slowest progress - I can only work on these a couple of hours a week.
By all means, get that backdrop in! Sometimes working on the...
This is gorgeous work. I am blown away by your metals, the shading is so subtle yet bold.
Wow, top job! Love the moss on his helmet :)
The whole thing is gorgeous, I like what you did with his skin, especially that gnarly (self-inflicted?) scar/tattoo on his shoulder.
The axe head is...
I love what you did with the feathers! The whole figure looks great, and that base looks very interesting.
I like the vibrant green you have here
Mate, that is a monster squig! How tall is this guy?
Looking good!
That is an amazing piece StToad! I would really love to hear more about how you approach a bust like this one, looking forward to reading that article!
Wow!!! Love the gradients you have going here. Such a cool looking piece that you are addig life into.
Nice, I love what you are doing with the eyes!
Dude, this looks great!!!
These are mindblowing BaM. Absolutely stunning. The amount of detail you add with just the tiniest flicks and flecks of your brush, it is crazy!
My $0.02 would be the same as everyone else: put him on the back of the shelf for now, pick up a fresh project, and keep going!
I think what keeps me engaged is having at least 3 projects going at...
Thanks Graishak, much appreciated!
I'm calling the Land Raider rework project done. It has been fun, revisiting my first papercraft tank and adding some refinement to it.
In addition to the...
Freaking awesome, love the texture on the cloth.
That is some amazing work, so much detail!
Nice work! Happy to have you back!
The colors look much better in the latest photo - white balance will mess them up, always good to have it set right.
Thank you Dexter, I appreciate your kind words my man.
Yeah, I guess you can call it kitbashing in this case :) The gunner is a cast from the mold I made for the gunners & pilot on the Fire Raptor,...
Yeah, the camera always shows more flaws than I'd like on my minis :)
That said, this is a cool piece of work, well done!
That is looking great Dexter! I'm curious to see what you do with the GS frozen effect.
Thank you very much Kallfa!
The idea for the scene is not mine, I saw this piece by Guillem H. Pongiluppi on ArtStation originally, and when the idea for an ork version of Tetsuo came up, I...
Looks very cool! I'd love to see some closeups too.
I agree with Graishak, the bases are beauties too! Gorgeous work, as always!
Yeah, that army is looks tremendous! Very nicely done, all of them!
I'm sorry to hear you are having back pain, that always makes life barely livable.
The figure looks great though, with a bit of warmth in the face she looks even better!
Thanks StToad, he came out ok I think! There is a lot more that can be done with the idea, but for a quick side project I am happy. Was a lot of fun to do, to figure out how to put it together....
The rocky base looks great, I think there is enough texture in there to make it look however you want - a moss-covered wet stone look, a deserty dry rocky outcrop...
That barbarian tho, he's a...
He looks like a fun chap! The eyes look done, do you do those first?
Looks good! That last photo is a bit small to see details though.
I like your nurgle warrior too, that bright green really draws the eye in the middle of all the pleasantly desaturated colors.
I'm having trouble figuring out which end is the head lol
That's nurgle for you. You think you're sneaking up from behind and wham! the anus eats you
Great work Graishak! I'd love to see your...
Thanks Graishak, hope you like the movie!
Thank you Fuentes! The background is just some XPS foam, covered sheets of chipboard, all glued with PVA and then covered in thinned down PVA and some...
Now that is a complex model. Nice paint job! Glad you had fun doing it, it certainly seems to have some well-sculpted detail.
I agree, very nice and clean job!
Kallfa's suggestion of adding some darker areas and some lighter areas is great, I think that would make the details pop that little bit more.
Nice work!
Ah the bane of fantastic beasts and brave space warriors everywhere: 2 year olds.
for what it's worth, I think you did a great job on this guy's armor, and his face and shield also look super...
These look fantastic Kallfa. I love all the textures and smooth colors you use.
My $0.02 on backgrounds: even though people say you should photograph a light mini on a dark backround and vice...
Looking good!!!
I'm sure even as it is, when primed it'll look like one piece. It is always amazing to me how primer will tie things together.
I agree, outstanding work Graishak!
Looks awesome!
* furiously scribbles down notes *
:)
Nice and nurgly, looking good!
Thank you Replica, I'm glad you like him!
I've finished the sculpting on the Testuo-ork, along with his base, and given him some black primer + a drybrush of white.
I'm in the process of...
Thank you Gemini! I understand what you are saying, but hey, what's the worst that can happen? :) You will already have the tools and the putties, probably some wire too - give it a go if you want...
That looks gorgeous Lem, you certainly know how to make some creamy smooth transitions. That skin is ++++
This looks amazing. Are you layering on putty, carving, or a combination? Those are some nice sharp details you are getting.
Very nice modifications! Even just with the hex bolts on the round plate you add a very cool look, the holes in the bottom are a great addition. Certainly looking forward to more of these!
yum, this looks delicious! Some proper winter food.
I think it looks really good too - certainly what Kallfa and ekipage mention are some good improvements. Keep going!
Very cool little diorama - even though I feel sad for the little guy :(
Well done!
Thanks ekipage :)
The Joe Pineapples sculpt is from the comic 2000ad, specifically a story called ABC Warriors: The Khronicles of Khaos.
One of the covers has Joe decked out in some sweet looking...
This looks very cool, love the work on the eviscerator.
Some super awesome work here Lem, very cool!
The hair looks good!
For the wet palette, the first improvement you'll see is that you can stretch your paint further, since it doesn't start drying as soon as it leaves the bottle. Give it a try if...
This is some fantastic work you have here. Love the different textures and contrast!
Classic, this looks great!
Stunning work, again - you bring these little guys to life!
