The Elf Archer seems to come from a company that Andrea feature on their internet shopping pages called 3D.

Mostly \'Cheesecake\' stuff, but there are some very nice exceptions.

I have toyed with the idea of getting myself some Andrea miniatures, but as they are a little hard to find around here, I would have to buy them \"sight unseen\", something I have been a little hesitant to do.

I have seen them on E-bay and such.

    Do you have any?

    Another question....

Although the paint jobs are good on the ones you have linked to, they don\'t seem to have that \'pop\' that smaller minis have.

Is this just a stylized choice, or do 80mm just not look good with the more \'dramatic\' shading and highlighting?

Ok, I have no more questions.....yet

    :D

I don\'t know how much info you need but the Andrea site has pretty detailed pictures. I have about a dozen of their 54mm figures and the castings are uniformly excellent. Prices aren\'t bad either and they do some very original subjects (check out the Charlie Chaplin & The Kid release). The only reservations I have is with some of the face sculpting - particularly the \"pretty\" women and the film star portraits.

At this moment in time, they have the only reasonably priced kits on my wish-list. (Brits can buy Andrea through Historex.co.uk, they usually stock the whole range. )

Mmm, a mini-painter who reads Amazing Figure Modeler - aren\'t you afraid of getting drummed out of the regiment? :D

I don\'t know about the paint job\'s lacking \"pop\" - probably a matter of personal taste. Bigger scale does call for more subtlety tho.

The in-house Andrea painters have a style of their own - I don\'t always like it. Here\'s one I do like though . . .

Ok, I accept the fact that I am a total moron from time to time - at this point as of 1130 am CST the Euro is worth 1.12557 USD, so the dollar must be going up again.

    Comments?

I like the sculpt quite a bit.... I think it would be fun to try something on this scale. I also really like the \'barbarian\' right above the elf lady.

Now to do that kinda work on a 28mm honey...

I guess I shouldn\'t be broadcasting that !! :D:D I just like to keep my options open....

Thanks for the link to the \"Conan\", you are quite right, I like the looks of that quite a bit.

Actually the Conan models are the reason I started checking Andrea out.

    Thanks!!!
