I agree with Trystan! I mean, if you're going to go with a purple dragon, subtle seems to be terribly out of place. If you wanted muted and tame, you could have gone with earthy tones like brown or green. But you chose purple so run with it for all it's worth. Now is not the time to be timid. I really like what you have so far.

Ok so progress is ongoing, highlighting the scales individually takes alot of time.

Work has started on the throne and the rider aswell, heres a preview

The warbosses skin is done'ish, and i have begun adding the other colours

Yay! Purple! Looks good, I wouldn't tone them down either. If anything, add a bit of bleached bone to your highlight color and do a small line / dot on the top each scale as a final highlight above what you've already got.

looking great=) agree with ppl that you shouldnt tone the purple down, i would however have some fun with it and make transitions towards red or blue here and there to make it look more magicish=) excited to see how this turns out!

Goodwork Marjedi. I cannot imagine taking on a project as big as that dragon let alone running another WIP alongside it!!!!

Some more dragon progress. The throne is all finished and i have started on the bone areas on the dragon....plus some work done on the rider, mostly on the scythe and her legs

the pic of the rider got all blurry, so you will have to wait in suspense abit longer for that

Gorgeous mar! I love the dorsal ridge! Very striking! The red adds just the right touch. The only thing I can offer is the throne...the very center needs a little more highlights. You have so much pop in the dragon it completely overwhelms the throne, at least with these pictures. That may change with others. Well done!

Ok so this wonderfull model i all finished. This has been a blast for me to paint, and i have learnt a lot. These last 5-6 i have mostly painted armies and as a result suffered from PMS (Paint Models Speedily). But painting this has slowed me down, made me stop to smell the roses. As a result most of my unfinished armies are now stored away, and i have decided to, for the forseeable future, to concentrate on what makes my painting hand itch.

As a result the following miniatures are on the painting table, awaiting their turn.

    - Ogre Kingdoms Stonehorn: Awesome, awesome model, just oozes character and menace.

    - Death Korps Of Krieg Quartermaster Corps: The 40k zen rolled into a small lovely group of miniatures

    - Kazyk the Befouled on Rot Beast: I have never painted nurgle, and i LOVE this mini

ell Enough talking, i can hear the crowd getting restless to see pics.....But first abit on the rider. I had major issues deciding on how to paint this beauty, and the final scheme was more or less my gf's idea...so all praise must go to her on this one. And now the pics before you throw paint pots at me:

Phew that was alot lol. The Ork warboss on bike is on his final stages aswell, so stay tuned.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph - lovely work Mar. Absolutely amazing.

I can't believe you're finished already - and this slowed you down? Wow!

You'll have all of your list painted before I finish the head of mine! lol!

Ok so some more update pics...

First off is the Ork on warbike. The bike itself is done, minus rust and dirt that is being added later today. The ork is going more slowly, still need to do the mouth, pants and rust on him aswell.

I have also slowly started on the stonehorn. The fur has its first layer of basecoat, need one more to make an even coat. And the skin on the rider has been base coated aswell. Looking forward to this mini alot.

Cleaned and ready for assembly is the Krieg Quartermaster Corps and the Rot beast. Both these FW sculpts have amazing detail. The Krieg Quartermaster himself is a poster boy for the FW chaps awesome work.

Looking good mar! I love the bike but I'm not sure about the checkerboard pattern. I don't know - I can't decide if it's too human or not. Love the ork - he looks great and that Stonehorn is going to be something!
