Default What's your favorite mini company?

lately we've been pretty harsh on many mfgs, so lets show them some love! lets talk about the best!

if frequency of purchase is my standard, then id have to say reaper. while not all their sculpts are fantastic, and some of the smaller companies have uncompareable quality, they do have some incredible minis worthy of the talent they've recruited. value wise, they're just about as good as it gets. my runner up might be darksword. superb character pieces.
    your thoughts?

p.s. im sure this has been done before, but i could care less.

Old rackham - the sculpts are brilliant and full of character
    or
Studio Mcvey - Beautiful figures and always releasing new ones
    or
Infinity by corvus belli - beautifully detailed figures released every month and somehow they manage to get resin quality detail in metal!

Old-style Rackham, and Andrea's 54mm fantasy line, and Pegaso's new Gehenna line.

Currently having a love-in with Wyrd Miniatures. Just got hired to do, like, five boxes of them.
Though I'm finding Lady Justice to be intimidating.

    GW.

It's where most of my mini's are from. I like the other firms, and it's a popular thing to rip into GW, but meh, still my favourite.

    In no particular order:-
    Andrea
    Freebooter
    Black Scorpion
    Reaper
    Redbox
    Dark Sword
    Smart Max
    Foundry
    Hasslefree
    Heresy
    Spyglass
    Eolith
    Infinity
    Rackham
    Cmon
    Okko
    Anime Tactics (+/-)
Up until the last year or so I'd have included GW as a Firm Favourite, but now I'm "cherry picking" the things I like from them, and lately that's not been a lot.

Actually it probably be easier to follow this link http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/miniatures it just about covers the whole shebang.
(Ok I'm a mini slut. I admit it)

I have recently discovered the "Vor" line from the old Ral Partha (now Ironwind Metals). While not up to today's production standards, they are incredible in terms of design and creativity.

Figone has really good minis, very detailled, original and without any mouldlines.
Studio McVey also has some really good things.

I still feel a bit new to the mini world, despite lurking about it's periphery for so many years. I seem to be discovering new manufacturers every day!

I'll nominate Hasslefree. I like their minis but more importantly I like the attitude they have toward customer care, they seem to look after their staff and they're upfront if there are issues with orders/production. I like the honesty, it goes a long way with me

Sally can consider that a win on the PR front

Overall I can't pick a fav, but right up there in terms of quality for me are Enigma and Smart Max (although not the price).

Oh and another vote for old Rackham. I wasn't going to mention them but since they were brought up already...

I just like good minis. Who makes them doesn't concern me as much....but if forced to choose...

    Hasslefree is my current favorite.

Studio Miniatures, ohhh those guys are good.

Wyrd has some fantastic sculpts, as does Infinity, and Antenociti's Workshop, and those Copplestone ones are grand.....Oh, did I mention Alpha Forge, I still like those, as well as Khurasan and Critical Mass....Lets' not forget Heresy, and anything done my Paul Muller...Oh a bunch of Reaper stuff really looks awesome....I like Black Scorpion, especially those cowboys!. Tengu Models put out some fantastic gribbliies!

Frick! I don't have a favorite...like boobies, they come in all shapes and sizes, and for the most part, I like them all.

Reaper really bring the noise when it comes to sheer number of unique characters without compromising quality. And I'd like to put a shout in for Eureka... not always the best/flashiest sculpts but they have some really fun and unique stuff in several different scales.
