    Default Blue Orchid Assassin [Reaper]

eyes under a face mask - that was really hard, but I think it turns out ok
high contrast cloak - that was a bit over down, I think, but it turns out acceptable ....

I think he looks great! I personally have trouble with getting ENOUGH contrast in my minis.
How do you go about doing eyes? I need some pointers. My friend keeps giving me minis to paint that are in helmets and I would like to know how to actually paint them instead of bungling my way through it.

hey thank you for your comments : )
Honestly I got lucky and able to get his eyes done , usually I need to do it in two to three tries before getting it right

What I did there is I primed it first, then drawf flesh as base coat, then dot the eyes, and carefully dot in the white
from all the eyes painting I found that doing the white bit right is very important and really make the eyes pop out

then a bit of thinned wash on each of the corner, so that the shape of the eye is better defined and looks like the red bit at the corner of our eyes

then used dwarf flesh to cover up the bit that I painted out of the eye, then highlight

the bit with hooded eyes, I think, is to do the inner most bits first, then very slowly, bit by bit, paint the edges (like the inner rim of the helm)

Bingo! At any rate that's how I've always done it. The other way around is well-nigh impossible, without superhuman hand-eye coordination.

Nice work on the assassin; I had this mini for years but was never compelled to paint it, I think I passed it on in the Mini Exchange.
