the founding members are made up of Malcador (uh, maybe) & ex traitors (???) who disappeared in to the warp (with the moon titan) for the heresy, then reappeared a few years later, having trained for hundreds of years in the warp (???) as a complete chapter. its rumored that the emporer may be the genetic donor.
    stupid, and not exactly clear....
I am not one to bow to GW revisions of fluff history...LOL.

Actual, if he uses one of the foundations like Dheneb Stone, Astronomicon Grey, or Iyanden Darksun, it wouldn't be too hard...LOL

When you started this, we already talked about how pinkish pre-heresy EC are supposed to look. I got the impression that you are leaning to the blueish side, so I used VGC royal purple as a basecoat.
But you are the boss here so I will try to keep that for the shadows only and push it up to hexed lichen or even warlord purple.

Yes, leave it to the shadows, and highlight slightly higher than this...

Hmmm alchomohol permitting over the weekend I'll endevour to quickly slap up an AoBR test model to check SW scheme with you. You menioned grey earlier somewhere but it won't hurt to check my implementation.

    Edit:
Sonuva gun looks more grey IRL unless I'm going blind. RMS Stormcover Grey and Coldstone Grey.

Hmmm looking at that pic some more it's just not helpful. I need to reshoot this and try again. Stand by caller

    Edit moar:
New camera is killing me. This pic looks like actual. Right idea or you want more like p11 of Space Marine Painting Guide from a million years ago or p169 of Rogue Trader?

The bottom pic is a great looking grey.
Just remember that the original accent was yellow trimmed with red.
I'll try to find a pic

Of course I found it in the first place I should've looked, but the last place I actually looked...LOL.

Ah, but if that were the first place you looked...would you have kept looking?
If you can name your paint colors blindfolded....you might be a brushlicker

So not looking forward to that right shoulder pad...

Some new paints arrive any day now that will let me tweak the grey towards what you have pictured there.

That's because this is a test for the paint scheme, NOT his entry into the project.

I was kidding. Get it? Geez, I'm not stupid. Well I am, but this isn't one of those times.

    No no!
The gray you have on that AoBR guy is damn near perfect, just move toward a little more highlighting.
Without the flash giving it a blue-ish tone, it's just the kind of gray I wanted.

Okay superstuff. I'll move on to highlights and practising the pad.

Hey Jester (and everyone else ofcourse),

I've decided to use the second mini to start over :P

I got an Airbrush for my bitrthday.
And after a couple of trial sessions on a piece of terrain, I was wondering how much I could do on a single mini.

The bad news, I may need a bit more time :s
School has started again, and I REALLY need to finish...

The good news, Using my airbrush seems to be going as fast as I'd hoped.
So I may not need too much extra time (any faster and I might even finish on time)

Further good news, starting over means I can (and will) take photos of my progress.
Which, ofcourse, I will be posting here
    Schedule allowing

So, don't write me off yet,
