Default Handy Scale chart by Prophet Miniatures

I hope Matt won't mind (haven't seen him here for a while) this is a chart he had up on his website, for personal use
You can use it to directly measure your armature

Just right click "save as" then once you've saved it print it off,I don't think it needs reducing or enlarging

A fantastic resource! The scale sketches are from Scibor I believe (I'm sad knowing that off the top of my head right?) and the one above is something I'll definately be using! cool! I'll link this back to the article...fantastic. Thanks Mike

Edit: if you've come here through the hyperlink in my 'building the armature' tutorial, then you can get back to it by clicking here.

no problem James, liked your blog btw, don't envy you taking the pics tho
Could you not video yourself, take some selected stills from that and write up some notes while you go through the video

Thanks dude Well I'm working on the fourth installment right now, and it's just taking me soooo long for each one...having said that, don't think I'm complaining, it's been and still is fun, so that's ok Plus it forces me to re-think how I approach my sculpting and make it logical and coherent. I think it's doing me the world of good myself.

I have two reservations over the video thing, the first is the requirement for a video camera which is high enough resolution to enable viewers to blow the stills up large on their screens like you can with the images in the posts I'm writing here. Second is that I require people to show me how these things work, and the thought of editing video terrifies me (and my netbook/wireless dongle combo) half to death - I can't even properly edit photos. However, if those issues could be overcome, I'd be glad to. Heck, if there was a way I'd be more than happy to video the whole thing, do a commentry and post that. Actually that could be fun!

Can one of the mods sticky this as well, or just migrate the Scale guide and general proportion charts into James "read first" thread

    Thanks Tracy, good resource

I forgot to mention that Kathy Dewey uses a similar system in her book, you can also see the basic proportion chart by clicking on the Elvenworks link in my sig, then the "proportioning the human figure" link

I tried this and it indicated an error at the server - could this be the wrong address?

I got this when I tried the regular website:
    This account has been suspended.
Either the domain has been overused, or the reseller ran out of resources.
He maybe just went over the bandwidth for the month. You can do a Google images search for the picture, and it'll be in there albeit a small version of it.
