Default First submissions - Dynamic Tiriel and Adamantium Golem

    Hi everyone,

After almost a decade of painting, I've plucked up enough courage to post stuff on CMON. This stuff is actually already readily viewable on the OzPainters Facebook page, but here they are again:

I would appreciate both votes and C&C.

    Thank you.

I like the figures a lot! The basing in particular is quite good and the details are solid. I think more time on the metal armor might help improve the appearance and ultimately your scores. Also, Tyriel's sword has a bit of a wobble in it and could use a straight edge

Thanks, Zaphod. I've never noticed Tiriel's bent sword. The armour is actually severely washed out by the light. I'll have to try some ways to diffuse the light, and use a different background, and maybe put up a new picture.

A lot of folks use a "light tent" to diffuse the light Better pictures will help with scores and critique as well, since few get to see the shiny minis in real life

Aye. Just waiting for my Foldio to show up. The old plastic bag over light trick didn't work very well here, did it?

The way the golem does not actually have his foot on anything is quite distracting. Thats an easy fix though, just do another base with a wide enough area for him to stand on. overall I like your stuff quite a bit. It suffers from a lack of contrast though which I know is a cliche but unfortunately it is a cliche for a reason.

These look great I really like the shading details but some shadowing on the smaller parts might help. I'm not very experienced tho so dont take my critique too strongly

Thank you for the critique, everyone. I'll fix up the Golem at some point, but I don't really know what to do with Tiriel - I tried straightening out her sword, and all I did was add another kink to it. I might just chalk it down to a loss, albeit a painted loss.

I've added another picture to my gallery, this time of some Griffin Templars on a display base I built. This is my entry to the Feb/Mar Dragonpainting painting challenge.
