I like it a lot too! Except for some of the icicles - sorry hun. But there are a couple on there that just go straight of the edge like a stream of water that froze in an instant. For the type of icicles you're doing the water rolls to the edge but doesn't drip, it goes to the bottom of the ledge, hangs there, and then freezes - wash rinse repeat.
Some of the ice you have coming off the sides, maybe put under the ledge instead.
But the icicles I'm working on are kicking my butt over here. So take it with a grain of salt since it's icicles 592 and Kath 0. *sheesh*
Thanks, Skells.
Uh, I cannot do that now, If I do I will F*** up the base too much, so they will stay the way they are. I have to cut and reposition on that goes down to a lower shelf and then starts again, but other than that, I cannot do anyhting else. I am out of time. I appreciate the feedback, but I was just doing these to mimic the look of the ice that forms down by the river out my way. It runs down, freezes, then repeat, then when it hits a stop point on the surface, it starts hanging down. That has been my observation, but I could be wrong.![]()
No worries - see I was thinking about icicles like on an eve of a house, or tree limb, etc. so two different POV's!
I take it back...who cares about the sculpey rock edges as this is awesome.I alove it even without the snow. And the axe is sweet as well.
I might have to convince the wife to take a weekend trip to Chicago to see this ...do i need a ticket in advance to get into gamesday as a visitor? I think i can convince my wife this counts as visiting her brother in Chicago if we stay overnight ;D
Okay, very rough WIP of the snow, it is just snow flock with white glue now. I will add crushed glass on top so it sparkles, then I will make slush in between the patches of snow.

Way to go chad. Base looks much more organic now! Agree that the snow needs a little slushing up. On wolf I used bicarbonate of soda and GW water effect. Where the soda isn't too thick it shows through almost clear like slush. Fascinated to see how you get on here.
Join me as I try to place as a finalist at Golden Demon 2012 http://willsinnerdemon.wordpress.com/
Thanks, Will, I have gotten more done to both Daemon and base, but it is hard to tell on the Daemon as it is just little things mostly. I have added some slush, but still needs more, I have to do it in stages. It started raining here again, so not great for my photos, but good for my garden!
First, work on the banner:

That looks fantastic! Great job on the base Chad! And the icicles turned out great!
Great snow effects![]()
Nice, love that wonderfully lumpy snow. Looks good enough to eat, though the powdered glass probably wouldn't digest well.![]()
Oh wow, that's coming together quite nicely there.
Thats looking proper good now pal
Thanks, man. I cannot say I didn't give this one all I had.
High praise coming from you.
Thanks, still got more to do, but it's getting there.
Digestion isn't the issue, it's the bleeding.
Thanks, Meph. Should be wrapped up soon, what with the deadline and all.
Thanks, sir, I hope to have the finished product up soon.
Now an update, did some good work today, time well spent. This week was hectic with school, but now I have some time. Today I worked on the banner, and minus a bit of fine highlighting and a border trim, both sides are done. Now I was going to wait to unveil the secret side, but I could be persuaded to show the other side early, if folks are interested. And thanks to khavor and Miyagi for helping me set the banner straight.

Looks good overall, and for snow btw Mathieu Fontaine showed me a great method with the Secret Weapon crushed glass. Just mix it with some paint on gloss varnish and then apply. No need for glue or anything and it gives a great effect. I look forward to hopefully seeing you at GD Chicago next week so cheers.
Visit my Hobby webstore at http://battleroadhobbies.com/ . Also I am available for commission just shoot me a pm.
Scan down to the bottom of this post.
I am using crushed glass, with realistic water, basically the same thing. Thanks for the tip. See you in a few days.
Well, here is the secret other side of the banner. It still needs the border painted, then a few holes cut to weather it up a bit. I hope it was worth the wait.
