    Thanks Krule

I've got Morathi done up in sub assemblies, not sure I'm brave enough to dig into that one yet. Might try doing some beat up metallics on a forge/maulerfiend

    Default You do good work

Nice job bud- looking for a home for your models-we’ll now -I have just the thing- go on my ETSY PAGE - heroes for war games . Look at where I put all my old models-my fiancé owns the shop and runs it. I just donate the models. It will give you an idea of the spectrum of pricing for each level of painting. I’m sure this is what your looking for.

Hey thanks for the heads up Blood. Maybe it is just best to fire up an etsy/ebay account. If I could recoup at least a part of the cost of the model/supplies that'd be more than enough. It'd be fun to get plastic back in return instead, but oh well - cash buys plastic!

I tend to be critical of my own paint jobs so pricing is difficult (i.e. not even sure that I add value compared to a NIB model), but I can always tinker I suppose. There's also plenty of time to get better

I started in on a forgefiend and came up with a scheme I'm pretty comfortable with. I'm hoping to get a dripping corrosion effect on the steel, but not sure how to proceed. Was curious if that's an effect anyone's taken a stab at?

Super pleased with the P3 flesh set. This one's all purpled up so it looks a bit more fantasy colored, but nice coverage on them and the dark to light transitions are nice. A bit streaky in places on the model, but I've been trying to work on my brush transitions a bit.

Still a ton of work to do. Not sure what color to go w/on the leather bits (gloves, boots/pants). Other than that most of the colors are blocked in. Went with a zenithal shade on the wings that turned out fairly well gives a nice 2 tone effect in the hand. I'll probably dull some of the deeper edges in the latticework on the gold side though.

Realized it's been ages since I attempted to paint pristine skin. Really struggled with the face in particular. I may revisit some of the details & highlights. The leather could maybe be touched up a bit. Input/critique's always welcome.

Thanks Dex! Excited about this model. The serpentine body around the pillar is going to be a challenge.

Made some decent progress on the serpentine bits for morathi. Couple bald spots on the pillar from masking, and quite a bit of detail work to do yet.

Botched my Morathi which was a bit of a bummer. Took me a bit to find my sense of humor again. Saw this dude and wanted to try to work with a bit higher contrast than some of the stuff I did before. Still a WIP, but fairly pleased with the progress so far.

    C&C is always great though!

How bad was the botch? Anything recoverable?

Mulch is looking good though. He could do with some crisp edge highlights or blacklining I think, just to break up the different areas.

Hey thanks Fox! Mo' was pretty bad. If I were a better sculptor I might try to take a stab at it, but easier to just chalk it up to a learning experience. Bummer since it's a spendy model, but oh well.

Solid tip on the high/low-lights. I feel like the yellow in the shell is pretty solid, but may tinker with the purple a bit more. The tree definitely needs some work as well, so I'll need a way to separate the brown -> brown transition from shell to tree. I'll probably drop a couple of grass tufts on there as well. I'd like to find a decent orange for edge highlighting red. Fire dragon bright - the gw orange - looks weird applied to red.

Going to tackle some detail work (toenails, eyes, hanging moss) and re-evaluate.

Try flesh tones for highlighting red. Adding yellow to highlight tends to make the whole thing look orange, and adding white tends to make the whole thing look pink. Flesh tones are the best I've found for sharp highlights on red.

Don't give up on the Morathi I'm sure it's salvageable mate. But good start on the new model, it looks fantastic so far. Like the colours you've got going on
