Well I am hoping to do the holiday stitch up of all time next year if I can save 8 days holiday out of my 16. I will be attempting to book off every fri and sat of the month( I only work fri/sat/sun long shifts), work the sundays (double time) and have pretty much a month off. That would be nice.

So which is the best show in the UK - Euromillitaire or Salute or [insert other here]?

Well I can't answer that fully yet as I've not been to Euro before.
However, given the shows I've been to overe the years; Salute tops the list with Fiasco II (Leeds Royal Armoury in October) and Triples (in Sheffield) jointly second.

Very jealous! I've got 6 days left for the year - 3 to be reserved for the Christmas compulsory shut down. Seem to have frittered all mine this year on live roleplay events (and another day and a half at the end of October needed). That said, every time I seem to go away, one of the computer systems at work melts down and I end up having to come in...

Next year I hope to be allowed a whole week off at once!

Thanks, never been to a show full stop lol!! We have a local model show I wanted to attend last year, might go to the next one and set up a stand the year after that when I might have more stuff to sell and I can sit there and paint/sculpt all day in peace. well, relative peace anyway.

i personally prefer salute as a show as you have more variety with the vendors there - considerably more sci-fi and fantasy. that said the comp is better at euro (although mostly historical) and it's a two day event so the social aspect is pretty good!

Mike, I heard a long time ago, "If you are going to take off, take off for two weeks. If you take off for one week, they will pile it up on your desk and wait on you to get back. Two weeks and they've go to do something with it."

    Have fun.
    Enjoy.

Remember stands aren't always free, I've heard quotes of £95 for a 4 foot table and £195 for a single 6 foot table.
Contact the show orgniser and ask if they want demo's and if it'll be table for work time. (Been there and done it. Also been asked to do a demo and then was told it'd cost me the table space cost as I'd be advertising my commissions).

Well done Mike! I hope you will take some time to relax in there and take Fran out to dinner a couple of times. She deserves it.

I have you topped though. I have at least 3 months off start on the 16th of next month. Of course I'll be drugged and in pain for most of it but hey, I'll be able to catch up on my sleep at least. And Roger will be here. I'm really chuffed about that!
We done done it now. We're finally hitched. We are now the dreaded two headed Roger - Liz - Bunting monster you have all feared.

WE did over this weekend, Euro Militaire at Folkstone. Belting Indian restaurant, two nights running. OH our straining waistlines.
