Whoo hoo I forsee some Spotify research coming up.

Just been listening to Peter V Brett's "The Painted Man" not a bad story, pretty long over 24 hours all told. One thing about it though, probably more noticeable as an audiobook is that his Editor/Proofreader failed to notice the high usage in clusters of 'xxxx said' in conversation bouts.
There are shades of my English teachers stood behind me going "Tsk,Tsk that is lazy writing, find an alternative to prevent repetition", followed by a clip to the lughole.

CFWheeler, Thanks mate some really nice stuff in that list.
Gonna add October Project and Mary Fahl to the immediate download list.

Couple of mentions from me, David Arkenstone does a copy of The Mummers Dance as performed by Lorreena McKennitt (Personal favorite)
And of course Rodrigo Y Gabriella

Recently, I've been doing my famous "YouTube Walk-a-bouts". I start off with a song/ band I like and I just keep hitting the "recommended" side bar. So far I have (re)discovered:
The Dollyrots (Pop/punk with female lead- if you like Avril, you'll like the 'rots)
    Panic! at the Disco
    Woodkid
Steam Powered Giraffe (Although it's kind of kitschy, they have good vocal harmony and tone.. plus the back story is just fun and whimsical)
I also found out about Tarja making an appearance on the new Within Temptation album! 2x awesome symphonic rock singers!
And lastly, one of my messages on Facebook got replied to by Emily Lazar of September Mourning, and hopefully in 2014 we get to see the package deal of the band with their album/ comic!

I usually listen to 80s music. The wife tells me that my singing career died back then too, meh.. keeps the wife and cats outta the painting room..

Shout out to Mike ( Dragonsreach ) for a very nice gift of music.
All loaded to my Itunes and taking it out now for a spin.
Looking for a fun way to repay the favor....

Mostly i listen to the wife watching 'Parenthood' which I refer to as the 'yelling show' or the baby gurgling now-a-days but...

I really like early Metal. I listen too:

    Early Judas Priest
    Jethro Tull
    Maiden
    King Diamond
    AC/DC

    Motorhead
    Black Sabbath
    Dio
(sorry UK folks, I am sure this is groan worthy)

    Classic Punk rock:
    Misfits
    Dead Kennedy's
    NoMeansNo - Listen nOW!
    Ramones
    Dwarves
    Skinny Puppy
    Iggy Pop (new wave?)
    Dead Milkmen
    Butthole Surfers

    Neil Young
    Devo
    Stranglers
    Surf Music

I love the spotify and teh Pandora

Also I live very close to UC Berkeley and they have an amazing college radio that I listen to more than anything:

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...59930103,d.cGU

You can listen right now! (UK guys REJOICE!)

Also there is always classic rock on the radio and Radio Mexicano, and Jazz (Awesome Sunday Latin Show) And Hip Hop

My Cable TV company has streaming music stations, so I usually put it on the 80's channel as the early 80's is when I learned my paint-craft and it takes me back to when my eyesight was far better for the task. (Have to use magnification for small detail work now).

i find Nick Cave is pretty neat to listen on when painting. otherwise its the usual industrial/ebm/goth thing.
