Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks for your help.

PS. it might have been mmn rather than nnm

Non Metallic Metal (NMM) it is.

Good examples are in the articles section. Probably the quickest use is this:

    NNM made easy

    A couple of figure examples:

http://www.coolminiornot.com/123537 (although it is technically SENMM; Sky Earth NMM)

There\'s lots more, but that\'s just what I scraped out quickly.

Thanks for the quick reply PegaZus.

A non-metallic metal sounds like a misnomer though, they should just call it non-metallic

I was going to upload some of my minis but now I\'ve seen the quality here there\'s no way I\'m going to !

Some of the figures are amazing.

Don\'t be put off by the \'greats\' out there. Post up your figures and ask for comments. I\'m glad I did, I now know what other people think of what I do, and I get helpful pointers on how to improve.

Eldintux is right. Post stuff in this section to get feedback on finished stuff, or in the WIP section for, well, your WIPs!

I ain\'t great by any stretch of the imagination, but I think I\'ve improved since I first posted here, and a lot of that is by soaking up the wisdom!

-sky earth nmm is basically painting chrome, where it is uber reflective. other nmm looks less realistic, but in a way more realistic on dirty models :)

    Yes! Start a gallery!

Seriously, tracking your progress and improvement is very encouraging. Instead of thinking \"I suck\" you\'ll think \"I suck, but I used to suck more!\" lol That\'s how it works for me, anyway...

Yea, mine are amazing - amazingly bad when I started. I keep them there to humble me - and to show that a half blind old fat man can improve.

Thicken your skin and post some pics. We\'ll tell you where we see room for improvement. Take it in the spirit it is generally offered and you\'ll get better.

post your pics on the forum and ask for critisism (make it obvious in the title and people will answer)
this will help you improve a lot faster.

and persevere, it took me ages trying to get the juice technique to work for me and i pestered loads of painters until it finaly clicked.

pushing one skill at a time is the best way to do it, and don\'t try and paint everything to your best ability, just push that one skill.
