    Default Deathguard army WIP

    Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster. Really been getting into painting lately with the 8th edition and enjoying the beautiful new death guard minis. Busted my ass on these guys for the last 2 months so any feedback and suggestions would be brilliant.

I've noticed huge improvements in my edge highlighting from model to model which is great. It seems that paint consistency is the most critical thing here. The main issue I'm having is with these tentacles and fleshy bits, they're really giving me a headache. Any tips, links to good flesh-glazing and blending sources would be much appreciated. I think glazing and blending is the technique that'll take my stuff to the next level. Edge highlighting can only get you so far.

Please do have a look at the imgur album and let me know what you guys think!

    Welcome to the madhouse!

As someone once told me - don't get disheartened by the lack of comments. There are a lot of threads here, so just keep posting and people will come. (none of us can resist nicely painted minis anyway...)

Your pics look great from what I see on my phone now. A tip though would be to incorporate them as pics in your post rather than links, people will be more likely too see them without the hassle of opening and closing tabs.

    Again, welcome

Very nice, i like the classic style of painting you used here, they are certainely top notch. (psst iateyourbananas is right theyre all mad here, dont make eye contact also the pics are too nice to have links, go big and bold)

Nice work you have going there. I dropped by as I would like to paint these day. I agree with Iateyourbananas in that the best thing you can do to be seen is to include your pics in your posts. I doubt I'm the only one who bypasses many secondary off site picture hosts. I don't do it because I can't be bothered but rather have become tired of broken and out dated links or sites that hijack you to elsewhere.
As for the painting it's not too bad. Bit hard to see due to lighting but you'll learn all that here. Really pushing the highlights and shadows will improve your results and it sounds like you are wanting to learn that already. You'll find plenty of useful tutorials here for the things you are wanting to learn. Seb Archer, or automaton here, has a few tutorials on blending skin etc. Cheeba has some good tutes too and both give their paint recipes so you can follow along on your own work. FigureMentors and Massive Voodoo are great sites to improve your painting too. YouTube is your friend too. Ghoul has some good video tutorials there. If you don't mind spending just a few dollars there are some fine Patreon painters....especially if you are wanting really high quality advanced tutorials.

    Keep posting.

Nice work on the Deathguard! I agree with Cassar. I like the old school style painting you are using!
