    Default Who are you.....(whowho....whowho.....)

    Ok, so I've been away far too long and I hardley recognize anyone any more. With that in mind I'd like to get to know all of you and figure out where I am on this wonderful board again. I'll start;

I'm Liz. I work for a major hotel chain 8-14 hours a day 5-7 days a week (no joke) taking complaint calls about lumpy pillows and messed up reservations. I keep sane by reading, painting (when I have time which I haven't had for ages), harrassing Wiccanpony (who lives with me), flirting with various men (Mostly RogerB because I'm engaged to him. Met him in the Freakbar! {and you all thought the Freakbar was imaginary}) and generally being slightly off my nut. I got into painting back in 1979 when my now ex (thank god) dragged me to his D&D games and I noticed these little raw metal lead minis. Being the crafty type I HAD to do something about them. Those first minis would have gotten 1-2's here but then I think most of us start out that bad.

Ok, so who are you? (smart-arsed replies encouraged, BTW, but do try to put SOME facts in there please)
We done done it now. We're finally hitched. We are now the dreaded two headed Roger - Liz - Bunting monster you have all feared.

    Er.....trying to think of some facts......oh I'm 36.......... er ......
... ran a marathon in 3 hrs 59... Errrrr..... that's it! (shy talking to girls).....
    (runs away)!

Oh god you poor thing. It's generally a mistake to let me know you're shy talking to girls. You know I won't let you alone now, right? I just can't help myself. I LOVE shy men!

I'm Jo'. A bloke, but it ain't short for Joseph hence the lack of a closing e.

Am part hippy, part goth, full lefty atheist. Also suffer from anxiety in a big enough way to currently be benefiting from some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

    40. Look younger, except for the presumtious grey hairs littering my long haired head.

I'm assured I was born on a dark and stormy night, a lightning flash illuminated a necromancer cackling at the heavens. Though that could be bollocks, the birth certificate says I was born in the morning.

Painted minis since the 80's. Decently since the 90's. I'll get around to phots when the anxiety is further wrestled into submission.

Spent 5 years in GW stores as a resident painter. Good years. I still love GW, but they're kind of leaving crumbs and farting in the bed these days.

Was the first person to draw blood at a fencing club. I lunged as they did, caught the inside of their arm the other side of the elbow. It was pure coincidence they had recently started making eyes at my ex.

Raindrops do not keep falling on my head, I wear a cap.

Tolkien, Star Trek and D&D are over-rated poop and some of the worse examples of their genre.

Brushes are meant to be licked.

For years I didn't know cramp was a thing, and would occasionally complain of curly toe thing.

I'm Kelvin. I work in one of the big consulting firms, doing computer security. I've been doing this type of work on-and-off for the past 8 years or so, and it leaves me precious time to myself. I read (mostly trashy GW fiction), write (mostly trashy erotica and fanfiction - only published on fanfiction.net), paint (haven't done any since moving countries), and have a go on the piano and guitar.

I'm Dave, I'm 33, and I come from Glasgow (Scotland) although I've been living in rural Japan for the past 8 years. I work in a catholic girls junior high / high school (yes, that's a real job, no, it's not anything like as interesting as certain anime would have you believe). I'm married and have a 5 month old son who takes up pretty much all of the time I used to spend on painting. Still, on those rare evenings when he drops off on schedule and the missus decides she's going to turn in early, I do very much still enjoy a bit of painting.

I'm Darin (and sometimes Oog the Caveman). Geeze, creeping up on 39 now. Bit weird in that I picked out my college major in 6th grade. Threw all the counselors for a loop. Been 15+ years in Aerospace, ten of that out within spitting distance of Lizcam. Wouldn't be surprised if we crossed paths at some point. Started painting minis in 2006 as I was casting about for a hobby that wouldn't take up a lot of space, and could be put down and picked back up when the demands of two little kids waxed and waned. Believe they've both been photo'd here in some threads a couple of times.

Moved out to Denver to get closer to family (OK, TX) and to get my fingers to stop cracking. The desert environs were just too harsh on me, had to put band aids on my fingers to try to keep them moist. And yes, I know about hand lotion. Did zero amount of good. Now it appears I might be nearing the end of my career with the current company due to budgets and other things. Well, okay, just budgets. Hanging on so far, which is four months longer than initially told. So sudden disappearances of myself typically are just because I don't want to deal with reality and bury myself in games or books and haven't painted; or I'm just on vacation.

Big sci-fi nut, but that's declined through college. Watched TNG religiously, started missing a few episodes here and there of DS9, skipped most of Voyager, and barely caught Enterprise. And this is my passion, so bit worrisome. That "mid life crisis" keeps popping up, but I've got at least 20 more years before I reach the planned "mid life" point.

