Looking good! I like that flat background you’ve done. Excellent work with the backlighting. To me there’s a bit too much blue in the central tree, but you likely plan to harmonize it with other elements in the scene. I love the little busted walker thing in the middle ground. I admire detailed groundwork!

Hella nice job on these gents mate!!!! Fantastic

Okay, if I could paint background scenery like that then I would totally do it as well! Really great job on the back piece for that diorama!

  8. #1788

That background piece is awesome, ties everything together into a much larger scene. And it is very well painted!

Thanks everyone! You might be right on that foreground tree Toad! I’ll take a look once it’s all in place and see how it balances out.

Meanwhile I’m plugging away at the rest of the Astra Militarum patrol squad and have been working on a ratling sniper along with doing some kitbashing on the standard IG squadies to make them look a bit more unique.

The ratling has proved extremely tricky due to the size, it got stripped twice due to my frustration with painting the face.

Good looking batch of grunts. You’ve got a great balance of uniformity and variation. This is going to be a great piece, I know it. I love narrative mini painting, especially when it isn’t just two lunatics trying to slice each other in two.

Love the base and the background!

WOW! All very cool. The base is really cool and the little guy is awesome.

But,but, but, that sheep rider is a work of beauty. All the free hand, bird poop, and to me the extremely realistic work of the sheep’s head. VERY COOL!

    Hey everyone, Happy New Year!

Once again, I’ll start my post with apologies for my lack of activity on here. The Christmas break has been busy and I’ve been trying to focus what free time I e had on my diorama to get it ready for some competitions early in the year.

Thanks for all the really positive feedback its much appreciated, this project has definitely been a steep but enjoyable learning curve. The resin pour was a nerve wracking experience to say the least... At this point I’m 95% done and I’m just finishing up the final mini

I perfectly understand your "resin stress" I've been there too...

Happy new year to you too and good luck for the competition!
I have no doubt this scene will catch the jury's eyes.
