Been following this here and instagram, just not managed to comment here till now.

Firstly, glad you are pushing through your lull on this one...It'll be worth it.

Secondly cant help but agree with others, the starined flesh around the cybernetic bits looks great. Also really plesed you are pushing this is other areas, OSL on the cannister, scratches and scrapes on the cape and the rich, stained wooden handle to the rifle.

    Cool stuff

More done, more frustrations. Trying lots of things I don’t usually try with this one, and I feel like it’s biting me in the arse a little.
Struggling with paint not going on smooth, metallics, freehand etc.

I have half an idea to grab another copy of this model off of eBay when I’m finished and have another shot, see if I can work on my mistakes.

Don't give up, it looks great for me. I like the texture on the cloak and the freehand melts in nicley as well. The scratches on the inner side of the cloak are well done too.
Can't gelp you with the metallics -.- I get the same grainy look when painting TMM, thats why I kinda gave it up after trying all kinds of brands^^ In theory it should become smooth with thin glazes of metal color + "normal" color.

You’re really getting some great effects on there, despite it wrestling you all the way, I guess. I love the robe & the little white sash. Canister, skin tones, it looks great.

That cape for some reason I don't understand looks awesome, It gives a lot of character to the mini. Great work, I wanted to get that mini without buying blackstone but can't get it atm.

From a progress point of perspective there is no need at all to be frustrated.
Looks like you're producing another "master piece" ;-)
    Go ahead... !!

Have you checked ebay? I already saw a couple single minis from the box there.

Was kind of a joke, but I will look around, too

Your cloth pattern looks much better than my first try, that's why I switched to stippling

But you could try to keep the thread orientation the same (on the top right corner it is vertical, elsewhere horizontal), and maybe parallel to the bottom of the material (except the wrinkle bottom right).

Welcome to the club And the best part is, someone looks at your mini for 5 secs, says "nice" and puts it down, never looking back

Maybe you could try to paint metallics immediately like NMM, not glazing and washing, but mixing the paint with shade color, and even with some highlight, too.

I can understand your frustration: I guess you have a picture in your head about where you want to take this, and nothing you do seems to get you closer to the goal, right?
Rest assured, it looks brilliant from where I'm sitting So much little detail, yet overall it all clicks.
If you have to, take a break from it, but come back when you're ready, ok? We all want to see this when you're happy with it!

I don't know about chrome galvanization of a miniature, but you might look into Molotow chrome markers or just get the refill and uses a paint brush. Damn thing looks like you chromed it after using one. And this guy is looking fantastic! Push through as I can't wait to see the finished piece

Brother-i truly don’t think you really see how level up this model is ATM and continues to impress. Look we go through things all of the time where our eyes see things that we obsess about. What you need to do at that point is listen to all the folks that are saying how marvelous this is turning out . Just follow your heart try new things or not but keep on going with this and trust in the fact of how many of us are seeing it for what it is.

I've gotten that same frustration before. Just keep pushing and see where you've come from. Will help a lot

He's looking pretty fabulous to me, Foxy! I like the red(?) glazing on the face and the scratches on the inside of the cloak/wrap/poncho thingie. I'm sorry you're having a rough go of it. I'm sure the majority of us have been there and we all feel your pain! Good for you for sticking with it, a lesser being would have put it aside and moved on by now. Just keep at it, you're almost there!

Phew! So aside from the base (cheers Canny!) and a varnish, Dahyak Grekh is done.

Thanks everyone for the support. I’ve got to be honest, I still hate him, but I certainly wouldn’t have had the motivation to finish him without you guys, and I’ve taken on board al your feedback for the next one.

I seem to have gotten the contrast about right too.

Great work on this. You know it is the little details that stand out to me the most..Great work on the wood texture on the pistol grip and rifle stock
