    Default Golden Demon Rules...

Hey guys, I was wondering in what country is it ok, (or always overlooked) that one person can sculpt/convert a model, or make a base ect while another person paints the model and enters it in the competition...
I seem to hear alot of people not doing all the conversion work on their models and then entering those models in golden demon after they have put in amazing paint jobs and win.

Wondering if anybody knows if there are different rules on other countries because I know thats not allowed in U.S Golden Demon.

    Thanks guys
    -Ansel

Pretty sure you're not allowed to do that in any Golden Demon comp. Nothing to say the guy that painted it can claim all the work for his own, but that's just kina shitty. Especially when so many people strive to follow the guidelines in the name of fair competition and testing themselves as individuals.

Considering the fact that the miniatures are sculpted by someone else to begin with, I can understand the rule but it's not really the work of all one person no matter how you view it.

That said, why do you enter Golden Demons? Is it for the awesome trophy? Fabulous prizes? If so.... stay tuned.
I like it firm and fruity!

Seems to be you can do this anywhere outside the UK and I am presuming America as well seeing as you are asking.
As for as I am aware I thought the only category whereby more than one artist can enter a model is the open category http://demonwinner.free.fr/france/20...hp?categorie=9
Was the sword winner for Germany this year entered into the open Category?
I don't think so because if it was then why put it on a 50 x 50 base?

Aye, fair point. At least the "standard sculpt" Puts people on an even playing field.

Why enter the demons? It's the only place you can stand a chance of owning the worlds most acclaimed paper weight, of course! Comes in a selection of 3 colours , i'm told.

we do have a frenzy, all the fun stuff you see on a games day (Black Library, ForgeWorld, Tournament and a painting comp) but more crappy prices :P

I've spoken to GW employees who claim the prices are supposed to be upgraded to demon-status (hope so.... )

there's also a couple of local comp at different (GW) stores (I now Den Haag has one a month)

o.O and... why am i typing this in english when i'm adressing and targetting a dutch audience

Ok so is the verdict that anywhere outside UK and US you can enter a model you didnt sculpt or convert but it has to be a team thing?

and btw chern, the reason i enter demon is because its a competition that (almost) everybody enters, it has an awsome showing for that reason. It also has a certain style of painting which i like, its alot about the painting, and little about the actual model conversion itself. (untill they are judging for slayersword). there is also always judging drama which is fun, if everybody loved all the results how fun would that be, and lastly, thousands of people see the competition and your work. and seeing all these people in person and chatting or critiquing models in person people are alot less likely to be dicks. demon is a great competition and i think the trophy is mad cool. even if its kinda lame, but i dont care about what you win, its about the fact that you did win, or learned from losing
so if your planning on making a cmon competition, make it real life, not photos, and i would certainly look at the golden demon as inspiration.