Super cool work tenball, love that soft shading.
This looks amazing, I love the colors and textures you have going on here. It'll be a very cool gift.
Keep going mate, it looks excellent!
Yeah, those eyes now look striking. Very well done!
Looks very cool! At some point you have to stop adding detail though :) and get to the paint!!! :D
Yeah, I like the colors too, looks great!
Thank you very much Dexter! I love sculpting, so it is nice to hear that I am improving.
It's hard to figure out exactly how tall Joe is, given that he is a drawn character in a comic book,...
The eyes look really good ekipage, nice work!
This is intense. I need to go fetch my sunglasses :glasses-cool:
Every time I think your colors have reached full vibrancy, you come alone and up them some more. It looks amazing.
Beautiful work Kallfa, I love the metallics, they look super cool.
Man, this turned out stunning Rhett. You have absolutely nailed every texture on this guy. Such a wonderful piece, congratulations!
Graishak, you are turning into a master of shading nurgleness. The snail looks awesome!
Stunning work BaM. I love what you did with that space marine's shield, the marbled bone coloring looks amazing.
So good!
Nice! What kind of base are you planning for this guy and his pal?
Looks cool though! The joints in the armor look very nicely shaded.
These look fabulous. I can only imagine what a table full of these guys fighting it out would look like!
Here is another sculpt I'm working on. It's Joe Pineapples, the version by Kev Walker.
He is about 9cm high, not sure what scale that'll put him at.
https://i.imgur.com/MBYVKID.jpg
Sorry again man, I hope the trip to Ikea pays off!
I agree, great job man!
You've got some awesome grimdark-looking blending going on there, especially on the bone parts.
The cloth looks great too.
And I like what you did with the bases.
Nice! He reminds me a bit of Obelix :)
Wow man, that banner is delicious. Such a happy, evil looking gang :)
Indeed, she looks ready to use that axe, and it looks like she knows how to :)
Thanks Jocelyn, I appreciate your support here and on p&p too!
Alright, on it :)
In the meantime, here is a little poster I whipped up. I had the bike, I had an ork, so...
...
This looks wonderful! I'm also sad about the dome problem. I second Jocelyn's idea - shorten the length of the trunk if you can. You could try and break it at the base, or
you could saw it in two...
Thank you my friends!
@ekipage that would have been a cool take!
Right now I'm thinking, if this ork is a Kaneda clone, then where is Tetsuo? Picturing an ork with half his body taken over by...
Top notch, love it!
Excellent work Graishak, I love the Blightking with his pale flesh, and the blue green on the angler toad looks great!
I think this is some beautiful work Dexter! Both the figure(s) and the base. Can't wait to see it all put together.
She has an axe? I pity the fool who made her angry :)
Nice work so far, I'm keeping a close eye on this one because I have a bust to paint, and I'm pretty nervous about it!
Very nicely done! Love that fluo green
Thank you Graishak, I'm very happy that I didn't chicken out. I love the decals now too. Thanks for the encouragment!
Thank you Kalifa, much appreciated!
Thanks Gemini, I'm glad you...
Looking good, keep em coming.
I see there are going to be heaps of glowy bits. Will the crystal base also glow, and light him (it?) from below?
That looks super clean and smooth.
Where minis are concerned, I think I'm legally blind :) I wear magnifiers all the time.
Squigs look great!
Yeah, I agree. These little guys have so much personality.
So I went ahead and put some decals on the bike. Freehand of course, I kinda think printed decals would not quite fit.
Ork stickas should be kind of messy right?
https://i.imgur.com/FggRKy4.jpg...
Welcome... back? :) Good looking figures!
Man, you make these things pop! Looks great!
Love the gate, looks cool!
That's a good start on the bust. Where did you get it? I like the sculpt of her face.
Kult of Speed, noted. I don't know enough about orks it seems :)
The banner on this page https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Kult_of_Speed
already contains the horned skull he has strapped to his...
This is really beautiful Rhett! I love the skintones, the textures, the contrast between the warm leaves and the cool beard.
You have really outdone yourself. Getafix looks fabulous, all he is...
Yeah, the gradient really brings these out more, and the highlight on the rims is great.
Nice! That looks great all painted up!
Haha! Yes, I was thinking along the same lines. Kaneda has a bunch of stickers like "Canon", "CITIZEN", etc.
The orcish twist would be "Kannon", "WAAAAAGH!", etc. This has been done before, so I am...
Thanks Graishak, Dexter!
I am enjoying the paint job on orkneval, it is in a good state so far.
Question for you though: should I add the stickers on the bike, like Kaneda's bike?
Or leave it as...
This looks beautiful Dexter, especially those wings. The diorama too!
Wow, that dragon looks amazing. Great start on the rider too.
I like the shields, I think they suit the little guys!
That texture is superb, can't wait for the whole thing to glow!
:D
Yeah, I've got some combs too, but I find the same thing you mention: when rolling over putty with a comb, there is nothing underneath that reinforces the shape, so I always mess it up....
Thanks maxwin. I made a tentacle roller out of those novelty lenticular cards that you get from souvenir shops, you know the magic-motion type things?
Basically, a photo or drawing printed on piece...
This is a stunning piece Rhett!
Thanks metalsasmedium!
Thanks man! Yes, there are heaps of ork "conversions" going around too, just grab some scale model - it doesn't even have to be the correct one and start ripping stuff...
Nice work there, it looks great!
This is looking awesome so far Kretcher. I love the subtle reflection of the gem on his beard. That is some gorgeous ruddy looking skin you've painted there.
I'm glad you are back, safe and sound. And happy you picked up the brush again. These guys look fantastic as ever.
