Just some marvelous work that went into this !!!
Well. Long time no update. No reason in particular, I have been gettin' my "hobby on" during my "radio silence". I've been meaning to post an update for while now. It's just so daunting to even think about. What do I post? Do I have good pictures? Oh well I'll post later... ENOUGH! I really just wanted to say"Hi!" I have much to share. For now I'll just throw up what I am working on tonight. Ares, from Clay Cyanide Miniatures. He has a huge cape, that removed itself, for easier painting. Easy reattach later, lol. I am (finally) getting a handle on NMM, my old nemesis. I'll just post the projects I pullback out as they come up and try to intersperse the ...err, complete-ish ones as I break out the camera.![]()

Really nice work on the last female figure, base looks amazing too. This new one is coming along nicely as well.
Thanks Eki. Shame that had to rush her in the end. She was fun and an eye opener for me working on larger size figs.
Well, i have been fine tuning my NMM. The only proper diversion seems to be working on a TMM mini as well. The last two nights have been dominated with this guy.Timmy 2: Electric Boogaloo Getting close now. Funny thing is that I was driven to this fig by a desire to make a dusty martian ground with pigments(which I will still do) and now I really like the base paint as is!
A little work on Ares as well. Got the cape painted up (well. more to do on it) and placed for the photos. Armor has been smoothed out in the front torso. Still need to work the back and helmet. Still unsure about the Blue. Red is the obvious choice. Just that with the cape and fire above and below... how much red is too much? I'll likely work the base a bit before making up my mind about it. Any thoughts?

Very nice work about the light. The red looks nice in my opinion. Some green tones on the base will bring nice contrast I think.
Thanks Kallfa. Some green makes sense color wise, not sure how I'll work that in with the the flames sculpted into the base however.
Still actively working on Timmy, no new pics though. I've been working up this here base as well. It will be host to this Centaur from Heroes Infinite, and maybe one other. It will have small waterfalls working down the right side. On the left side, what appears to be a large smooth rock is now actually covered in dirt(yes, real dirt). It will get covered with grass(no, not real) like the base of The Maxx that I recently printed and painted. I have another base done in much the same way(no water though) waiting for me to paint its mini, I'll try to get some pics taken of it. I think she's a real beaut, so I should.
Thanks for looking. Glad to be back on, posting. C&C always sought.
EDIT
If I'm gonna talk of tree bark rocks I suppose I should share this one as well. Dread Pirate Roberts. Pirate still needs work. Man, black on black, with a side of black sauce! Although the sculpt is not 100% accurate from the movie I call this one "the cliffs of Insanity!"

Quite a bit of e trendy high quality work going on. I enjoying coming on here and catch my up - your base work is fantanatik as well!!!!
I agree with BaM, the minis look great and you are absolutely killing it with the bases!
The stone texturing on the dread pirate's base looks amazing.
You did a very lovely work with the Centaur's basing, I like that a lot!
Thanks Gorb, Gra and BAM. Really looking forward to adding some water to the Cen base.
Well, I was cleaning up my work area and disaster struck my Timmy. He's shattered into a bunch of pieces and some unfound! I'm not overly bummed about it, much anyway. I was experimenting, learned a bunch and can always print up another! Too bad though I was 99.97% done.
I needed to paint something up quickly to get over the trauma. I had this Airbrush cap just waiting to be detailed. 3d printable Airbrush Lid/Cap Fits most Iwata models. It's posted up on thingiverse. Free to allI
suppose I'll mention this base (hmm, I should finish up that sis) as well, also on my Thingy page.![]()

Sorry to hear that Timmy was beheaded and missing body parts. Now you will have to paint the AB cover to look like a chaos alter (maybe red and black with the eight pointed star) and and you can say that in the midst of painting Timmy was beset upon and killed by a Chaos warband who stuck his trophy helmet on their alter. Some really nice base work you got going on here.
I was planning on waiting until I had progressed further on this project to start the progress reports. I am just so damn exited about this one at the moment I cannot contain myself. This is the base I designed with a built in cyclone (radius at rear of the base) mentioned in above post. So much more painting to go. In fact this is just the first layer of paint. The figure will be Vulkan, Primarch of the Salamanders from the Warhammer Universe. This means green armor, so I will be painting the background in reds and oranges, a volcanic environment. Painting the background in the grisaille style. Creating a black and white painting to establish values before adding color. As light as the lightest areas appear at the moment, it is all only one shade of grey paint around the middle of the value scale. Sorry for the elaborate artsy explanation, I got nobody else around to speak to. I did mention ramblings, did I not?
EDIT/UPDATE
Not sure exactly where I am going with this painting, just winging it and letting the airbrush tell me.
