I stumbled on one of your videos completely by chance, I've asked (hinted extremely heavily) for the kingdom death pinup warrior of the sun for my birthday and it just so happens I found one of your videos painting her, I'll definitely be consulting it when I finally get to paint her, I just watched it briefly without sound to get a better look at the mini but the osl part should be useful for me when the time comes

I will more than likely be picking at least one more of the pin-ups, and featuring them in some videos.
They are certainly popular and I think KD deserves a better produced video sometime soon.

I just order them direct from the Kingdom Death shop.

To be honest I always forget to check if they've updated their stock, I think I signed up for their news letter but I never seem to get one. Also because you have to order from the warehouse nearest you sometimes the stuff isn't available in the UK one (although I'm not sure if you can order from a different one if your nearest is out of stock)

Derailed your thread a bit here but I intend to check out more of your videos on topics I'm weaker at

I just checked yesterday, and the UK warehouse had a few of the pin ups.

Yeah that's what I put on the birthday/Christmas list, in hindsight I wish I'd put all the available minis on the list but I went with the wet nurse, warrior of the sun and order knight pinups, I'll be keeping a closer eye on their shop in the future

This is a complete painting guide on flat and rounded armour plates. I know a lot of painters have been asking for it, so here's a 33 minute long demo of how to accomplish that!
This was originally a Patron-only video, and I am releasing it for promotional purposes. This is just a small taste of what you get when you become a Patron.

All colours used ar Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

    Base - Sanguine Base
    Highlight 1 - Skorne Red

Re-take any shadows or shading that isn't intense enough, or in places where you were overzealous with the first highlight.

Highlight 2 - Khador Red Base
Final Highlight - Khador Red Highlight

Just edge highlight with the KRH, and don't over do it with this colour, or it will start registering as orange. Alternately, you can use a salmon, or flesh colour, or even an almost pure white for your edge highlight. It will depend on how shiny you want the plates to look.

I've had a number of questions about my Massive Darkness bases. So, here it is, in all of it's super-easy glory, the method for my Massive Darkness basing.

This will work for any figure with an integrated base, and if you want the appearance of dungeon flooring for the base.

    Supplies needed:
    White (PVA) Glue
    Basing Sand/Ballast

All paints are Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

    Base - Greatcoat Grey
    Grout - Cryx Bane Base
Stone Highlight 1 - Bastion Grey
Stone Highlight 2 - Trollblood Highlight
Sand Wash - Thinned Vallejo Smoke

Use some of the thinned Smoke wash to stain and dirty up some of the floor stones, and to hide some of the harsh colour transitions.
Drybrush Rucksack Tan, and then 'Jack Bone to finish off the sand.

This video covers some basic techniques, and reasons for using a wash. I cover the basic principles and my basic wash recipe, which is easy to tweak and adjust to each painter's preference.

There is some very basic stuff covered here, but for the more advanced painters, I show you how to use washes to create a smooth shift from one colour to the next , even though it's all the colours of a rainbow.

    Basic Wash Recipe:
    50% Water
    25% Matte Medium
    25% Paint or Ink

Inks will always provide a more intense colour. So, it's best to start with a small amount and adjust upwards as needed. You can also adjust the water to medium ratios for a thinner, more transparent wash, or add more medium for a thicker wash that stays put.

    By Patron request!

This video sets up the basic principles and techniques to use when painting a horse, or anything with smooth, rounded surfaces. This tutorial can also be used as an alternate white, in which the final look is cooler, and starker than my standard white method.

I cover several techniques and methods for obtaining high table top standard, though the techniques can be applied to showcase models - simply add more highlight and shade layers for smoother transitions.

All paints used are Formula P3 unless stated otherwise.

    Base - Trollblood Highlight
    Shade - Greatcoat Grey
Highlight 1- 50/50 Trollblood Hilight + Morrow White
    Highlight 2 - 25/75 Trollblood Hilight + Morrow White
    Highlight 3 - 50/50 Pure Morrow White

A painting guide that goes in-depth with NMM, and provides an easy to use workflow and methodology.
This is more for advanced painters, and those wishing to really push their skills to the next level.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=https://youtu.be/Wt43sngqACM

All paints used in this video are Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

    Base - Bastion Grey
Shade 1 - Pure Greatcoat Grey
Shade 2 - Greatcoat Grey with a Spot of Meridius Blue
Shade 3 - Add a Few Drops of Thamar Black to the Previous Shade
Highlight 1 - 25/75 Mix of Bastion Grey + Menoth White Highlight
Highlight 2 - Add a Few More Drops of Menoth White Highlight to Previous Highlight
Highlight 3 - Add More Menoth White Highlight to Previous Highlight. It should be very close to pure white.

A final edge highlight can be added to the corners and to emphasize the sharpest points of light.

A final glaze of Sanguine Highlight on key areas of the metals, where the cloak comes close, add some realism. By reflecting the colours around the metals, it adds that extra little bit of realism that will help really sell the effect.
