Some basic colour mixing in this video on how to make the most vibrant pinks. Using a pure magenta colour mixed with white will produce the truest pinks, and still retain the saturation without looking too pastel.

I also cover and explain 'Overbrushing' and the best ways to go about using the technique.

All paints used in this video are Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

Base - 70/30 Mix of Morrow White + Murderous Magenta
Highlight 1- 80/20 Mix of Morrow White + Murderous Magenta
Highlight 2 - 90/10 Mix of Morrow White + Murderous Magenta
Highlight 3 - Add a few more Drops of Morrow White to the previous highlight mix.
Final shade - Thinly Glaze a Mix of Murderous Magenta + a few drops of Sanguine Base into the shadows and anywhere you want extra depth or contrast.

A quick little video that teaches the painter some tips for painting make-up. When you need a sultry or seductive look for your female miniatures, make-up always helps.

This requires a steady hand, but as long as you can apply thin paint, and hold the brush still, any painter can do this.

All paints used are Formula P3 by Privateer Press, unless stated otherwise.

    Lips:
Base - 75/25 Sanguine Base + Ryn Flesh
Highlight 1 Add a few drops of Morrow White to the Base
Highlight 2 - Add a few more drops of Morrow White to Highlight 1

    Cheek Blush:
Mix a thin glaze of a 75/25 mix of Ryn Flesh + Sanguine Highlight

    Eyeshadow:
Mix a thin glaze of a 75/25 Mix of Ryn Flesh + Bastion Grey
Inner Eye - Add a few drops of Meredius Blue to the previous mix.

If the skin is darker, lighter, or a different colour, use your base flesh colour to mix in with the various colours.
Experiement a bit, as make-up can be used to create more or less contrast, and intensify, and create colour harmonies.

Some basic steps to follow for painting hair that is long and black. I also cover some extra tips on colour theory, and how to apply it when painting hair.

I've yet to cover hair that is long, and this video sets up all the principles to apply when painting hair that is longer than shoulder length.

This video continues on from the previous two in the series. If you need to watch them, they can be found at the links below:

    Complimentary Colours - https://youtu.be/4qPwmiPo7h4
    Analagous & Triadic Harmonies - https://youtu.be/r9g9wVi1vEg

This video delves into some more science based colour mixing, and which colours to use in order to do-so.
A large portion is then devoted to exploring contrast using tone, and colour. Towards the end of the video I show some models and discuss how the theory explained in the video would apply to certain models I have painted.

One of my most-used and favourite greens.
I'm giving away my secret formula here folks, so I hope at least that's of some value. :P
This quick tip is a bit longer, as there was too much good, two brush blending footage to just discard.

For those of you looking for a complete demo, and guide for two brush blending, this is it. The two views from above the model, and from the side of the desk, allow the viewer to see how I hold the brushes, switch them out, go to the palette, and more.

I demonstrate two different ways for easy blood effects.
When mixing your own blood colours, adding some gloss medium or varnish to the mix will give it some shine. Alternately, you can gloss varnish just the blood effects after application.

All paints used in this video are Formula P3 by Privateer Press unless stated otherwise.

The easiest - Citadel: Blood for the Blood God

Or you can mix your own with paint and Gloss Medium/Varnish:

    Murderous Magenta + Cygnus Yellow
Any Reds + Murderous Magenta, Sanguine Base or Highlight
Adding a spot of deep brown, such as Umbral Umber will deepen and darken the blood for and older and stain-like appearance.
