Thought that description felt a bit too simple for you. I'll try that out!

Oh, simple is lovely indeed, but I do believe that the opinion of what is and what isn't simple tends to change with experience... I mean, what I once called a "finished mini" is nowadays a "basecoated mini", I still feel that I'm painting on a simple level.

Simple is often the most effective tool in your armoury, Chrome! I prefer simple myself, so does the missus. Surprised I missed this thread so many bloody times, especially how much I tend to trawl through and comment on WIPS!

Awesome work, you are far too talented. Really have to get around to painting more and taking some lessons.

on closer inspection, is that base the full job or did you flesh it out a bit with sand to sort of meld with it? It sits well flush!

i got a trophy plaque thing and ripped off all the bits i didn.t need, leaving just the wood as a plinth.
pinned the kit to it, which is only 60mm sq.
then yes, as you said, fleshed it out with bricks made from green stuff, green stuff and sand.
left to dry then the plinth was masked and the kit undercoated.