It's very interesting to see peoples' faces get weird when I tell them I met my wife through online porn. Serious. No joke. I was young, bored, single, and alone at Christmas break waiting for the days to come up before I could fly home, so had hit nearly every online porn you could think of. Typed in a random page of what I thought would be one thing, and it turned out to be an Asian "girls want to meet Western boys" website, the correspondence thing. Like I said, being bored, I searched through anyway, and caught her smile on page 13. That started six months of pen and ink letters (yes, they existed back then!) and then six months of email when she got a cell phone with email. Roll one year later and we got married. Been almost 12 since then. So no, she wasn't the porn. I just found her that way.

She gave me the CMON handle. There was a Japanese "what animal are you" quiz that was popular. And I was the pegasus, the only fictional animal on the list. Unique, strange, and goes left when everybody else goes right. She nearly died laughing when the test nailed me to a tee.

Lessee, what else on general interest. Can't paint my way out of a wet paper sack, would scoff at any sculpt of my own, but that's why I'm here. Most every other art or craft I've tried came way too easily, and I have to work at this to get a good score. Plus it helps with that "needs to pay more attention to detail" comment during corporate review time.

I'm Pete and work as a Web Design/App Developer for a small publishing company (where I also look after all the IT in the company too). Left school at 16 (16 years ago) and went into a mechatronic engineering apprenticeship and then moved into Quality Assurance and then IT so have quite a breadth of different skills to my name.

I've been doing painting and modelling since I was around 10 though have had spells where time just hasn't allowed. I fall into the usual "far too many things to paint" category but since buying my own place two years ago have downscaled a lot of the bits I bought years ago and am never going to actually paint. I tend to have "spurts" of painting when I will spend a few weeks with putting in a lot of hours work into a piece and then a couple of months where I might do an odd hour if I'm lucky.

For my sins I do LARP as a hobby (been doing it since 2000) and ultimately it's where I met my significant other. She painted in the distant past too so in the past couple of years since we've been together I've not actually had to stop the hobby I've actually managed to get her painting again too.

That's pretty much it. I'm a self confessed sugar and caffeine fiend too...

I'm Becca. 26 years old, living in the 'great' state of Florida. I'm a student currently pursuing a Master's degree in Global Sustainability from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls!) I have a bachelors in Sustainability Management and hope to get a second bachelors in Public Policy in the year I'm taking off before getting my Ph.D in Environmental Politics. So I guess from that you can see that I'm an environmental hippie and have a love for policy and politics.

I've been painting since early 2004 when my family got into D&D and Warmachine (when it came around). We have sense become really busy but mom (TABStudio) paints while I write papers. It works, hopefully I'll be able to do more once I give my presentation (next friday! EEP!)

As far as work is concerned, I was an Admin. Assistant for a doctors office (If you've ever seen the Devil Wears Prada, just imagine that with less fashion sense), but I had to leave/ wanted to leave in order to go on an international internship to the Netherlands. Now that I'm back I'm trying to convince the college to have me as an adjunct professor for the bachelor's program *fingers crossed.*

Lets see. Besides school, I'm a big TV/Movie nerd, HUGE fan of the olympics, love reading a good book and just recently got a little bitty boat to take out on the water. I tend to lurk more than post these days but I used to be ipostposts back in the day

    Hello!

My name is Paul and I enjoy cooking, sculpting and playing guitar! I've been collecting & painting minis since the early '90s. Around the year 2000 I started sculpting myself but soon went for a few years without doing much at all (as I went to University).

I currently work in analytical science but have recently been venturing into having my own minis cast. I've always wanted a career in art and design so thought I'd give it a go! I'm sure nothing will ever come of it but feel that I owe it to myself to try :-)

Tim, 30, radiographer, love the job but hate what it's becoming. Love painting and sculpting but do neither especially well. Prolly sculpt better than I paint

Also love to read, watch films, mountain bike and surf.

The name's Tony. Currently 26 years young and by education I'm a Graphics designer, web developer and a welder. I love working with my hands so I've earned a bit of a reputation and become one of those guys everyone around me calls when they need advice or help doing something creative, be it anything between digging out house foundations to making small bits from clay.
I have a knack for being good at most everything I set my hands to, not great, but good; and that has earned me the confidence to try and fail rather than just stick my hands in my pockets and say that I've never done done it so I can't when approaching something new. Besides, if someone tells me I can't do something I get stubborn and determined to prove them wrong.
I've had a bit of work experience doing industrial plastic moulding, a fair bit of welding and now, since two years back I've realised I soon, by heart, know every damn postal number in my county and a fair bit of those in the rest of the country as well. Yes, nowadays I'm working at the soon-to-be-not-so local letter terminal working the industrial part of getting the mail where it's supposed to go.

Not counting Lego's I've been building with plastics since I was six or seven years old, my first model ever that I put together completely myself was a Dassault Rafale and I didn't get into fantasy and sci-fi kits until 2002 when I was introduced to GW by a friend in school and even though I'm starting to get used to it I still nerd rage a bit whenever I hear someone cry out in despair over how "advanced" the Chimera kits are.

So, other than that I'm just a normal farmboy who's starting to get more scars than he can tell stories about.
