No Red wunz at the moment! Just some assembly and WIP!

WHFB Squad entry, first model is in the prep stage!

He's been stood straighter, used the backs of Vargheists and crypt horror arms, going for a more Daemonic feel.

Began painting a 40K Single entry while waiting for other stuff to arrive, but the armour is not going to remain this colour.

His base took me about an hour to assemble.

    Cheers guys!

I am liking the base. What did you use for the organic looking soil below the pavers?

    Cheers mate
The base was built using 25mm round bases to elevate the tile. I then used the same cork board that is under the tiles to build a wall over the bases. This was then coated in my secret sand mixture.
Very similar to how I build the dark son's base just a little bit taller.

Ahh, secret sand i think i Have some of that. Thanks William.

Looks good William. I know you are comfortable with the tiled bases but IMO you should throw caution to the wind and try something completely different for the undead guy. Nice graveyard or something!

Nice, although I am not sure it suits the Nurgle Dread. I like the lichen style effect at the bottom! Swamp would be cool for the dread, its got to be grotty and rotten.

The base above would look great as a quayside/canalside effect with watereffect filling part the way up to the lip. Great for skaven and empire minis. Just my thoughts. very different approach - hats off ;-)

    Cheers will.
I'm on the same page as you and that's the big problem!
Luckily I have a million 60mm bases laying around I can use. Maybe I can finish up the empire general and put him in fantasy large on that base.
I'll mock up another base tonigt and make it swampy.

Alright, just a quick update. Spent about 4 hours in sculpting the crypt horror/vargheist cross-over.
And another two prepping the Dreadnought and priming him.
I'm itching to get to painting, but the colours I ordered for him won't arrive till tomorrow. In the mean time I can finish the sculpt of the other model and get to painting it!

I am really looking forward to seeing your Regiment entry, that one mini has a ton of motion, so it will be cool to see what you do with the bases.

    And remember: tick...tick...tick...tick...

    Oh good, more competition!

Here's the rule, they apparently changed since last year.
    Quoted from the GD Rules:

This is for Warhammer regiments, Mordheim warbands, Warmaster brigades and Blood Bowl teams. The entry must consist of a minimum of five models (minimum of three for monstrous infantry/cavalry) mounted on their standard gaming bases. Regiments must be legal units in game terms. The judges will be looking for units that best exemplify the qualities and character of the army they represent. In particular, we will be looking at leaders, standard bearers and musicians of Warhammer regiments. Regiments of models from Forge World's Warhammer Forge may be entered in this category.

that rule for monstrious infantery/cavalry is extremly vague. some say regiment of three ogres are fine but i saw units of three stone trolles go axed into the open category. i wouldnt be sure of anything just using three models

Yeah, that's my concern. I'd rather just paint it for large than risk doing 3 and gettin moved to open!

Hopefully I can get some work done after this meeting before I go back to work tonigt! My paints should be in today as well!

Hey William looking great so far!

I read that rule too because one of the things I thought about entering was the demigryphs. Those I think apply as 3 and monstrous cav because there is only three per box. How many stone trolls come in a box? Anyway, Skel is right and its rather vague.

Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see more!
