Cut off his goolies and stuff them up his nose :D
Just checked ebay, his auctions have \"ended\" Not sure if ebay pulled them or if he did. We will need to keep an eye out for any more of his auctions, or if he changes names, any others like this in the future.

The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing.

All of his auctions are pulled too.

    \"extremely high quality\"

At least the ******** got one thing right...

I\'m not exactly a regular poster here or anything, but I know how much time and effort it take you guys to make these guides to help others. And it sickens me to see people ripping off your hardwork. And the fact the guides are free here anyway?

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

What a total POS this person is and on a side not did anyone read the bottom of his auction? It says and i quote :

\"This book does NOT have RESELLER rights.

If you wish to be able to sell it yourself please contact me for further details.\"

Well no S*** sherlock perhaps you shoulda considerd your own statement before you stole the hard work of the great people on this site. Your total lack of judgement and the fact that you have the social grace of a drunk silverback makes me weep for your pathetic life. Wich by the way you have failed at,
    asshat.

    /end rant

hahaha, I just read the auction again, my favorite is this line he adds:

Covers Miniatures from all the great manufacturers ! I am not able to name the companies for copyright reasons.

seems he doesn\'t want to get in trouble with any copywrites lol lol lol

    This line is also good:

If you wish to be able to sell it yourself please contact me for further details.

Find out who his internet host is and report him to them, too. Most hosts will pull your hosting if you\'re doing something illegal like this.

    Hmmm

I spotted this over a week ago while browsing ebay and was suspicious right away.
I bought it out of curiosity and saw it was a straight on cut and paste from the tutes section here.

I sent the guy an email saying in no uncertain terms I wanted my cash back and the shit would be hitting the fan.
I pm\'ed Chern Ann with no reply becuase I believe if anyone holds copywrite it is him and not us as article posters. Not sure though.

    My email to him

    Hi
I have just downloaded your mini painting guide and frankly I am dumbfounded. All of these articles are pulled directly from coolminiornot where they are freely available.
Did you ask permission from the owner of the site or the submitters of the articles.
I thought not as I am one of those submitters and I certainly got no request from you.
I request that you refund the £4 that I paid you for the purchase of the ebook and that you remove the auctions. Otherwise I will feel obliged to inform the owner of the coolmini website.
    Mark.

(I pmed chern ann anyway at this point.)

    His reply.

    Hi Mark

Ok I do appreciate you may be feeling angry about this, and possibly rightly so.The thing is I did use Coolmini articles and I also did spend a fair bit of time, spellchecking, editing and generally tidying up, then making the PDF\'s and compiling them into what I think is an easy format 8 chapter book.I did check the articles and I didnt see any copyright notices on the articles themselves.
I will be honest with you I am not a scam artist I just felt it would be a beneficial thing for everyone in the painting scene which I am myself btw.I make next to nothing off these books and I spent 3 days getting all the stuff organised.
If you do still wish your article to be removed from the book I will of course do this immediately.

I will issue your refund as soon as I have sent this mail.
Again i\'m not trying to rip anyone off here I have been painting for 15 or so years and I had good intentions when listing the book.
Please let me know which article you want removed and I will action the removal if thats what you wish.

    Kind Regards
    Chris

Well that sorts it for me then. I had a few articles I was going to post but I dont think I will now. I would like to see this guy swing as well.

I dont have a problem if Chern wants to use one of my articles but no way this guy should get away with it. Does anyone have a link that works to view a copy of this book.

So big deal that you spent your time editing free articles,, that’s his problem… there is still some copyright involved! People Spent their time so make them and he makes money off of it for his 3 #&$^ing days of quote on quote work!!!….. IDK who he thinks he is but he is sooo in the wrong!

If he claims to not wanting to rip anyone off, the least he should have done is mention the authors... Lame!!

that\'s what he ment by editing: removing author names :)

Okay, I don\'t pretend to be a UK lawyer, but what he did violates US copyright, and the UK probably would enforce them under a UN treaty.
It used to be that copyright notice was required, but that was long ago. Anyway, the website has Chern\'s copyright notice in any case.

The guy may think because it\'s on the web it\'s free. We know it\'s not. I\'d sue him if I were a UK lawyer. If sued, he would have to give back all profits he received from the sale to all the authors. You guys aren\'t going to get much, but there is a principle involved.

I didn\'t see what he posted, but if it included photos - which I assume it did - then there may be other types of artists rights involved as well.

Oh, and he didn\'t list the manufacturer names for copyright reasons - translates to, if I said GW or Warhammer, the GW lawyers would pull my auction. Just cause you guys aren\'t a corporation, doesn\'t mean you don\'t have rights or power to enforce them.

My God I\'ve been rumbled! Chris is my weekend name. Now I\'m in the open and I expect I\'ll be shamed and stoned :( lol

This is all very interesting really. The fella did wrong by the copyrighting set-up, but the usual raft of over-reacting is what swings it for me. A lot of folk just put it down the line and call the lad a cock (which he clearly is), but some folk talking about taking him to a small claims court? Stand back! Stop stamping your little feeties! The guy had a splendid idea and took all the credit. From this point on it\'ll all go tits up for him. He\'s been rumbled, so leave it there.

    He\'s a cock mind lol

P.S., he sounded so nice in his letter to Klute lol

    Default If I remember correctly.....

In UK copyright arises automatically irrespective of whether one has a notice or not. However evidence of ownership is always a good thing. The whole post smacks of a scumbag who has been caught out and is trying to plead ignorance.

Sorry Rev but what\'s to stop the aforementioned person from registering on ebay under a new moniker with new bank and paypal details and the cycle continues anew. It\'s nice to see how you believe that such blatant IP theft is so amusing.

Townsend my good man, it\'s not amusing in itself. It\'s the Ronnie Biggs mentality. The sheer derring-do caused me great mirth, and whilst I agree the fella should be brought to \'justice\' I just don\'t see the need for the huge outcry that\'s gone up. The guy did wrong but I believe in second chances lol
