My first WIP (Or how to keep me going)

With a lot of my projects they don't get shown until finished, either to protect IP or copyright of the client. I also get a lot of customers asking not to show the finished article as they don't want anyone to know who made the model.
All this being said I've decided to do a WIP of one of my own personel projects to keep my motivation to finish the project.
Recently I commisioned Cassar to make a jump pack for a 70mm Space Marine produced by Forgeworld. Not only did he produce a great piece of work he made me an optional one to. The next task is to finish removing any unwanted symbols on the marine and start adding my own chapters markings

great to see this mini getting the wip treatment personally couldnt believe the amount of detailing on it, this is how mini's should be.

Thanks Cassar have decided to try and give myself 1 day a week for personnel projects and would really like to show of the work you did for me !

So today I have removed the symbols I don't want from the marine as its not going to be death company. Next stage was to sketch the outlines of the symbols I do want as the shoulder pads have damage detail I want to keep in the finished article.

Interested to see how this developes, i am however afraid you will have to do a lot more than one day a week or we will "send the boyz raaand" lol.

I presume you will be using green stuff? for the addons

I dunno. One day a week would be worth it for me, rather than the hour or two I get to snatch up now and then.

This is the model Cassar was ribbing you about painting, was it not?

Yes will be working details in greenstuff would like to be spending more than 1 day a week but got a couple of big bussiness projects on the go at the moment which are taking up a lot of time.
PegaZus yes this is the model he was ribbing me about and sure he will continue to do so !

As i believe is custom on a WIP you must show A picture of your workbench or it dosn't count ! So here it is

Now back to the model. Symbols have now been added in greenstuff and ready for undercoating. If your not sure which chapter it is its the Night Hawks which is my own chapter I started about 15 years ago.

good how you managed to keep the battle damage and integrate it into the new iconography

So 1 day a week proved a bit ambitious as I only managed a measley 3/4 of an hour ! but progress is still progress (he says trying to convince himself ).
The base rock was painted with vallejo paints starting with dark fleshtone, then parasite brown, then scrofulous brown and finally bone white.
On the base you will notice some marine armour parts, the next decission is do I paint them as a fallen brother or as a different chapter.

So no votes on the marine parts on the base, thinking of ultramarines as I dislike those tax collectors.
Have made some progress this week while waiting for paint to dry on some bussiness projects, painted all the bone work and tested the dark blue armour

This weeks progres is . . . eh none ! Before Cassar sends the boys round health stopped play this week and litterally couldn't sit at my desk for a minute without enduring extreme pain, so I've done some sculpting this week instead.
It's a piece called miss america based on the picture of the same name by Chris Achilleos.

Liking the blue on the marine. And sculpting an Achilleos picture is outstanding!
