Here's the mini that I intend to paint. He's a nice young man called Boar from the game Guild Ball. All primed and ready for Monday.

Miniature painting takes a little brush and a lot of patience.

Here is the one I will try my skills at flesh. She has been hiding in the cave for a long time, now she has to show herself.

Rough placement of daemonette and fallen angel. lots of putty and work to do on her wings to make them look skinned and cover the joins with her hair. Might sculpt up a few tiny feathers still clinging to her bloody wings too...

WM: when is it better to do the decals ? before or after playing with the piments/pastels?
    Forgot, that it works again.

it depends,... for an arm or back tattoo type decal, I'd say to do it afterwards,.. that way it looks like a fresh tattoo. On the eyes, however,.. you may want to lay the decal down first, and then pigment over the top for an "eyeshadow" effect. Also, you can pigment over any tattoos, if you want them to look older or less like "fresh ink". But the short answer is, it can be done either way,.. it just depends on what your goals are for the end effect.

Just remember to seal the decals first

Sealing is an important step for pigments,.. because if you don't seal the model before applying the decal, the water will interact with the pigment and create runs, drips, and funky patches of color-pooling. So I'd say, seal before the decal, and after. Then apply more pigments if necessary.

    do the bull.

WM: decal goes to the clothes, not tattoo. altough I thought about it, but I'm not sure if I want to add tattoos to this mini. I mean sure it would make it visually more interesting and with that seemingly higher quality, but... I like it more like how it is, simple

Finally! My model is primed. A helluva job getting her made after a few cockups, but I can join in the party now. (Let's pretend I was fashionably late.)

But wait, I hear you cry: doesn't making your own model put you at a bit of a disadvantage because your model is going to be really uneven and a bitch to paint and let's face it you only had 12 days and have never made a model of a woman before so the end result is going to be so much poorer and more difficult to do?

Why yes, I reply. Yes that's all completely true, and I am indeed an idiot. Ah well, at least this is just for fun, right? Right? Guys? Right?

Sorry. It's been a trying evening.
