AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH !!!!!Moral dilema :o :wow: :o.
After last years Birmingham Games day I said I wouldnt be attending any more.
My reasons for this were made known clearly in previous posts.
(Not for sulky ,I didnt win reasons, but as a stand against the system of judging.)

However, since last year changes have come ,but not in the areas I had hoped for. :o.
After being in correspondance with G.W. management in March over judging systems used in the military modelling world, I had hoped for change.Yesterday I saw the latest White Dwarf ,and guess what? NO changes !

The change has come in the area of COMMUNITY ! :flip: :D .
It started wtih meeting the BRIT BRIGADE in Barcelona.Out of that ROCKETANDROLL and his band of merry men with the help of G.W. have got Team BRIT off the ground. As a result of that the British crowd are coming together.:flip::flip::flip:I have also got in touch with a lot more of you guys out side of the CMON world. The end result is I am off duty the weekend of G.D.s and I want to meet up with the lot of you .The oppourtunity is there to create a real fellowship of U.K. modellers who mutually support and encourage each other in the same way the mainland Europeans do.Add to all of this I have 4 projects on the go !
So in the words of the classic song \" SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO NOW ? ???? ? ???

    GOD bless ............VINCENTI

Certainly go. GD is a boring experience if your reason for going is winning prizes. My main reason for going in the last few years I went was to catch up with people with demons just being a bonus.

I\'ve missed the last two GDs and it\'s not the contest I miss, it\'s the people.

I have to agree with Steve Adie it is the meeting of people that I enjoy at the GD. OK so the Platoon Britannica day will also be a good get together and I am looking forward to that but GD is where it really all comes together. Entering is just something to do after getting their and winning although nice it isn\'t everything.

I enjoyed our little chat last year and wish I had hung around longer but if you don\'t go this year then I don\'t get the chance to repeat the opertunity because the way things stand at the moment I fly out on Monday 15th which means after GD I will be driving home and then driving to Heathrow for a 14 hour flight a change and probably another 5 hours in a C130 after that.

And people complain about travelling to GD???

Grit your teeth and come along Adie you know you will kick yourself if you don\'t :D

you will regret not going !!! its better to go and not to enjoy yourself, than stay at home wondering about how good it could of been !!!! if that makes any sense???

    in other words.....
    GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im going (hopefully) even though it means an overnight bus journey from the store in Aberdeen. ive never been to one before, the closest was conflict scotland but i was so tired at that one that i couldnt enjoy it to the full (i ended up having 48 hours with no sleep at all...i was a zombie essentially)
Its always nice to meet like minded people though

I believe you should stick to your \'not entering\' guns, and not enter the contests, but should attend for the social aspect of the event. If there are people attending that you want to see, and only get chances to see at such events, then you should definitely go.
Your rarely seen friends will appreciate it.

id say go, if u so happen to have a few pieces done for it then lob em in, just dont take any notice of the results, make socialising the focus, rather than the comp :drunk:

Like the Tech? yeah theres more in the works plus done with the round lipped base that others prefer.

I\'ll have a nice new release next week. Might be in two parts, Monday and Friday.

yeah. the \'display\' type bases would be cool too. it\'s the sharpness of the detail that i like on \'em.
