And some images about the shoulder pad stripe painting:

Masking and painting the inside of the stripes:

Then I widened the outside of the stripes, and painted back with background color the excess. Look from side (e.g. nova logo on image #3 above, I have to fix the borders) to find any irregularities. Even though you can paint only .2 mm wide lines with the brush, you can always narrow it with background color. You can always take a photo and use helper lines in an editor to find where do you need to fix the lines. It can take time, but should be quite a mechanical process.
And I can fail, too, see genestealer magus above.

Great tip with the masking tape. Never thought about that xD

Did I get it right? You place the tape, paint alongside the tape's edge, then move the tape strip and repeat. Then eventually mask again to straighten it out with the background color.
Either way, brain memo was made

    To mini:

Yeaaah with the face in place the red kneepads are a totally different story ^^ As far as I'm concerned the focus sits nicely on the face. Very interesting lightning.
    Keep on it

Something like that, I just skipped the "repeat" part and jump immediately the the "straighten" part. But you can always place two strips and keep the distance even.
My pain is that do not know where can I buy narrower tapes, like .5mm and 1.5mm ones. Halving a 3mm one is PITA and I cannot do it properly.

    And the finished body is:

Great job! The cold/warm contrast works very well and the red armor parts look fantastic.

Lone, assuming you are in Europe, Vallejo sells some 1mm and 2mm tape: https://acrylicosvallejo.com/en/cate...ols-en/page/2/
Otherwise I would say if you have any stores around that sell model trains or remote controlled cars/trucks, they will probably have some or there should be a webstore that sells that stuff in Europe. I know that Tamiya also makes a 1/32nd size tape, which I believe is around .7mm

Great job on this one as well!

Nice tutorial part on the shoulder pad and a good looking figure also, keep up the good work.

    /K
work is boring when it gets in the way of my painting.

What I was surprised of is that the red is the cold color here, and green is the warm.

Thanks, though I am pretty sure that I am using the Vallejo 1mm one (the paper is missing from the plastic bag).
I will look around for the Tamiya one.

And proceeding with the right arm. The were upside down photos, but maybe you can see the details:

Then using some support to light the arm appropriately:

Skull tattoo was based on the following image, but the ammo was too small, could not be seen properly:

Looks good so far. The skin looks interesting and the transitions are super smooth. The Freehand tattoo is really sharp and tidy. Can't wait to see it "mounted" to the mini ^^

    Thanks!

The right arm is in the shadow, I hope you mean that as "interesting".

    The left arm is lit:

Yap, that's exactly what I meant.
    The warm/cold contrast looks interesting

Ahh, you had said it was a pain using 3mm tape, so I assumed that was what you were using, hence the other options. Really like this one and can't wait to see the final fig all painted.

It is pain to halve them, cannot do it properly Check #432 for usage.

BTW here is a pic about the glove and the minigun:

Some fun facts: I will never buy any big metal minis anymore. I could not put it together, cut down the end of the minigun and "borrowed" a small bit of string from my wife's guitar.
But seems that others had the same problem, too.

I love your blending/transitions. And the freehand is supremely well done! I'd like to see a zoomed in photo of the skull tattoo.
The right side of his face looks very dark & desaturated though, is that the final color?

    *sigh* I'm envious.
Not only I don't really have time, but the quality you make is much better than mine now.
You improved quite a lot since last year, while I just regressed.
    Forgot, that it works again.

    Thanks gorb!

I have to be at home when the sun is shining, lamp light is not enough, so sadly you need to wait a couple of days
But I plan to paint another tattoo on the other shoulder, maybe it will help.

Basically yes, plan is light from his front/left side, darkness/blueish light from his back/right.

    Thanks MAXXxxx!

One of my problem is that I do not have enough time to paint it better

Sad to hear it, especially the regression part. How is your back? Is it better? Can you paint nowadays?

And about the mini. I still hate to paint long cilinders, took some time to paint the barrels with TMM, even it cannot bee seen very well:

Still looking great Lemm! The skin continues to be really realistic

Still did not touch the skin

Worked some more on the minigun, used some VMA Gold 71066 on the bottom part (is this some combo minigun/flamethrower???), ready except weathering, spending a lot of time looking up dagger and snake tattoo (see serpentia commando) for his other shoulder:

Meticulous work on this LL, love the attention to detail and that underlying green hue on the skin. Bit of old masters painting wisdom put to great use.

The shading on that arm is awesome, but the red on the gun is droolworthy.

Yap that skincolor on the arm is just mind blowing. Super realistic!

Yap don't like metal minis either. Hope Infinity changes to resin at some day since I like a lot of their stuff. The gun with all the detail looks great and the guitar string fits in pretty well.

Can't wait to see the finished mini but I'm sure it will be awesome
