    Default Captain Rocket

    Hey guys,

just want to share my latest miniature with you. After my last diorama I wanted to paint a single miniature again, something smaller and just for fun and giggles.
So I rummaged through some online stores to get an idea and there he was in all his glory! Johnny Rocket from the "Dress-a-Johnny" competition from Maow miniatures.
I thnink this miniature is limited to 400 pices if I remember correctly, it's made out of resin and has a nice quality. Very neat details, sharp edges and the wings fit perfectly. I think the miniature is kind of retro so I thought an old weathered building would be a perfect starting point for this miniature. So the idea for a base was set. We have a lift off!

The base is build out of Stewalin casting compound. I build a casting form out of plasticard around the wooden base. The top rim and the window rims are also made out of stewalin. I built a casting form out of plasticards and some rounded plastic profiles. After some sanding they were glued to the wall.

Well I think thats about it. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for improvement I would be happy to hear/read them!

    Best regards

Your fun and giggles is better than most peoples concentrated effort!
Love the whole concept and execution of the piece, 1930's Saturday matinee serial movies never looked so appealing as this does.
    (And I loved them)!

    Another winner, voted.

Your getting awfully good at this painting lark, if you cut down on sweets and fizzy drinks you might win a golden demon or something one day

Well I just wanted to say I didn't paint this guy for any competition or as a commission. It still took some concentrated effort!

REALLY? Do you think I should give it a try? But nah, I am not in the mood for GW stuff at the moment.
