    Default Wehrmacht Sniper from Andrea

And here is my latest commission, unfortunately i can't post it in my gallery for voting for whatever reason.
It's the Wehrmacht Sniper from Andrea miniatures.
It was a great project to work on, it stretched my abilities and i'm better for it.
Thanks to Karakial for his advice as well

Pics are smaller than actual size as well

I think it looks really great! Well done.

Some nitpicks. The thing I think lets it down a bit is the face. You've painted it very much like most people do on smaller scales, it's not bad by all means but by looking more at how people paint faces on larger scales would help getting the same sense of gritty realism to the face as you got to the rest of the scene. A pointer would be to desaturate the shadows some and use red tones instead on cheeks and nose so that he looks suitable cold. Another thing I noticed now was that the riflescope could have recieved some more love, painting it to simulate a lens in the front.

Excellent piece, but I have two nitpicks.
1: Avelorn has covered the face over-deliniation as if it were 28mm, it does need to be a more subtle graduation of colours.
2: Rifle barrel out of a window! FFS! May as well paint a flaming target round the window frame and say here I am, come and shoot me. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

As someone that was in the Marine Corps, I also hate seeing scenes with sniper's resting their barrels out of windows. They don't do it, they shoot from inside.
Anyway, that's the way the sculpt comes from Anrdea Miniatures.

Great scene and paint though. It my just be the photograph, but the red bricks look like they have a little shine to them. They would look great as a true matte finish.

Great work here. Is big change from what you usually paint. I think that you adapted really well to create an impressive piece of art..
A few of the little extra bits you added like the glass in window and best of all the nazi poster add character and realism.

    top notch!!

Also, one thing to realise here is even tho this guy is sniping his uniform indicates he is not a trained specialist, if he were he would look very different (camo and what not). As empchild put it to me "plain old wehrmacht".

    I did some more homework

So homework it is before i post my next!

thanks for all the kind words.
