Great job. Reminds me of the kid in the pajamas in the “Where the wild things are” book for some reason.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can't tell you how much I appreciate each of your comments and I'm blown away by the score the Goblin King and Co. got. To make it on to the front page of CMON is an honor I was not expecting to ever achieve. I owe much to everything I've learned here on this very forum!

I finished up a major project I had been working off and on for quite a while recently. The trolls were not as much fun to paint as I hoped and they took a lot more time than I expected but I'm glad to have completed some larger models at the same time. The campfire wasn't much better but I think it looks nice and fits the tone of the trolls as well. It was also my first successful attempt at OSL which is nice to be able to say. I do have to say, the three trolls look amazing altogether and I know I'm depriving you of that image for now but once I get some terrain built for them, I promise to take some better pictures then

Really good job on these! That fire base looks amazing

  12. #432

Looks nice. The fire could use a bit more contrast. Maybe some oranges to offset all the yellow.

Epic work mate... your really moving forward with Every new model you paint!!!

that skin is looking real good. I suck at painting skin and skin tones.

Thank you all for the kind words and advice! KB - you're recommendation helped me notice that the Troll pictures are a little blown out so I will try to get the lighting right when I take final pictures for the gallery.

While I've been working on Goblin Town terrain quite a bit, that gets tedious after a while and so I started painting up some old metal LOTR minis that I have amassed over the last year. I wanted these to look good as I will try and game with them eventually but I took my time and did as high quality of work as I could at the same time. I'm most happy with the cloaks which strangely, I think are one of the more important parts to paint well. It is also worth noting how hard the eyes are on these tiny minis. It is hard to get them just right without losing patience!

I also tackled another Orc on Fell Warg. This is definitely the best one yet and I love the freehand warpaint. It really sets these guys apart. I kind of think this new guy makes the previous two look bit weak but hopefully the rest of the Hunter Orcs come out closer to the third one.

Warg riders look great Jeff, I clocked these on instagram the other day...as BAM and you said, the warpainted one is definitely the standout. Lovely clean painting and details.

New warg rider is great but I think I like Bilbo even more. Nice tight color scheme. But the warg rider is really nice!
