As you can see, I added a small imp in the back of the war-pig ( du no if it's a proper name ).

So, here I'm again but this time with a Dwarf cannon set. I've started the color squeme on the dwarf minis and part of the cannon, and it's there I need some help. From the box ilustration, the canon it's basically silver and gold. I've started to paint some of the pieces but it's starting to look a bit boring ( too much silver and gold )... Any ideas?

Hmmm if you want to liven them up a bit without changing the colour scheme too much, why not try some runes or tattoos? Like some blue or red wairpaint on the arms, a golden rune or line on the sleeves and robes. Something like that?

The dwarven warmachines are abit on the boring side, but cant you do the gun in dark bronze with abit of verdigris (light darkgreen/turquise wash). And the body in dark steel with silver raised bits. I find the dwarves do well with blue somewhere on them. Also vary the beard colours, from blonde, redish to black.

Hi Meph! These are only the foundation colors. I still have to do the highlights and the details. I was thinking of doing some patterns on the sleeves to match the ones on the cannon. On the spotter, probably on the helmet as well. Don't know about the skin painting... isn't that more appropriated for melee units?

Thanks Mar. I'll try and see how it comes out. I'll post some pics when I have it assembled.

Of course it's appropriate. Dwarves are manly, erm... men-dwarves, men; loud, beer-drinking, shouting obscenities to passers-by. Sure they can have a tattoo or two. They're you're your model, everything's appropriate as long as it's fine by you. Voilà.

    Thanks for the tip Mar.

I've still have to do the highligths, but I think the verdigris on the canon worked quite well.
    I'll post proper pics soon.

I think the patina looks good on the cannon. It really has the feel of an old piece of equipment that's been well maintained. Not too much verdigris, not too little, ànd nice shiny bits as well.
