    Failed to try transparent cloth.
T T Maybe it's a mistake to spray the black primer...

    Failed to try transparent cloth.
Not an easy one^^. Only tried it once myself but wasn't that hapy either xD

    But learned some things too^^

To create a transparent cloth effect you have to use skintone on the spots where the silk is touching the skin. But only where it touches! When the silk is wrapped or folds or isn't falling on the skin use your silk colour.

In your case the effect doesn't work too well because you just used a light red. Here's a quick sketch:

I added skintone on the spots where the fabric is touching her skin directly. On her right hip im not sure if the fabric is really touching her hip. It's doesn't seem like it. It's important to trace the bodyparts underneath the silk. The right arm is a bit tricky. The silk is wrapped tightly around the arm and the skin should be visably from all sides. But painting the whole thing in skincolour might look odd. Probably best solution is to choose two sides to paint the effect and blend into red outwards.
Transitions should be quite smooth. I would paint on the skincolor on the correct spots and then blend them in with red glazes.
Iportant, concentrate the skincolour on upward facing surfaces and blend into the silk colour/shadows on downward facing surfaces. Like on her breasts for example. Even though it looks like the silk is tightly wrapped around them, it looks odd when you paint it completly with skincolour. Blend the lower part into red/shadow.
Adding some detail might help to sell the effect. I added a small navel on her stomach. The silk won't touch anything there and should be darker/red. You could also add nipples on the breasts.

But most important: Always keep on experimenting

@CyAniDe, thanks for this awesomely detailed explanation. Just thinking about doing transparent fabric makes my palms sweat
You say that Zero using light red made it harder for him to pull this off. What color(s) would you recommend instead, to make the job easier?

Probably a little misunderstanding ^^ The colour of the fabric doesn't matter that much, what I meant was that it looks like he only used a lighter red for the see through effect instead of using skin color. In fact I think red works quite well since it should be easy to blend with skintones (skintones have red mixed in themselves). So it wasn't the red making it hard, the effect didn't work because you can't see skincolour through the silk. It looks like highlighted red, not seethrough ^^

What I did in the sketch was picking up the skincolor from her cheek and "sprayed" it over the spots where the skin should shine through using the airbrush tool. Then I blended it a bit with the red and "sprayed" a thin red layer over it again.

Would do the same on the mini. Paint on the skintone, blend the edges into the red and tone it down a bit with red glazes (shining through the red silk, the skin should look a bit different then on the rest of the body -> more reddish ^^ ).

What also should work well for training might be black stockings. Just google stockings for reference. Watch for the colors. With stockings you see a bit darker hue of the skincolor in the middle getting darker to the "edges". The sides are almost black. You will also notice that there is a quite dark shadow just below the knee -> downward facing surface^^

Thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding! I'll have to try this at some point. Will definitely be referring to your excellent post when that time comes, cheers!

This looks fantastic Zero! Everything just fits, all the colors and constrast is right up there! The granite looks like granite, the armor like armor, the steel, the skin, heck even the leather.
    Great job!

Sometimes it's OK for cloth to actually be opaque!

The space marine is really impressive. Who/what is that model?

Nice solid work on RG, excellent marble base!

My only concern is the face, looks to me a bit flat. Do you plan to increase the contrast and/or add some color (the usual yellow to the top, red to the middle and blue to the bottom) glazes to the face? I am pretty sure that BAM could give you more details, if you ask him.

    Really thanks for the advice.
Sorry for I'm lack of knowledge about colours( do not understand why blue in the bottom of face and red in the middle of face) and a bit fear about if I failed in my first try with such a "Primarch".
But I'll try to put more shade in my next stuff.

I need advice, YES, I really need advice and comment for you all.
This is the second time that I thinked or I should say imagined how amours reflect the light. Maybe it's still hard to imagine where should be light and where should be dark.
And there‘s a question in my mind when I paint the Guilliman and the DA captain: If I should add shade on the armor, which color should I use...Just black+armor color?

    REALLY THANKS FOR ALL HELP!

It's really a tough fight for me. (This project started in 2016....)

And it's time for the next one, I'm now thinking about which to paint.

The green one is the Primaris Dark Angel Captain. The blue one is Roboute Guilliman.
