Ok now thats a good way to end up with 3rd degree burns.. but if you can get past all that.. Way cool.

Now a real flame thrower uses pretty much Napalm or a gelled Gasoline.. that would make an even greater effect and wouldnt burn off so quick like the Alcohol would.. when your fighting those Zombies.

(off to the DIY store I go)

That dude is brave - I would not want anything like that on my back unless it was professionally engineered... And even THEN :P

give me a decent power source and some big ass magnets and im sure i could knock one up for you the principles are very simple and already used for devices such as bullet trains.

And now, every one of us that clicked on the link has been appended to the FBI\'s \'watch\' list.

Or whatever secret service monitors your particular region.

Hmm, wouldn\'t be surprised to find him in the Darwin awards one day. Is that legal by the way?

Answer to the original question: No, and preferably not even in the same country.

Well, not yet handheld but they are working on it:

Hmm, wished we had those in the physics classes.

I believe the flamethrower approach has been strongly argued against. Flaming zombies will still advance, possible setting fire to you or your shelter/vehicle. A good semi-automatic rifle is currently believed to be the best anti-zombie weapon, IIRC

I thought it was cricket bats that were most favoured, at present?
The whole Shaun of the Dead thing...

Personally, I\'d rather have a good scattergun. My aim\'s lousy, so I\'d want good spread.

    Or grenades...

lol that\'s exactly what I was thinking. Although grenades would not be advisable for me... if my old Counter-Strike days are any indication I\'d probably just bounce them off a door frame and right back to myself.

i opt for just walking faster... that seems to get the job done. oh and walking in the opposite direction of said zombie will also ensure that you survive longer.
