Excellent work man, she looks magnificent.

Hey there, I haven't been idle (mostly) but slowly painting up the Phoenix from Kingdom Death. It's a sort of present too, the theme being that the colour scheme is similar to my partner's parrot. Anyway I'm doing this as well as moving into my first home, so loads on the agenda haha.
    More pics to follow

That looks really nice so far, I just hope your significant other's parrot doesn't have all those tiny hands growing off of it and it is just the coloration! I would say painting is great, but I don't know why you painted that Photobucket logo on it, it kind of takes away from your pretty paint job (but it is cool how you got it so that it shows from every angle)!

Cheers Eki, ah is the photobucket watermark or whatever it's called on it? Doesn't show up on mine, also since photobucket introduced their new pricing stuff in not sure what I'm doing lol. Last time I logged on it I was under the threshold for hosting images. Might have to start using something else. Any suggestions?

i see no water mark, but it reminded me to delete my photobucket account, bloody bloodsuckers! anyway, cool miniature

Cheers Skelette, I've changed the hosting site now so hopefully everything is ok now. Yeah I was pretty miffed with photobucket

This is where I am at the moment

    What a beast!!!
I like the yellow/green combination. The parrot was a good "template" :-D

Look a lot better without that pesky watermark on them, yeah it was going right across the middle left side in all the photos before you switched over the host. Really nice job with that yellow and green!

Such a peculiar sculpt...great color choices!

Although I've not done much painting recently, I've been trying to keep up with a lot of you guys and your work. Loads of impressive models being painted I must say. Hopefully I'll be more active next year, the new house has really occupied all my time the last few months.

However I have finished the last project I started and will try and get a pic up sometime over Christmas.

Finally I've set up a Instagram account and although I don't really know what I'm doing it seems a lot of fun and another good way to share things. If anyone wants to follow me and be followed back (not in the 'end up in prison' way though....well we could discuss) my account/name is Sigmar.3. You might need a hashtag, I don't know how it works lol. Feel free to share your account name with me too, here if you want. Ta!

I'm looking forward to see your last finished project, it looks very cool. I also created an instagram account, and I don't know how it works as well haha, I feel old already...

Hey Sig, started following you on instagram. I like the sharing format there, but I always come back here for discussions. It's much harder to have a proper conversation on a phone keyboard, and people throw emojis around like it's nobody's business. Am I showing my age yet? lol

Cheers Gorb, I saw you on there. I totally agree, it's great to be able to share pics up on Instagram but these forums are better for learning, teaching and more long form answers and chat.

    Long live the forum!

Happy Christmas everyone, hope you all had a great time and got some paints/models.
I just about finished the Phoenix Parrot although I had to rush a bit at the end, so it's not 100% as accurate as I'd have liked. I also hope these pics are ok, I'm using a different hosting site now

  18. #458

okay, have to admit I did not see the hands coming out of the butt in the previous pics of this... Seriously though, really nice paint job (even if you feel you rushed some of it)

  19. #459

I did a double take on this too "are those hands coming out of the bird's @ss?"
But then again there is a face inside the beak. Go figure, Kingdom Death is pretty bizarre.
    Nicely painted though!

Very nice paintjob. If I could do one suggestion, I'd recommend to put some more textures on the front side of the wooden piece (like you did on the backside).
On the first picture you uploaded it looks like not yet finished, but could be related to the picture.
