Hi BPI.
Your blendings are getting better. *smile* That has a good positive effekt on hers skin. The skirt is still really great. May I suggest, that the scarf could have a little more HIghlight on very exposed points?
Greetings, Taggi

I remember a friend buying that model and making me greenstuff in her sullen cheeks and put a shirt on her before he'd paint it.
Hi Taggi, I'll get there in the end!Trying to put in smooth blends (at the extremes of my skill level anyhow) whilst maintaining a blotchy undead flesh look has been pulling me in opposite directions, I'm fairly happy now though
Scarf to be better shaded (Catachan Green & Badab Black) & highlighted (up to white). Green on the belt to be darkened to better set off the gold. Earings to be reshaded. I think I know what to do with those bits. Hair, anyone any suggestions other than greeny grey through white? I'm a bit stuck
Hi Hard Cover, I don't mind the sunken cheeks, trying to lose the simiian roundness to her face (from the front) & find a slimmer more feminine look was tricky though, I think I'm closer nowSculpt a shirt!?! Half the fun was working out what colour I wanted to paint her manky nipples
If I'd realised I'd have swapped her leading hand with a neater plastic one though, not to mention the weird E.T. fingers on the sword hand & the interminable mold lines that have all appeared long after putting the files away! I'm starting to think they regrow when I'm not looking
Cheers all, B.

i think it look super! you really got a sick colour on her and the face is really creepy![]()
her fingers dont look top notch scuplted/casted as you mentioned, sausage-fingersbut otherwise i think its a really cool mini. and yeah (hate to say it cause i think people tend to focus at it a bit too much) sadly that mouldline look pretty obvious (i know the photo can enhance them a bit though).
That Banshee is a nice piece of work. Like the dress, and I really like the flesh colour you picked
QUOTE Skelettets: "...the photo can enhance them a bit though..."
No mate, unfortunately it's just a honking great moldline running up her arm & over the faceI'll try to pick flattering shots if she ever gets entered into the Gallery & it'll just be you WIP watchers who can vote her down because you know... The Truth!
I will win my battle with figure prep one day
Cheers, B.
PS Thanks Scott![]()

Thank god! I feared I am a nitpicker, because I have seen this mouldline. I have shut up for long, not to frustreate BPI. But yes it is a disgusting little *censored* thing.... And yes BPI, they always regrow at night. Or right after the first base coat... That is why I lay the parts aside for one day, after remove the mouldline and look on the parts once again the day after. And yes many mouldline have then regrown...
For the hair, I suggest black with highlighting into ill looking green... But it is only a "feeling"-decision.

Hi Taggi, never worry about mocking me for missing moldlinesI've probably noticed & am in the ongoing process of ignoring them though! My ostrich like tendencies allow me to actually finish minis from time to time
Black roots through Rotting Flesh tips on the hair is something I'd considered. Without any yellow it should stand out from the skin & the shapes are different enough that I hope it won't look the same as the scarf. If no one chimes in with a sensible colour theory reason for painting her barnet flame orange or turquoise then I may give that a bash once I get home
Cheers, B.

Hi BPI, I have been time sucked for last week, so missed your lovely progress - skin is great and I actually love a skirt![]()
About that moldline on her arm .... well - can't you use it and paint it a bit to some poped vein ... maybe ?Looks exactly placed to me
Just a thought.
Phat
Thank you Phaty
I've made a (slow) start on the hair...
cheers, B.

I like her hair, very strange and different.
Hey... I like that hair...
Only think please remember, that the hiar on the top should be brighter than the part at the bottom.

Hi BPI,
I might be influenced by previous updates with white base coat on hair, but it looks like I rather see her with more bright hair color. Anyway - I'm looking forward to see what you gona do with her
P
Quick update, hair is only area to have received more paint...
Thanks for comments guysPhaty, by doing the hair this colour I've not had to add any new colours to the palette which was an objective, I've also used white far more than I have done of late (but perhaps not enough black), again to try & increase the variation I can get from a single paint colour. Hopefully it all reads as colder colours for the undead vibe. It's been tricky trying to think through any ethereal aspect to her, the flesh being quite fleshy rather than ghostly, so the hair is a nod in that direction. I think she's got quite a physical presence to her, that sword is an ancient lump of bronze, not a ghost blade. A floating corpse rather than a spirit. That's where I've ended up anyway
Cheers, B.

I like the hair, but her wink is just creepy.![]()
Her hair is really good, very strange. But I have to agree about the wink.
Cheers guys, i'm glad the droopy eyelid is being well received
Various hobby odds & sods played with over the weekend...
I went digging to the boxes at the very back of the cupboard as I was a bit concerned that I might have lost some of my oldest minis but after much shifting I found themAlong with the second box of Space Hulk bits there was a little box with this guy in it...
Alternative Armies - Fomorian Hero King Culach
I've got the regular sized Pucci Helper, Quagslime, in one of my figure cases but wondered if this guy was long gone. I remember the room at school I was in when I started painting him, meaning I was 16 or 17A little bit of the blister pack foam he was packed in has decayed & stuck to the back though.
Biggest relief was to find these guys...
Games Workshop Citadel Speciality Set Three: Night Elf Patrol (Evil Elves Of The Underworld)
My third ever figure purchase, you can see where I cut the holes for my previous twoI love the packaging of these, it made them feel so special, peel back the top layer of foam to reveal each mini, protected in it's own little pod :nostalgic sigh: They're painted with metallic enamels over bare metal with no prep, not too far from my work today
I'd like to clean them up at some point.
Finally here's what I've played with...
On the left is a Citadel Spacefarers C33 - Imperial Marine Advancing with Laser Rifle (c. 1982) which I've been trying to clean the mm thick white enamel off. Squig Hunter posted a Female Security Guard here http://www.coolminiornot.com/242604 and I was quite taken by the visor, this is the only mini I could find in my collection with one! The only reason I ended up with a sci-fi figure at all was because GW used to do blister packs stuffed full of random minis for a bargain price, he came in one
The Banshee has had more paint on the scarf.
The left hand base is the aborted first try & the right the ongoing one, intended for the Banshee.
A Plague Bearer of Nurgle to entertain me whilst waiting for glue to dry & putty to cure.
Black Milliput feels different to yellow-grey. Spongier & coarser, unless it's just the way I mixed it
Cheers all, B.

You have very nice minis, so oldschool. I'm sure you'll paint them good. You also did a good job with those bases. I love the Imperial Marine and I'm really looking forward to see it finished.
Hi B, sure - I understand the way your heading with banshee, and it's turning sweat. You are right about she's more physical than spectral - so truly nice choice of colors.
And btw - gratz to your week-end quest "search the ancient tombs of lost miniatures"Looking forward to see your next updates .)
